Dredged up some residual knowledge relating to tech support from my mind fields. I again wish to reiterate how much I hate printers.

If you keep getting the cryptic error ‘Failed to publish’, disable the search feature for the content type. Search completely prevents the publishing of content. Quite the bug! Broken straight out of the box.
@db Yeah, I suppose I might be a tad optimistic here. I’m fairly certain Cloudflare will continue to invest in it, as having a full CMS offering would give them the full stack of domain, hosting, and content management. How much better it will get with further work is debatable, however.
I’d just really like to see something simple and extensible that folks over the age of 80 can manage reasonably. EmDash is the closest I’ve seen. Ghost is runner-up, but is much more demanding to host and is too rigid to cater for for every need.
I need write some words coherently proper please. Grant me strength to word put together into sentence so can read well and goodly. Brain all frazzled can’t word readable way thank you. Oh dear. Too many language.
Another day, another ‘bio’ about me slopped out and published for some unknown reason. I can only hope nobody actually reads or references these things due to their inaccuracies and faults.
My name is worth something in clicks and ad revenue, I suppose.
I’ve been trying Cloudflare’s EmDash content management system. It isn’t fit for use yet.
Playing around with training a small language model on my own writing and work again.
I love this output: https://www.com/wiki/posts
It is trained on links and the presence of URL parts like ‘https’, ‘www’, ‘com’, and ‘wiki’ (from Wikipedia) in association but doesn’t quite put them together correctly.
@chi Happy birthday!

I want to quip at the expense of the writing of Spy Kids and The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, but perfection cannot be faulted.
Sometimes I find myself thinking of this completely out-of-left-field line from the 2002 film Spy Kids 2:
‘Do you think God stays in heaven because he, too, lives in fear of what he’s created here on Earth?’
@tg Material Capsule fits that bill. iPhone Dynamic Island style experience on Android.

I am sure this will be entirely flawless and introduce not a single bug or issue.
Bun just merged a pull request which entirely rewrites the entire thing in Rust from Zig.

Trying to kill WordPress is like trying to kill a god. You will be made an example of, humiliated, and quite possibly smote by powers otherwise unknown in this realm.
The above effect is especially exacerbated by strong contrast, like pure white on pure black. However, different conditions benefit from different levels of contrast. For example, people with conditions such as cataracts, aniridia, and achromatopsia can benefit from low-contrast visuals. The prefers-contrast CSS media feature is fantastic for tailoring to your user’s needs.
I love dark mode, but it mustn’t be the only option. For a lot of people, white text upon a dark background is illegible.
Common eye conditions like astigmatism, myopia, and presbyopia can make content look foggy, become hard to focus on, and cause eye strain.
With the review I performed today, there are now over a thousand personal sites listed on PersonalSit.es! A thousand! Proper bonkers! What a milestone! 🥳 🎉
@bkardell Being a professional, I flip-flop between them to ensure maximum confusion.

I’ve successfully broken Hacker News. This submission has -4 points, somehow.
I got jumpscared by John Lennon’s face appearing on my computer screen, but it was actually my own reflection. It was late ‘60s John Lennon I thought I saw as well, so evidently my hair is looking dishevelled.

@fossheim I’ve been using Hetzner for a few years. Completely and entirely uneventful, which is arguably the best one could hope for. I have a referrer link that I think gives both you and I a benefit: https://hetzner.cloud/?ref=34Y7cl2jIkuM
Main thing to be wary of with Hetzner is that they’re pretty strict against NSFW content.
Vale.Rocks now has a tag view, so you can view content with specific tags. You could already kinda do this with filtering on the search page, but this is a tad nicer and comes with descriptions.
It isn’t perfect yet, but it is a start.
A lot of developers mistakenly think that the code is the product. In reality, for most businesses the product is the product, and the code is merely means to an end.
I think this explains why so many developers’ efforts are so horribly misguided by modern technologies. They’re building the code, not the product.
