What GeistHaus is

GeistHaus is a journaling, reflection, and general-wellness tool. It is not therapy and not medical care. It does not diagnose, treat, or provide professional mental-health or medical advice, and it is not a substitute for a licensed professional or for a person who knows you. Its responses are generated by an AI — a computer program, not a human being.

For adults

GeistHaus is for use by adults. By creating an account and using it, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older.

Not for emergencies

GeistHaus cannot help in a crisis or emergency and cannot contact anyone on your behalf. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, use the resources on our safety page — in the US you can call or text 988, or call 911 if you are in immediate danger.

Using it responsibly

Use GeistHaus for your own reflection and well-being. Don't rely on it for clinical, legal, financial, or other professional advice, and don't treat its reflections as a diagnosis or a treatment plan. You are responsible for the decisions you make.

Subscription and billing

GeistHaus is a paid subscription. There is one plan. It bills monthly and renews automatically until you cancel. Where you subscribe determines the price and who charges you.

• On the web — $40 per month for a new subscription. GeistHaus LLC is the seller, and payment is handled by Stripe on our behalf.
• In the iPhone, iPad, or Mac app — $50 per month. Apple is the seller of record: Apple charges you, Apple holds the billing relationship, and Apple's terms govern that purchase. The price is higher because it includes Apple's commission. The price shown in the app at the moment you purchase is the authoritative one.

It is the same GeistHaus either way, and one subscription covers every device you sign in on. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any taxes that may apply where you live; if tax applies, it is added at checkout or included as the seller indicates.

The prices above are what a new subscription costs today. If you are already subscribed, you keep the price you agreed to unless we tell you about a change first. If we do change your price, we will tell you before it applies and you will have the chance to cancel. A price change never applies retroactively to a period you have already paid for.

Automatic renewal, and how to cancel

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each monthly period, at the price that applied when you subscribed unless we have given you advance notice of a change, and you will be charged for the next month unless you cancel first. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancelling stops the next charge; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate partial months.

• If you subscribed on the web: Settings → Manage subscription, which opens the Stripe billing portal. You can also write to us at wes@geist.haus and we will do it for you.
• If you subscribed in the iPhone, iPad, or Mac app: cancel through Apple — on iPhone or iPad, Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on a Mac, App Store → your name → Account Settings. We cannot cancel an Apple subscription for you, and deleting the app or your GeistHaus account does not cancel it.

Refunds

Web subscriptions. Write to us at wes@geist.haus. We can issue a refund through Stripe, and we will look at any request in good faith.

App Store subscriptions. We cannot refund a purchase made through Apple — we never receive the payment and have no ability to reverse it. Apple is the seller and Apple's refund policy governs. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Nothing here limits any refund right you have under the law where you live.

Your data

How we handle your entries is described in our privacy policy. You own your entries, we never sell them, and you can delete your account and its data at any time.

No warranty

GeistHaus is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that its reflections are accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material — anything affecting price, renewal, cancellation, or your rights — we will tell you before it takes effect, and the “last updated” date above always reflects the current version. Continuing to use GeistHaus after a change takes effect means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. GeistHaus is currently offered in the United States only.
