'A very welcome return to Rephazer! After releasing two albums on Kahvi in the past in classic Boards of Canada vibes, he returns with some more of the amazingly detailed tracks, nostalgic memories and retro analog melodies. This is the second part of the 500th release celebration.'
'mmerse yourself in a sonic journey with Breenj, the latest electronic music album by Howler after he was featured some time ago in the VA compilation. This captivating collection features three meticulously crafted tracks, each resonating with the atmospheric and ambient soundscapes reminiscent of Solar Fields (Ultimae). From the celestial melodies to the hypnotic rhythms, Howler's Breenj invites listeners to explore new dimensions of auditory bliss'
'Dark, icy blues and purples dominate the sonic landscape, punctuated by bursts of neon green and pink. Smooth, clean synths evoke the vastness of space, while a steady, pulsing simulates the rhythmic hum of celestial machinery. Faint, whispered textures evoke the mysteries of time, and distant, ethereal choirs whisper secrets of the cosmos. A perfect combination of electronic and electric acoustic.'
'On their 8-track electronic album, Occident Accident, guest artist Mint Deluxe crafts a meticulous soundscape of controlled chaos and machine melancholy. The rhythmic foundation is built on intricate, skittering glitch percussion, recalling the meticulous digital fragmentation of artists like Autechre and the complex beat-work of Aphex Twin. Beneath this nervous energy, deep and mellow basslines provide a warm, grounding presence that anchors the listener. Woven throughout are subtle, detuned elements - melodies that drift slightly off-key and pads that sigh with a gentle dissonance, creating an atmosphere that is simultaneously uneasy and deeply soulful. Occident Accident is a beautifully rendered document of a system glitching into something unexpectedly human.'
'Netlabel Day 2025:
Kanashibari World is a 9-track journey through memory and machine, crafted by electronic artist Isien. Drawing inspiration from the hazy, analog warmth of Boards of Canada and the neon-lit pulse of 1980s synth pioneers like Gary Numan and Depeche Mode, the album fuses nostalgic IDM textures, lo-fi rhythms, and melancholic synth melodies.
Each track feels like a dream half-remembered - equal parts eerie and beautiful -immersing the listener in a retro-futuristic soundscape haunted by the ghosts of VHS tapes, analog static, and synthetic emotion.'
'Biomes by Weldroid is a four-track journey through vast synthetic landscapes, blending epic ambient textures with jagged distortion, industrial grit, and nostalgic echoes of 80s electronic music. Each piece unfolds like a living environment - expansive, atmospheric, and richly layered - immersing the listener in evolving sonic ecosystems both haunting and cinematic.'
'A small ep from guest artist Lucasle with four short but very sweet tracks in the form of IDM 'plokcity' inspired cuteness (glocki) or Aphex Twin reminiscent AKG Kali with a lofi edge. A great ep to ease into the festive season!'
'A very welcome return to Tom Bragl, who has appeared on Kahvi a few times over the years. An excellent epic eleven track album of hard and fast beats, interspersed with subtle details throughout. With echos of Solar Fields, Pielesh is a fitting album to see out the cold in the winter season and blow out the cobwebs for the New Year.'
'To start the celebration of 500 releases, here is a new album from one of the Kahvi regulars - a welcome return to Planet Boelex!
'Twenty' signifies twenty years of Planet Boelex. A retrospective looking back into the original styles with quirky emotive harmonies and mildly glitched everything. Not to mention lots of small details, as usual.
Headphones recommended.
