It was extremely disappointing to see the journalist in Norway ask questions to our PM. I mean, who even does that? Who asks questions of those in power, honestly?
Shameless independent journalist misusing her press freedom.
So yesterday i came across this post on X(twitter) about a new satirical movement or political party named the cockroach janta party. The manifesto I must say was kinda funny ngl , started as joke but it has picked up some real speed and support now . Their instagram is blowing up with followers . I joined in too as a joke but now if feels like we together could turn it into something good , maybe not a political party but a movement of resistance and a platform for us , the younger generation of the country to discuss our views on topics that ACTUALLY matter . People do have their doubts on the founder as his account is based in USA and he was in touch with AAP a few years ago . Although he did clarify these claims yesterday night in a live stream with the fact that he is currently studying in USA that's why his account is based there and that he was included with AAP activities earlier but now he does not stand with anyone. If this turns out to be another political backed stunt , people have made it clear that they will not support him anymore. However, for now , the movement seems promising and if this does turn out to be legit it's our duty to support this as someone had the guts to start it so we must indeed support them at the very least . You can be a proud cockroach (as cji mentioned ) by joining the #CJP on their website . what do u guys think about this let me know . It's kinda refreshing seeing something new after a lot of time so yeah I m in support for now .
Okay this is seriously very cool. I’ve never seen this kind of cleaning and maintenance of traffic signs before. Is this a common occurrence in BLR?
Sure there’s other more pressing issues from a cleaning POV but this is amazing! Also nice to see a man just standing quietly in the Delmia circle mayhem doing his job. Meditative almost.
I am not going to blur the image of the rogue or name of their property.
This happened on 4th cross road, adjacent to Kanakapura Road at Raghuvanahalli. I was out with my father in the evening. The shop we were heading to had no parking of theirs, and the main road already had vehicles parked. As I didn’t want to contribute to the parking chaos (there was a No Parking board there), I drove in to the 4th Cross where there were empty spots. As we were about to exit the vehicle after parking at an empty place, out comes rushing this man pointing his finger straight towards us and behaving as if he’s some kind of landlord of the entire locality. There are two PGs there opposite to each other and some shop. The shop had its shutters down.
I politely asked him, what’s his concern if I park the vehicle there, and that it wouldn’t take more than 10 minutes for me to return. And he goes ballistic. He claimed, the space till the surface of the road is his area. That, anything outside his “compound walls” is his place. I try to reason with him stating that can’t be true as he’s claiming public space to be his.
The entire time I was talking with him in Kannada. He kept on raising his voice. Few heads start popping up. A couple of guys come out of one of the PGs. I start recording the saga. My father panics; he’s 70+. I decide not to continue it any longer for his health reasons and ask him to get inside the car. Seeing me getting ready to move, he comes next to the window and asks me to “talk to his lawyer on his phone”. I just laugh and shrug him off. I also told him that this is going on social media.
It is despicable seeing the level of impunity with which these rogues behave. This isn't just a one-off incident and same pattern happens everywhere in the city and outskirts. There are certain pockets where people tie empty bottles to strings and hang between trees and poles, and demarcate the areas outside their residence and commercial spaces. And the city’s civic authorities don’t fine them.
We hear that there’s an upcoming bill vide which parking at office buildings will attract a fee. And then there are these self-entitled baboons who are ready to jump on you because they have largely remained untouched irrespective of their encroachments and daily breaking of other civic laws.
While driving out, my father, visibly shocked, asks me how I stay here and drive around! Sometimes, I ask myself the same questions.
Got slapped a INR 1.68 lakh customs duty on a personal, used item of declared value INR 4753 (roughly $50 actual value). Have asked for it to be returned for reassessment but is there anything I can do on top of it?
Things I've already tried:
Tweeted via someone who has over 50k followers
Emailed Mumbai customs, customs commissioner, etc.
Tried calling all the available numbers (only one rings and doesn't get picked up)
The WhatsApp number is for indiapost FPO, not customs. So they're helpless as well
The package contains small plastic parts for figurines/models, for personal/hobby use. The maximum eligible tax should be 0%. But at most 16%. Don't know what made them charge over 3500% (which doesn't exist).
To be clear, they didn't hold the item or question the value. Just levied a straight charge of 1.68L. They opened the box and still concluded this ridiculous amount.
I'm pretty harrowed and don't really know what to do, other than take a day off and hang around the customs office to talk to them irl.
I (25F) and my friend (22M) were sitting at the dog park near Necklace Road around 10PM. It was a little dark because there were barely any lights there, but there were still other people around and people walking nearby, so we assumed it was fine to sit there for a while and just talk.
After a few minutes, 2 policemen came and asked us what we were doing. We were literally just sitting and talking.
We got up and walked out, and one of them asked my friend for his license. We showed it. Then he started saying, “What are you both doing here? Can’t you see it’s dark and this place is closed?”
The thing is — the place has NO gate and NO proper board saying it’s closed.
My friend stayed calm, apologized, and said, “Sorry sir, we weren’t aware. There are other people here too.”
The cop replied, “We are lodging a complaint against all of them.”
Then he asked for my friend’s full name and his father’s name to file a "petty case".
That’s where I lost it.
Then, I argued with him for a solid 10 minutes. I told him:
-We are both adults.
-My parents know where I am and I can literally call my mother right now.
-If the place is closed, where is the gate?
-Where are the boards or warnings saying it closes at 10PM.
Finally, I raised my voice and directly asked him: “On what basis are you filing a case against him?”
He kept trying to intimidate us, but I refused to back down.
Finally, he got tired and said something like: “Jao jao, kaha kaha se aa jaate ki. Both of you are graduate holders, what did you both study, that you both don't even know where to sit"
And I replied: “Sir, aap se better padh kar aaye"
My friend immediately went “chup ho ja, chalte hai” and dragged me away.
Honestly, the moral of the story is: don’t get intimidated by moral policing. Stay calm, know your rights, and question them when they try to scare you for no reason.
We were lucky we argued back. Another couple there probably ended up paying thousands just for sitting in that mosquito-infested park.
Sometimes they rely on fear more than actual law.
TL;DR: Sat with my male friend at Necklace Road dog park at 10PM, cops tried filing a petty case for simply sitting there. I asked on what basis, argued back, and they let us go. Don’t get scared by moral policing.
India is the world's largest importer of Asbestos, a highly hazardous, known carcinogen. It's a material that is highly regulated in all countries around the world except in India. India is the largest importer of Asbestos in the world, importing around 340,000 tonnes to 480,000 tonnes annually.
The newer generation is more health focussed and give great importance to proper diet and exercise, but my friends, I am sorry to say that as long as you are breathing any air around asbestos, you couldn't be further from healthy. There is nothing you can do to prevent it, because you don't see it. You breathe it and it slowly accumulates in your lungs and other body parts over time.
Health organizations around the world classify all types of Asbestos as human carcinogens, which means that even limited exposure increases your lifetime disease risk.
It is microscopic in nature and once it's trapped within your body, it stays there forever. WBCs cannot break them and the system cannot flush them out. No known medical intervention exists to remove Asbestos within our body.
It is estimated that over the next few decades, over 6 million of our citizens will have dangerous health issues caused by Asbestos. Why is no one talking about this? Is the cause of this deafening silence ignorance?.....Or is it corporate greed?
Was commuting to work today and saw that the Rapido driver had this fixed in the auto. The pipe was cut in the center, and the ends were connected to the openings of two plastic bottles, which were cut into half. Well, the rest is science.
I asked uncle why he didn't use the small fan that Dmart sells as I saw a couple of auto drivers doing the same. He said people might steal it during the night when the auto is parked. I didn't know what to say to this.
Paid him 100 extra after the ride was completed cause I didn't know how else I could have helped. He was an aged person and kinda reminded me of my grandfather.
As the title suggests, I recently has a case where an individual was riding his scotty without wearing a helmet looking elsewhere and just rammed into my car.
When I confronted him, he is shouting back at me for sudden breaking, this is when the traffic is at a stand still ahead of me due to congestion caused by a water tanker.
To make matters worse another local uncle is supporting this idiot and shouting at me.
Sometimes my blood boils and I cannot help but curse these individuals who have no legitimate addition to the society.
In 2024, BBMP is running an actual tree census to map out every single tree in this city. You can find the underlying data on the OpenCity portal. I just made it into a map.
Big caveat first, because it matters: this is not the full picture. As of this snapshot only ~2.87 lakh trees were enumerated, and they're clustered in pockets wherever the survey teams had reached — it's an ongoing, area-by-area count, not a finished citywide map. Later snapshots are already at 5.9 lakh, 6.8 lakh and climbing. So read this as "trees surveyed so far, by zone," not "the definitive greenest areas." Dasarahalli shows zero only because it hadn't been surveyed at all.
Let's start with the least greenest residential localities in Bengaluru:
At around 10:30 pm, three heavily drunk men (aged 18, 21, 30) riding a bike that they had stolen spotted a postgrad girl with a boy in a car behind the Coimbatore Airport. Upon noticing this, the bastards threatened the pair to step out with an aruval (A Tamil word which means a large and long knife). Noticing danger, the boy tried speeding the car, while doing so. The men shattered the car's glass, and the boy was attacked and was made unconscious. The girl was then kidnapped to a different location where she was raped by the three. To make this even worse, three of the two men were BROTHERS!
When the boy was conscious, the girl was nowhere to be found. He immediately called the police for help. Soon, around 100 men were searching for her in the middle of the night. Finally, at around 4 am (nearly 6 hours), the girl manages to escape and wakes up people in the place she was for help.
This incident took place six months ago, and I wasn't aware till today. After some research and watching a few social media reactions, I was beyond disappointed. As a girl, it made me realise Indians are never going to stop blaming the victim.
Reading those comments and listening to the questions reporters ask made my blood boil. "Why were you outside after 8 pm?" "What were you doing with a guy at night?" "Why were u there with a guy there? "You got what you wanted, but with a different guys i dont understand what the problem is." "What was she wearing when it happened?"
The victim was accused of stepping out after 8 pm! Are we still in the 1980s? So many things have developed since then, but Wowan's safety remains uncertain. And instead of addressing the safety concern, we are here criminalising the victim! My question is, why the hell shouldn't she be outside after 8 PM? NO MOTHER FUCKER HAS THE RIGHT TO QUESTION HER! She can go wherever and whenever she wants, AND YOU SIMPLY DON'T HAVE A SAY IN IT. As per my knowledge, there's no law stating that a girl shouldn't step out after 8 pm. Are women your prisoners to rule them over? When you can roam around, why can't a woman? Why are we the only ones who should stay inside when you mfs can do absolutely anything?
I absolutely don't get why she shouldn't be with a guy. You don't even know how they are related. Whenever a girl and a guy are seen together, does that mean they are a couple? Where is this rotten mentality coming from? Even if it were her boyfriend, how is it even related here? It's their b,oth right!!! They can be in a relationship with whoever they want. SHE IS OKAY WITH IT. WHAT'S THE SOCIETY'S ISSUE THEN? Even if they were going to have sex, they had each other's consent!!! How is that sooo hard for indians to understand? The concept of consent is as simple as it can be. At this point, even a newborn would understand, but not fully grown individuals.
The boy was then accused of several allegations. Tell me what he did wrong other than try his best to protect her? He fought with everything he could, even if he was being threatened with a knife. After being conscious, he didn't run away, did he? HE STAYED!!! I don't know how much more I can stress upon this HE STAYED!! Most of his age would've run away to avoid troubled but HE STAYED. But what's the outcome? He is now being falsely accused. I seriously don't understand the issue with people. How could they forget about those who raped her and come barging at the guy who did everything he could have done, everything in his power!
Why is a girl's dress a bigger issue than three grown adults raping? Instead of helping the victim get the justice she deserves, people seem more occupied with criticising her character. She hasn't broken any rules, so why is she being questioned? The victim and everyone involved with her will already be going through so much mentally; instead of supporting them through this, society is only pushing them through a pit. Before posting anything like this, try to think from the victim's point of view. How would she feel when she goes through all this?
I have lost all hope in this country. Being born as a girl is a curse that will forever haunt you throughout your life. No matter how many decades have passed, this scum doesn't seem to leave indian people's mindset.
Way to many people stay in miserable marriages and make the people around them (usually children) miserable as well. Too many men and women, choose to stay in abusive marriages due to the massive sunken cost fallacy of trying to leave. Society should NEVER pride itself in stigmatizing divorce or annulment. It would be normal to leave a marriages if you realize that spouse has changed and not for the better.
No you cannot change change your alcoholic spouse, if they never want to get help. No amount of "family intervention" will change that. No you cannot change a cheater. If you stay with one, you will forever be suspicious of them and constantly either bring that up in fights or vent about it to your family and friends.
If your spouse unilaterally decides that you should be doing all the childcare and does not do anything to stand up to their parents, when they cross boundaries? Divorce
If your spouse cheats on you and decides to blame you for it, taking no accountability? Divorce
If your spouse is emotionally/verbally/physically abusive? Like your dad or mom who you hated growing up? Divorce
If you are a SAHP (stay at home parent) or working partner and your spouse uses your money to invest and enrich themselves without giving you the same financial security? Divorce
If your spouse is addicted to substances/gambling/porn(if you consider that cheating and your spouse knows it) and is not getting any help for it and dragging you and your kids through the mud for it? Divorce
If you are suffering from a dead bedroom and sex is important for you and your spouse is not willing to go to counseler or work with you on this? Divorce
If you had a perfect marriage for 20 years and something like the above happened? Divorce
If you are unhappy with your marriage and you tried to make it work but it doesn't? Divorce
Please don't think about your parents and stay in horrible marriages because they are going to die and leave you with miserable as well. If any parent is reading this, please stop telling your children to live miserably because you are definitely not asking this from them for their own happiness. Society only has a mouth, they will not feed you, assist you to get back on your feet or help you keep your dignity. Society will care about its convenience and projection of false familial cohesion, which will falter everytime someone gets a divorce. Care about the people around you, and ultimately yourself because you can't make anyone happy when you are down in a ditch yourself.
Maybe I am too radical for some of you, but we will happier as a nation if our families have healthy relationships. To make this change happen, be their for your family and friends when they get a divorce. Show them that they are not alone and you will not alienate them if they chose to leave. A lot of us in our 20s to early 30s are considering starting a family of own. Let's try not to repeat what we saw with our parents, aunts, uncles, family friends etc. Let's try to show our children healthy relationships and boundaries so they can break the generational cycle and be happier.
Comment about a time you thought to yourself that someone should definitely get a divorce and why you think they are unwilling too. Let's learn from their mistakes.
It’s been 18 days and it’s getting difficult as more days pass.
To begin with she was a sweet and very innocent person. She was the eldest child of a sikh family in punjab- with 2 younger siblings- a brother and a sister. They had a decent loving family.
When she was unmarried she completed her schooling and worked some jobs and supported her family.
Then she got married to my father in Delhi under rushed circumstances within 14 days of arranged marriage setup. A few months after marriage they had some problems and she left ( i don’t trust my father he wasn’t the best man so i assume she left because something was wrong).
After sometime she got to know she’s expecting me and at that time doctors informed them that she has a heart condition too. Her valves were faulty.
After families talked they decided to reconcile for my sake because it would be difficult for the child. They stayed together while she still had the heart issue. Then they decided to have another child (my younger brother).
After a few months she suffered an attack of sorts and doctors said she won’t survive , her family rushed from place to place. By god’s grace even in those tense times she survived by getting operated. She got mechanical valves at the age of 33.
Then she was fine maybe? she was our mother , she would do everything cook , clean, send us to schools, help us with homework, loved us.
My father was regressive and wouldn’t let her work plus we stay on 4th floor so she couldn’t ever form a social circle or friends because she couldn’t go up down the stairs like a normal person due to her surgery. She would get breathless on walking a lot or doing chores.
My father on the other hand while providing us well was emotionally absent , more towards me than my brother. He didn’t love my mother and never showed it to her. Wouldn’t take her out , wouldn’t consider her in family talks or decisions abd was always more inclined towards his own mother, brother and sisters.
My mother was always v scared so she never fought or caused a scene even when the whole family was wrong. She would stay here for us , so we could grow well and made us her whole world. In vacations we’d go to nani house and there she’d live her life like a normal person- eat , wear, go wherever and however she pleased.
Soon she found out my dad was also cheating on her but since we were still young (6th std & 2nd std) she endured that too. When i was in 8th std my father started turning angry towards me - he’d drink and abuse me and her alot (this would be once or twice a year)
I always was very protective towards her so i would face him and try to protect her as much as i could. In 2021 ig such thing happened again so 3 of us went to my nani’s house. My father wouldn’t call us or ask us to come back till he pleased then he did end up calling us to come back we did, i completed my schooling and things started to get normal.
Till 2023 where she again got fed up and by this time he was cheating again openly in front of me and even my brother knew. so she asked us if she can go and live as he is not changing.
I asked her to go and live her life, she did go away and i suffered from depression in that time. She eventually herself only came back after 9 months to sort things out.
And things finally felt normal after that, in place getting smoother. Father’s behaviour improving as my mother was very forgiving (not glorifying it).
But things got better and then 2024 august hit us where she faced heart failure— none of us thought she would survive at all i still remember the day i had to endure. With god’s grace she again survived and came back but again quickly faced another same episode in december 2024.
Now she was finally looking healthy after it her health was significantly better due to changed meds better understanding of what causes her problem. We all were happy finally i started earning just a little (i’m 22 now).
My brother just turned 18 last month , we all were finally happy stable finances , happy environment , better connection with each other. And then she just got severe headache one day , we took her to hospital they injected her and asked ys to admit her but we couldn’t afford a private hospital so we took her to RML (previous treatment) they said it’s nothing take these meds come back after 3 days.
We took her home she was under high sedation speaking gibberish we thought by morning she’ll be better we’ll take her to a good doc. But she didn’t wake up , she left me all alone . My pyari mumma in front of whom i always had a brave face and never showed love but loved her with all my heart is gone now. idk what to do.
GBA posted about this poster removal drive. Will it be done all over Bangalore? Will they only remove posters that did not go through usual ad channels (like did not pay them before). Will they remove political posters too?
I went on a quick walk on the Durgam Cheruvu bridge on a Sunday night. Went there with two female friends for a quick photo. And I noticed that the catcalling was constant with bikes slowing down, comments, and creepy men just staring as if they haven't seen women before. As a local, it just feels so embarrassing that this is happening. Most of these are young guys triple riding on scooters - no helmets and just being dumbasses.
Shouting at them or picking a fight seems like a lost cause, these guys are chaotic. But I also don't want them to have no consequence.
I'm posting this partly to vent, but also genuinely asking: what can I or my female friends actually do in these situations?
A woman running an online fashion business sent three expensive pashmina shawls through the postal department. The parcel was worth Rs.60,000. But the package never reached the customer. After months of running from office to office, she finally took the matter to the Consumer Court.
The postal department tried to avoid responsibility. Officials argued that the parcel was not insured and the exact value of the items was not disclosed at the time of booking. They also claimed the department cannot be held responsible for lost parcels during transit.
But the Consumer Court did not accept these excuses. Records from the postal department itself showed the parcel was marked as “item lost.” The Commission said once a customer pays for a postal service, the department has a duty to deliver the package safely. Losing the parcel clearly amounted to poor service.
The Court ordered compensation for the business owner and also awarded damages for the mental stress and harassment caused.
The case is now sparking debate online. Should government postal services be held fully accountable for lost parcels? Or should customers always buy insurance for valuable shipments?
What do you think?

Most of you probably have no idea who he was. Some of you might vaguely know him by reputation only. A few of you might actually have been a patient or had family members who were patients at some point.
He was a founding member of the Institute for Psychiatric Health in Thane. He did a lot of pioneering work in the field of mental health in India and was instrumental in reducing the stigma surrounding it. He also had a lot of published works on the subject in Marathi.
I used to sleep by 2:30am, earlier. But then I started sleeping at 3:00am, 3:30am, 4:00am, 5:00am, it was becoming a habit. I was watching reels, scrolling reddit, binge watching series! During winters, bec of the delay in sunrise, I started sleeping at 6 am.
My body got used to this routine, but my brain fog increased & energy levels decreased. I stopped eating breakfast also and skipped many interviews. I know that it was all because of anxiety and overthinking. I started feeling safe this way, idk how and why.
During winters, I was sleeping by 6 but after winters, 6: 30am, then 7am,..it went up to 8am and it impacted my mood and everything in a very negative way. I even started working at night. My creative mind was active at night only. I couldn't focus during the day.
Today I was going to sleep at 8:30 am☠️ and I could feel some weird symptoms, It was almost like I'm losing control, like my body is losing balance, and there was slight dizziness.
Sleep is good. It helps us,..I've learnt this. Your mind is clever, when it's time to get up from sleep, it demands 2 more minutes and when it's time to go to sleep, it demands 20 more minutes.
These days I see many people sleep late, I request you to just try, I will also try from today! If you sleep at 3, try sleeping at 2:30am. If you sleep at 5, try sleeping by 4. You can do it!!
POCSO is a very sensitive topic. Sexual offences against children have been happening for ages, and to prevent such cruel acts they came up with strict laws. There wasn’t a single popular movie before “Court” that took POCSO as its central theme, so for most audiences this was probably their first exposure to what the law actually is and why such strictness exists in the first place.
But instead of first establishing why the law is necessary and the kind of trauma children go through, the film directly jumps into the “misuse” angle of the law. Even while giving context, instead of showing how fragile and legally complicated consensual intimacy between minors can be because of their age, the director stages it through “bommala pelli aata.” He should have made it clearer that even consensual intimacy between minors still falls under a legal issue because they are minors.
Now look at the Bandi Bhageerath case. So many influencers, already armed with pre-written narratives, started comparing it to “Court” and pushing the idea that the victim’s side is misusing the law for money. See the kind of damage a film like this can do to public understanding? Victims who come forward after surviving trauma and gathering immense courage are instead met with slut shaming, victim blaming, and accusations that it’s a “false case,” just like in the movie. That is bizarre and honestly dangerous.
A film dealing with such a sensitive law should have been far more responsible before centering the misuse narrative. I genuinely don’t understand how this got made with people like Nani and Darshi involved, considering they usually associate with films that carry sensitivity and good intentions.
The govt just dropped this massive full-page, self-pat-on-the-back ad for Ksrtc and Bmtc. It looks fantastic on paper but anyone who actually relies on public transport here knows the ground reality hits a bit differently. Some points on these
740cr free tickets? : Empowering women with free travel is objectively a good welfare initiative. However the the raw numbers completely ignore the chaos it caused. capacity was never scaled up to match this massive surge in demand.
Project Majestic - "Plan Initiated" - why on earth would you call plan initiated as an acheivement. This usually means they had a board meeting and made a ppt slides. while, the actual bus station remains a chaotic, poorly lit, and unhygenic.
Digital Initiatives & "52% UPI Payments" : Lol. mentioning the 'Namma BMTC' app as an achievement is wild !!! Consider its. notorious bugs, fantom buses on the map, and a UI straight out of 2012.
New bus introduction: They claim thousands of new buses, including EVs. That sounds great until you realize why does the wait time on major routes feel longer than it did three years ago?
120 Cr for Bus Terminals - thats a peanut considering the scale and the number of bus stands and stops. Half the stops does not even have a basic roof to shied commuters from rain or sun.
My 2 paise, spending taxpayer money on glossy ads doesn't make the daily commute any less of a struggle.
Mumbai's suburban local trains are super crowded, but the Blue Line of the Mumbai Metro (Line 1) from Versova to Ghatkopar literally leaves you feeling blue. The Versova-Ghatkopar Blue Line metro has the eighth-highest passenger density of any metro line in the world.
The Red and Yellow Lines (Line 2A and 7) are also crowded during peak hours. However, the Aqua Line (Line 3) traverses the length of the island city, is very swanky and is on a route where ideally passenger density should be high, but yet the Aqua Line can be empty during non-peak hours and is fairly comfortable even during peak hours. Why does one Mumbai Metro line have the eight-highest passenger density of any metro line in the world while the Aqua Line, which is supposedly a far more important line, remain fairly empty at many times?
Here's why, IMO.
Utilisation of each metro line anywhere in the world depends on alternative modes of transport, last mile connectivity and cost of travel.
On all these parameters the Aqua line (Line 3) seems to fall short. I’m not saying it is too expensive (not an expert on cost), but the fact is that the Aqua Line route is fairly parallel to Mumbai’s suburban railway network (North-South). Second, it runs parallel to the least choked part of the suburban network (between the Central and Western lines).
Tickets on the suburban railway start at Rs 5 while Aqua line tickets start at Rs 30. Yes, I knows its airconditioned, etc, but please bear with me. Now imagine you wanted to travel from Borivali to Churchgate via metro. You need to take 3 separate metros, each with its own individual ticketing system and security. Borivali to Churchgate on the suburban railway (Western Railway) is a single train with ample trains (crowded yes, but lots of trains) and cost in second class is Rs 15 while if you use the three metro lines total cost is Rs 130 (Rs 40 from Borivali West to Gundavali / Rs 20 from WEH to Marol Naka and Rs 70 from Marol Naka to Churchgate). Even a first class ticket in the suburban railway will cost just Rs 85 from Borivali to Churchgate. And railways also have season passes and a first class monthly pass costs Rs 750 for the same route with unlimited travel. Does the economics of metro travel in Mumbai make sense?
It's not that metro travel is convenient too--you have to change stations twice on the Borivali to Churchgate route, get new tickets thrice and go through security thrice. It’s also slower and may take far longer because on the Western Railway there are suburban fast trains while metros stop at every station. So suburban railway (Western Railway) is quicker and more convenient. Who will choose 3 metro lines just because it’s airconditioned? Besides the fact that there are some suburban AC trains too today. And you can substitute Borivali with Goregaon or Jogeshwari and the issues are the same.
Second, railway stations are well connected by public transit for the last mile, which is not the case with Aqua Line, or frankly any metro line in Mumbai. BEST bus routes end at railway stations, there are lots of autos, etc. If metro travel is 6X to 8X the cost of suburban railway and there’s no proper public transit at stations, it makes things even more expensive, and awfully inconvenient.
Also, globally metros are usually networks, where you may not have direct connectivity but there are easy interchanges, but thanks to the strange planning in Mumbai each metro is literally a standalone line with very poor interchange infrastructure. Just go through Marol Naka, which is a joke compared to interchanges in India itself--Hauz Khas on the Delhi Metro for instance.
Lack of basic mobile connectivity on the Aqua Line is just icing on the bitter cake.
A line like Blue Line (Line 1) between Versova and Ghatkopar is super crowded because there are no decent alternatives and it is far, far quicker than road.
But not being close to planned capacity is an issue throughout India. Line 1 may be super dense when it comes to passenger traffic but no other line in Mumbai is close. Other than the Delhi Metro no metro network is close to its planned capacity. Does it reflect poor planning and in small cities horrible wastage in public infrastructure? A BBC analysis seems to suggest so: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c4g833128vlo
How are small hotels and restaurants supposed to survive with these commercial LPG prices?
I genuinely want to ask this because I run a small hotel business in Tamil Nadu, and the current commercial cylinder prices are becoming unbearable.
Just around a year or two ago, commercial LPG cylinders were around ₹1700–₹1900. Even when domestic cylinders were around ₹900–₹1000, the difference still felt somewhat manageable.
But now?
A domestic cylinder costs around ₹1050, while a commercial cylinder is crossing ₹3300.
How does this even make sense?
A domestic cylinder is around 14–15 kg, while a commercial one is around 19 kg. Yet somehow commercial users are paying almost DOUBLE the price per kg.
People sitting online will say:
“Businesses should pay market rates.”
Fine. But do people understand how badly this affects small businesses?
We are not giant restaurant chains with huge profits. Small hotels, tea shops, messes, bakeries, roadside eateries — we run on very tight margins.
Every single thing has already become expensive:
- cooking oil
- vegetables
- rent
- electricity
- salaries
- delivery costs
And now LPG too?
Customers get angry if food prices increase by even ₹5 or ₹10. But how are we supposed to absorb these costs forever?
What hurts most is the sudden jump. From around ₹1800 to ₹3300 is not a normal increase. It’s massive.
At some point, it feels like small businesses are just being squeezed from every direction while policymakers sit in AC rooms talking about “market adjustments.”
I’m honestly curious:
How are other small hotel owners and restaurant owners managing this situation right now?
HSR Layout is not safe anymore. Delivery boys are identifying valuables and then stealing it. No quick action or help from anyone, can someone help in finding a way to get my articles back. Attaching video so that all knows whats happening in HSR
Hyderabad is definitely getting expensive especially for middle class with soaring rents, school fees, and so on. Although I feel pockets of Hyderabad are still cheap where the locals live.
So, i (30M) have started speaking to someone in Mumbai via Shaadi. Com and to meet her i had come to. Mumbai this weekend. We visited Juhu beach, Marine drive, Vashi etc and one thing which has surprised me the most is whichever restaurant or place i go, i am able to see an equivalent amount of women in large numbers.
Like lots of girl gangs, elder women gangs etc. I have visited all other metros and have been to all major cities in India, but even compared to Kolkata i am seeing more women. And it is not only in posh places. She took me to some Chowpatty area where there were small shops and there as well, i can see women in large numbers even at late night. It is refreshing to see and since there are women around always, i felt more comfortable going out with her late night than i do in my own city. This is an appreciation post, yes, but i also want Mumbaikars opinion on this.
Don't get thrown off by the specificity of the title. I give way too much importance to my hair and would like to get a satisfying haircut but the catch is, my spoken Hindi is very bad as i'm not from around here.
Please suggest a salon with barbers that won't have much communication barriers with me (M btw).
TL;DR Parents want to buy a 20+ year old commercial basement (Vyapar Kendra type complex) actually worth ₹60L but registering at ₹92L to extract a larger loan in my name. Loan is sanctioned, mortgage deed signing in 1-2 weeks. I'll be primary borrower, mom will be on title. Their plan relies on a ₹32L "refund" from the seller (verbal only), ₹60k/month rent (no written agreement), and selling at ₹1.4cr in 5 years. I've run the numbers every way I can and best case is +₹6-26L, realistic case is -₹15L plus destroyed credit. Need a sanity check before I sign.
About me 25 years old, ₹1L/month gross salary
CIBIL 770, zero existing debt
Currently contribute ₹40-50k/month to household
₹20k/month personal savings
About parents Both in 50s
₹0 liquid savings (literally zero, I've verified)
Dad's business + mom's income together generate ₹25-20k/month profit
Both CIBIL below 650 (dad's negligence on past dues)
Already sunk ₹5-6L into renovating the basement space
The property Commercial basement, 20+ years old, in a saturated Vyapar Kendra
Actual price: ₹60L
Registered price: ₹92L (over-invoicing to extract bigger loan)
Current rental potential: ₹40-60k/month (commercial basement, not premium)
The loan structure Loan amount: ₹92L
Tenure: 20 years
Rate: 9.5% (ICICI estimate)
EMI: ₹85,750/month (about 85% of my gross salary)
Total payable over 20 years: ₹2.05cr
Primary borrower: me (my CIBIL, my PAN, my income)
Title: mom's name
Status: ₹1cr sanctioned, mortgage deed not yet signed
What I've signed: loan application, KYC, bank forms. What I haven't signed: mortgage deed, personal guarantee.
Their plan Bank disburses ₹92L to seller
Seller "refunds" ₹32L back to parents in cash (verbal commitment, no documentation)
Parents use that ₹32L to prepay the loan in year 1
Rent out for ₹60k/month (WhatsApp commitment from one prospective tenant, no written agreement)
Sell in 5 years for ₹1.4cr
Their projected profit: ₹40L over 5 years.
Where I think this falls apart 1. The exit price is fantasy. Commercial property is priced on rental yield, not on what was registered. At ₹60k/month rent (₹7.2L/year), buyers expect 6-10% yield on a property like this. That puts realistic market value at ₹72L-₹1.2cr at the high end, and most likely ₹60-90L given it's a 20-year-old basement in a saturated market. To hit ₹1.4cr would need 18.5% CAGR from actual purchase price. Commercial RE in India typically does 3-8%. Older basements often do 0-3%. 2. The prepayment trick has problems. I thought stepping up EMI/prepaying would help. Then I learned: Commercial property loans often have 2-4% prepayment penalty (different from home loans where RBI mandates zero penalty)
Banks default to tenure reduction, not EMI reduction. You have to specifically request EMI reduction in writing
ICICI hasn't confirmed yet whether this is classified as home loan or commercial/LAP
Even if everything works perfectly and EMI drops to ~₹55k after year 1 prepayment, year 1 itself costs ₹10.29L in EMI against ₹7.2L rent. That's a ₹3L gap in year 1 alone, which has to come from somewhere (my savings, or worse). 3. The ₹32L refund has zero protection. It's a verbal commitment from a property seller. If he doesn't refund, the entire plan collapses and I'm holding a ₹92L loan against a ₹60L asset. 4. The tenant has zero commitment. WhatsApp message from one prospective tenant. No written agreement, no security deposit discussion, nothing. They can walk away in month 2 and I'm paying ₹85k EMI on a vacant basement. 5. Hidden costs nobody mentioned: Extra stamp duty on inflated registration: ~₹1.6L paid today
Extra interest on the ₹32L inflated portion during year 1: ~₹3L
Capital gains tax on eventual sale (12.5% without indexation or 20% with): ₹5-6L if they actually achieve ₹1.4cr
6. The buyer problem in year 5. If actual market value is ₹70-90L, who pays ₹1.4cr? Only another person running the same over-invoicing scam. That's a tiny buyer pool and unpredictable timing. Genuine buyers will offer market rate.
Realistic scenario I'm staring at Year 1: -₹3L (rent vs full EMI gap) Year 2: tenant stays, marginal positive Year 3: tenant leaves, replacement at ₹40k or vacant Years 4-5: ₹30-40k rent, ongoing EMI Total 5-year cash bleed from my salary: ₹12-15L Sale at realistic ₹60-80L, outstanding loan ~₹53L Net 5-year position: -₹10L to -₹15L Default scenario: tenant leaves early, parents can't fund the gap, I default. Bank auctions at ~₹45L. I owe ₹47L deficiency. CIBIL drops to sub-500 for 7+ years. Future home loan, car loan, even some jobs become impossible.
Am I understanding this correctly or genuinely missing something?
I have 1-2 weeks before the mortgage deed signing. Not married to any decision yet.
Note: i have used claude to write and calculate this as for easier understanding.
Lately, a really specific kind of exhaustion has been eating up all my energy. It’s the creeping realization of how incredibly expensive the absolute baseline of life has become. I’m not talking about luxury upgrades; I mean the casual stuff we used to not think twice about. Grabbing a quick bite outside, booking a flight for a usual route, doing basic online shopping, or even just covering the labor costs for the routine plumbing and repair work I have to deal with every other month. Every single everyday transaction feels like it carries this new, heavy friction that wasn't there before.
We all know the trigger—the ripple effects of global instability and the situation in the Middle East—but the part that actually keeps me up is the permanence of it all. It’s the open secret that once the market forces us to pay a higher price due to supply issues, it almost never reverts. Even when the dust settles and the raw material costs drop back down, the final commodity prices just stay where they peaked. We essentially prove to the system that we will pay the inflated price, so it simply becomes the new normal.
This realization is building up a silent, creeping tension inside me that is honestly hard to shake. It feels exactly like that hollow, pit-in-your-stomach dread you’d get the night before a massive, high-stakes exam—just this constant, low-grade anxiety where you feel like you are bracing yourself for a test you can't control. It’s a very quiet fear of realizing the floor is constantly rising beneath us, and I just can't be the only one feeling this specific kind of background dread right now.
Putting my 2 year old female cat which I had since childhood for adoption, since due to my mental health severity i feel like lately I am not able to give her a proper home.
She is vaccinated dewormed and a house cat with me since I picked her at 2 months old.
Looking for family to adopt her. Please dm if really interested.
I’m an IT employee, wife is homemaker, and we have a 3-year-old kid. We’ve been staying in Lingampally for 3 years paying 23k rent, but owner recently asked us to vacate. Similar houses here are now 28k+.
I only go to office 2 days/week (Hitec City) and start early around 7:30 AM in my car. Recently visited Mallampet and really liked the wide roads, organized layouts, peaceful vibe, and schools around there. Rents are also much lower, so I can save around 10k/month.
Do you think moving to Mallampet/Bachupally side is a good idea for long-term family living? Any negatives I should consider? Also suggest any good family-friendly areas under 20k rent even if commute is around 1 hour.
Please be aware of some unethical practices by Urban Company technicians.
I live near Tin Factory, Bangalore. Recently, my washing machine stopped draining water and showed a “DE” error, so I booked an Urban Company repair service. The technician claimed both the PCB and drain motor were faulty and quoted around ₹3400 for repairs.
I decided to get a second opinion from a local technician, who checked properly and confirmed that only the drain motor was faulty. He also showed me that the PCB was working fine and supplying current correctly. After replacing just the drain motor, the machine started working perfectly , Paid 1600 to him including part charge and visit charge
Sharing this so others stay careful and take a second opinion before agreeing to expensive repairs. I’ve also heard similar complaints during AC servicing, where customers are often told gas refilling is needed even when it may not actually be required.
So i recently got a job and they are providing medical insurance with a coverage of 2LPa. I got so many skin issues and crooked teeth, is it possible for me to claim that 2L during treatment? Or how does it work?
Hey guys I m actually taking admission in 1st year bsc in data science and my mom is single parent soo could u all suggest me which kind of job I should do i m not 18 yet but I'll turn 18 next month which is june 24 soo plzz if u guys had done jobs and have experience plz lemme know kinda confused need advice 🥲
Missed watching this masterpiece in theatres back in 2022 and always regretted it a little. Finally got to experience it today at Prasads PCX and man… what an experience 😭 The sound, the scale, the jet sequences — everything felt insane on that giant screen. Not IMAX, but PCX absolutely delivered the madness and goosebumps. What a way to end the day honestly ✈️🔥
I have been working in Mumbai since June 2023, and 53k salary in hand (it was firstly 44k). But I don't have any savings. I didn't write every penny of my expenses, I spend ( 8-9k on rent, 3-4k travelling, 5-7k for food expenses). by this simple idea, i should have good saving in 3 yr, but my situation is this, I start counting days for salary credit in month's last 7-8 days. Sometimes I borrow from friends 3-4k for my month's last day's expenses.
Where is my money going. How can I save, and I actually have to because my family is big ( like my father is a small farmer and I have 6 sis, I don't have any brother)
I’m a 19-year-old B.Tech student from a tier-2 city, and honestly, sometimes all of this really bothers me. The food we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink — almost everything around us feels polluted or unhealthy in some way.
What upsets me the most is packaged food. Everywhere you look, shelves are filled with products loaded with artificial flavors, preservatives, unnecessary sugar, chemicals, and things our bodies probably never needed in the first place. And the sad part is, people have started treating it like it’s normal.
I’m not trying to sound negative or act like I know everything. I just genuinely wonder why more people aren’t speaking about these things. We talk a lot about growth, technology, and development, but what’s the point if our health keeps getting worse day by day?
Sometimes it feels depressing to see how casually we ignore all this. I just wish more people would raise their voices for healthier food, cleaner air, cleaner water, and a better future. Because in the end, none of these things should be considered a luxury — they’re basic necessities for every human being.
!! This is happening because society has normalized unhealthy living. Most people are busy with phones, endless scrolling, entertainment, and comfort while industries keep profiting from it. We are not just consuming junk food anymore — we are consuming chemicals that slowly weaken our bodies and increase diseases.
And if you think this doesn’t make sense, then just do one thing: start reading the ingredients in the food and water you consume daily. Search those ingredients on ChatGPT or Google and see their long-term effects. Then ask yourself — are we really earning and spending money just to make our bodies weaker and slowly destroy our own health?
Thanks to all who turned up and made it a great success! We hope you all enjoyed the learning, the activity, the food, and the community...and we hope to see even more people next time!
Does anyone wanna go out for a game of tennis in hyd around? I have played couple of times and loved playing it though i’ve been very beginner with a lots of sorry’s but would love to go on regular basis with someone atleast twice a month.
I have started a web agency and it's like 5-6 months
I want suggestions from you guys. As of now I'm thinking to do the developing part alone.
I need ways to approach clients and local businesses.
I have tried cold calling a lot of business, but I feel I'm not for it. I tried hiring people from reddit and real life too, but they eventually didn't consider working along this business.
I tried reddit posting, it works but to some extent. Like can't really spam you know.
How do I get clients.
Now I have built a good portfolio, good enough for a client to hand me over a project.
But struggling for clients.....
Any suggestions, any help regarding it would be much appreciated.
I am all into this agency right now to the extent that,
If someone offered you ₹1 crore for a one-night, fully consensual encounter with no future contact, no emotional attachment, and complete privacy, would you consider it?
I’m not asking this to judge anyone’s answer. I’m curious about how people think about money, boundaries, intimacy, and personal values in an extreme hypothetical situation.
Guys, let’s make this boring Sunday evening a little interesting with some story sessions.
So, i got one story of my own. This is one of the incident that happened around me before covid early morning when me and my friends went to play cricket in a park(district park - they are huge in size) so during our commotion towards the place where we used to play, we saw a doll either red painted or of blood (i don’t know) was hanging on a tree. Couple of my friends made it fall by hitting it with pebbles and then played football with it. So, during the time we were playing both of them got severely injured when falling down during catching the ball and other got hit on face (the ball we played with - season(leather) ball) both got hurt and had some bruises on their body.
I do not believe in ghosts but this one thing happened around me. Wanted to share my creepy experience would like to listen up from you guys as well!
I travelled on ORR to and from TGPA to Dundigal and back. Interestingly onward journey costed me a toll of 110 rupees while return trip was charged Rs. 55. I'm new to this ORR toll thingy, can someone help me understand this please? Thanks!!
I went for a walk to the nearby district park, wore a very normal tank top and joggers. But literally a group of guys stared at me for good 5mins and then followed me around the park. I had to go and stand near a group of people who were playing badminton because I felt very unsafe.
I noticed so many men staring at me, it was creepy af. It’s exhausting to be on guard 24/7. How do the girlies go for walks and runs in this city????
I know the said DCP is corrupt and has 2 flats in a posh location in South Delhi. Where should I file an FIR or take action against him? Also, will the police arrest him based on evidence?
A couple of months back I realised Bengaluru’s weather had become unusually harsh. The heat felt different this year. Around the same time, I also noticed something else.
Our terrace has more than 30 flowering plants, and usually there are bees constantly moving around them. But this time, there were barely any. The difference was noticeable enough that it started bothering me.
I spent some time reading about pollinators, urban heat, dehydration stress, and how extreme temperatures affect bee activity in cities. One thing that repeatedly came up was that during harsh weather, accessible sugar water and water sources can temporarily help exhausted bees recover energy.
So we decided to try something simple.
We designed a small bee feeder, 3D printed it, took an empty cola bottle, and filled it with a light sugar-water mix using processed sugar at roughly 20–30% concentration. We placed it on the terrace in a shaded corner with enough open space around it, away from heavy human or animal movement.
For the first few days, nothing happened.
Then around day 3 or 4, suddenly there were bees everywhere.
Now every morning they arrive almost on schedule, waiting near the feeder to be refilled. It has quietly become part of my daily routine. I’ve always fed larger animals and kept water outside for birds, dogs, and cows, but this made me realise how easy it is to overlook smaller living creatures even though they are just as important to the ecosystem around us.
I do plan to reduce and eventually stop the feeding once the weather improves. I specifically looked into research around dependency and natural foraging behaviour, and temporary support during extreme conditions seems to be the better approach.
We also keep bowls of water outside for birds, and a larger water station for dogs and cows near the house. We got the animal water bowl setup for free from Instagram: waterforvoiceless.
Just wanted to share this small ritual because it unexpectedly brought me a lot of joy and perspective.
Compassion should not stop at humans or pets. We coexist with these creatures, not above them. Even small acts matter.
At a time when the real estate prices are sky high and no possible economic indicator will tell you to invest there, these brokers are coming up with false promises of 30 years ahead. We don’t even know whether the world will exist seeing the way we are moving ahead.
I learnt a costly life lesson in Hyderabad. Back in October 2025, our cook asked for ₹10,000 advance before going home for Diwali. He said things like: “Bhaiya thoda advance chahiye , ghar jaa raha Hun bacchon ke lie kapde lene hein ,Bhaiya aap aise mat samjhiye ki me paisa leke bhag jaunga… me yahin hostel me kaam karta hun.” He promised he’d return after Diwali. I trusted him and transferred the full amount because honestly, I felt bad for him. After that, he disappeared. Didn’t pick calls. Didn’t reply properly. Then in February I found out he was back in Hyderabad. Every month after that: “Next month de dunga bhaiya.” After months of follow-ups, he finally gave me a date: 12th May. Called him again no response. Today I called from my friend’s number and asked: “Bhaiya paisa kab lautaenge?” His response: “Nahi lautaenge. Jo karna hai kar lijiye.” At this point it’s not even about ₹10,000 anymore. It’s about how casually people break trust after emotionally manipulating you.
3 lessons I learnt: Never give large cash advances without written proof.
Don’t let emotions override common sense.
If you lend money, assume there’s a chance you may never get it back.
This is one of the more premium malls in the city, but it is been 25 mins and I am still in the car, the queue for parking is insane. Total mismanagement, the cars entering have spilled on the street, valet parking is not available as there is no manpower. This is beyond reprehensible.
They charge 200 bucks for parking with this kind of facility. Absolutely ridiculous situation.
Mods: is this post wrong or derogatory in anyway? It was removed once and I can’t tell why!
I keep seeing people driving two wheelers while scrolling their phones. Every day i see at least 1-2 people doing this. They're almost crashing into pedestrians or other vehicles. Its so dangerous and stupid. People on the road have to be at risk of injury and death because people can't stay off their phone.
Is it too much to ask to keep the phone away while driving?
So, last week I was in Mumbai for Visa Appointment and had to travel from Santacruz to Cuffe Parade, I travelled via Aqua Line. The Metro experience was fantastic considering that I mostly use Pune Metro.
But what surprised me was the ridership, hardly 10 people were there in entire 8 coach metro. What's the reason behind this? I was expecting that the metro would be crowded since it's passing through the most populated suburbs of city..
I joined Sunny Driving Trainer Delhi after seeing good reviews and ratings. He asked me to pay ₹3000 in advance for 15 days of classes.
On the first day, I went with my father and idk why he got furious. Despite telling him clearly that I was a complete amateur, he took me straight onto the main road and was extremely strict.
On day two, when I went alone, his behaviour completely changed. He became very abusive and even asked if I had some mental issue.
After this incident, I told my parents and they told me not to continue. I went with my mother to ask for the remaining money back, but he got angry, said “ladies ko beech mein kyu la raha hai,” and told us he didn’t have the money right now. He promised to return it after 2 days.
It’s been over a month now and he has blocked all my family’s contact numbers.
Please downrate him so that he can’t scam more people like this.
Last week, I went to the airport to drop my brother off. Since this was our first time, we waited for 5 hours outside the airport, from Security to Immigration to the Onboarding of my brother. By 6.30 we were planning to take a taxi, and I stopped a taxi whose driver was asking for 1800 just to drop off at Tardeo, Mumbai Central, and I didn't notice, but he was chased by a security guard, and I was been called out by him (guard), and I was chasing the taxi and wondering why he was running away from me. Like, I was confused, and he finally ran off.
When I stopped, the guard explained to me that he was a scammer, and he must have put a hefty price, which was true, and further, he advised us to use Metro and explained how these taxi drivers charged 18,000 from NRI couple
I’m posting this on behalf of my close friend and their family, who are going through the hardest time of their lives right now.
Their 46-year-old father, Bixapathi Kallem, is currently in critical condition in the ICU at Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, fighting acute-on-chronic liver failure.
Everything happened very suddenly. He suffered a massive internal bleed caused by esophageal varices, which led to hemorrhagic shock, severe blood loss, kidney failure, and complete medical instability. Right now, he is on a ventilator for breathing support and undergoing continuous dialysis (CRRT) to keep his organs functioning.
The doctors have made it clear that his only real chance of survival is an urgent liver transplant.
The estimated cost for the ICU treatment, dialysis, and transplant procedures is around ₹40 lakhs. His family has already exhausted their savings and paid large upfront hospital deposits, but they cannot manage this amount alone in such a short time.
We are requesting anyone who can help — even a small contribution matters immensely right now.
Account Holder Name: Shwetha Kallem (Bixapathi's daughter) Account Number: 7256503911 Bank Name: Indian Bank IFSC Code: IDIB000Y011
We would also deeply appreciate any help in connecting with legitimate organ donor networks, transplant coordinators, or anyone who may be able to guide us regarding liver donors and the transplant process.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this post with others. A simple share could help this reach someone who may be able to save his life.
We can also provide official hospital estimation letters, ICU bills, laboratory reports, and other medical documents from Yashoda Hospital for verification if needed.
How is this even approved? I have no idea what’s being noted down by them and it doesn’t even look official. This is in Andheri West of all places. No, this does not come from a place of resentment but sure puts me on edge. Being in Maharashtra, it should have been in Marathi (I’m not a Maharashtraian), I can at least read what’s being noted down and the questions too.
The person in the picture is a petrol pump operator in an Indian oil pump near Sanjay nagar .
Last night , after filling in the petrol I attempted to make a UPI payment of Rs 3000 via PhonePe . The money got debited but got stuck and didn’t credit to theirs . The transaction was stuck in a processing state.
I waited for some time , the operator insisted that I make the payment again on another QR and assured in case the first payment goes through he would send me my money back .
I was hesitant at first , but as there was no better option available I trusted the operator and went ahead with it . To be safe , I took this picture and noted his number just in case i run into some issue with the refund later .
2 hours later , I get a call from him saying that he received the money via the first payment and refunded that amount gracefully.
People who are not doing so well financially but are honest and have high integrity impress me immensely . And that is the point of this post.
God bless this man !
Edit ( as people have requested in comments ):
Place : Sangam service station , it is a BPCL petrol station in Sadashiv nagar ( I was on my way back from Sanjay nagar towards Jp nagar)
Name of the operator : Dasarlahalli Venkataravana ( the name on the PhonePe account from where the money was refunded back)
Absolute shame! Peaceful students who were just standing and demanding fair evaluation/re-evaluation have been ARRESTED by the police. They are being taken to MANDIR MARK POLICE STATION.
Is asking for transparency a crime in this country? Why is the voice of lakhs of students being suppressed instead of giving answers?
My neighbors have completely blocked the street with a pooja setup, leaving barely any space for vehicles access. This is a public residential road, not a private lane. Autos, bikes, delivery vehicles, and even emergency access would be difficult right now.
Think about 2014 and why BJP came to power. The main reason was inflation. Inflation went out of control in 2012 and 2013. It was around 10%. The second reason was the many scams that made headlines, like the 2G and the coal. 2008 commonwealth scam also played a role. The third reason was Modi’s image and the work he had done in Gujarat.
Now think about the 2029 election. As the government is saying, inflation could go out of control again. If inflation goes above 10%, the same factor that helped Modi and BJP for the last 12 years could start working against them.
One reason BJP benefited over the past 12 years was that crude oil prices mostly stayed below $100 per barrel, except for a short period during the Russia-Ukraine war. It wasn’t a problem much because we were getting discounted russian oil. But in 2013, when Congress was in power, crude oil stayed above $100 for a longer time. That pushed inflation higher.
If inflation rises above 10% and stays there for several months, public trust in Modi could weaken. One of Modi’s main election messages in 2014 was, “Khub hui mehngai ki maar, ab ki baar Modi sarkar.” Congress understands this and has already started using phrases like “Mehngai Man Modi.”
If the government fails to control inflation and keep it around 7% to 8%, BJP could face serious political damage. The UP election next year will also be very important. If inflation is not under control before that election and BJP loses UP, it could become very difficult for the party in the 2029 general election.
Another factor is Modi’s age. By 2029, he will be around 78 or 79 years old. Some voters may feel he is too old to continue as the PM face for another term.
It's almost 3 am and I just witnessed a brutal hit and run near narsingi ORR (hope that's the right place I'm really new to this city).
Me and my friend were out for a night drive when we witnessed a horrific accident where a car smashed a blinkit delivery guy and just ran off. I immediately told him to turn around, we were on the other side of the road so by the time we got to the guy, the car drove off but we decided to look at the guy.
He must be in shock so he was laying still for few seconds and it genuinely scared the shit out of me but then he moved and we got him up. Thankfully more people came (I'm glad people came to help), we called the ambulance which took 30 mins to come (the most infuriating thing and I also realised if it was a life death situation, that guy wouldn't have made it). I'm so thankful to God he did not have any life threatening injuries though he was bleeding a lot.
His friends came to help, we all got him in the ambulance and I really hope he gets better soon. Later one of the dudes told us that the car driver was a guy and in the backseat there were 3 girls so they were probably high or drunk because the accident was brutal.
I feel so shocked because of someone else's mistake you can lose your life in an instant.
Hi guys. Due to recent heatwave in Delhi, my birth certificate has spontaneously combusted leaving me with no formal proof of my recorded birthdate.
Unlike the birth of Buddha and other enlightened beings, there is no celestial event corresponding to my birth and thus secondary sources are unviable.
I am not on talking terms with my family members who level fake allegations on me such as I engage in shtposting and what not. I can't ask them.
That only leaves the option of carbon dating or enamel dating to ascertain my age of birth.
First of all, i want to say that i am posting this out if genuine helplessness and exhaustion and not out of lack of respect to any religion. Hoping fir some solutions
I live in Kerala, near a mosque, and I don’t know what to do anymore. The early morning azaan starts around 4:45 AM these days. I completely understand and respect that it is an important part of people’s faith, and I am not posting this with any hatred or disrespect. I work late into the night, and my sleep has become really fragmented because of this. I wake up suddenly every morning and then struggle to fall asleep again. Over time it’s started affecting my health, focus, mood, and work.
I’m not a muslim and am honestly scared to approach the mosque authorities directly because I don’t want to create conflict or be misunderstood. Has anyone here dealt with something similar? What practical solutions worked for you? I tried white noise and earplugs, but those didn’t help.
I’m genuinely exhausted and looking for help, not trying to offend anyone.
Hello guys, There is a PG/retail building coming up in front of my society. They are now building a wall ON THE FOOTPATH For last 2 year they had blocked the footpath with construction. Now they have the audacity to build a wall
I can’t see this happen. Want to know where I can complain about this so that some action is taken and this is demolished before it gets completed
Following his yesterday’s hate speech, CJI Surya Kant has now given a clarification. He claims that it was merely an oral observation, and only referred to the people with alleged fake degrees. He has also declared his love and respect for the youth.
Unfortunately, this clarification is hogwash. Mr Kant does not understand the seriousness of this hate speech or the importance of the office he is dragging through the mud. Oral or written, his hate speech was made in a court, not in any private conversation.
That, he called any person cockroach and parasite, reveals a shocking mentality of the person in charge of highest court.
This is not the first time that Mr Kant has used threats and abuses from his court.
Mr CJI, we reject your clarification. Kindly resign from your office.
Visited a famous Shiva temple near Bangalore recently, known for having koti lingams (almost 1 crore Shiva statues).
Honestly, I came back more disturbed than peaceful.
From the entrance itself it felt more like business than devotion. Everywhere people forcing malas, pujas, special rituals, prasadam, asking money at every step. One pujari literally asked me “don’t you want to get married?” when I refused a paid abhishekam.
Even inside the temple, everything felt transactional. Blessings, flowers, rituals all connected to money somehow.
I’m not against donations. Temples need money to run. But this felt different. Aggressive. Emotional pressure everywhere.
I usually love small local temples because they still feel peaceful and genuine.
Maybe people will say “this is normal.”
But honestly… I don’t think this should be normal.
As an Indian, this genuinely hurt me. Temples are supposed to make people feel equal before God, not feel like customers.
And if this is what I felt as someone born here, I can only imagine what foreigners visiting India for spirituality must be thinking.
A few weeks back, my car had gone to the garage, and out of pure curiosity (plus a little necessity), I started using BEST buses again after years. Last time I properly travelled in them was probably during school/college days, and my memories were mostly of overcrowded buses, long waiting times, confusion about routes, sweating in Mumbai heat, and conductors yelling destinations over traffic noise.
But man, the experience now is surprisingly good.
The AC buses especially are such a game changer. Clean, comfortable, and honestly way more peaceful than sitting in traffic while driving yourself. And the frequency has improved a LOT on many routes. I expected to stand around waiting forever, but buses were actually coming on time more often than not.
And the Chalo app deserves serious appreciation. That app alone changes the entire experience. Live tracking, exact bus routes, ETA, knowing whether the bus is 2 mins away or 20 mins away — it removes that old uncertainty completely. Earlier taking a bus felt like a gamble. Now it actually feels organised.
What also shocked me was how affordable it still is.
I travelled from Bandra to Juhu for literally ₹12. ₹12.
In a city where stepping out of the house itself somehow costs money, travelling that distance comfortably for ₹12 honestly felt unreal. Meanwhile, one auto guy will quote ₹250 and still drive like he’s in Fast & Furious.
And weirdly, travelling by bus also made me notice Mumbai again. You’re not stressed about parking, fuel, honking, potholes, or someone scratching your car. You just sit near the window, put earphones on, and watch the city move.
Obviously the system still has flaws and there’s room to improve, but compared to what BEST used to feel like years ago, this has been a massive upgrade.
Never thought I’d say this, but Mumbai’s buses are actually underrated now.
Unbelievable queues for the new AP x Swatch drop. But look closely at the crowd: most of them look like paid line standers or scalpers hoping for a quick flip!
Passed by the memorial today and the amount of dust on it is crazy. It just gathers dirt all year round and the funniest part is that the Secretariat is literally right there. The entire government sits right in front of this thing every single day and still no one cares enough to get it cleaned. We are basically just waiting for the monsoon to wash it all away so it can actually shine again. Such a shame.
I have gone through videos where Shami has done is his hair transplant in some reputed HT clinic in Hyderabad… thought maybe finally there’s some soln…
Since I’m a 23yo guy, who is losing hair significantly from the past 5-6yrs and I thought maybe I will have an HT when I start earning seriously(maybe in 2-3 yrs)
But after seeing shami’s hair results it started scaring me, bcos when a celeb like him, who had a fancy Hair Transplant at a premium price.. despite that still his hair results suck… so how will it ever be helpful for an avg guy like me to have a Transplant.. like will atleast the hair regrowth and maintain it for like 10-15yrs.. are the hair transplant clinics genuine in India and show crazy results or else they are not…
Orelse we need to go to turkey for a transplant, orelse even that’s the same story…
Kindly genuinely help me and others who are facing the same problem.. no clinic or brand promotions please.. thank you
So these people are from nepal and they are coming to work, even I was there in the bus and they took bus ticket to Tumkur, conductor gave women’s ticket and took money to personal upi, bus is in majestic

Update : ticket which they got https://ibb.co/My6D40RJ I told these people about the scam and also to complain
guys look even if this is a legit ticket then why did he took money to his personal upi not the ticket machine upi !!!!!!!!!
I am just a guy who was hired to run Instagram and Facebook for a restaurant and accidentallywalked into one of the most organized corruption setups I have ever heard of.
This is 100% real. I have seen the proof with my own eyes.
Let me take you through exactly what happened.
I was doing regular work at the restaurant one afternoon when I noticed something in the back area.
A small almirah.Getting locked. Nothing unusual about that.
Except it was absolutely packed with bundled 500 rupee notes.( Hard cash piles )
Not a few bundles. Not petty cash. We are talking something that looked like lakhs maybe crores just sitting in a wooden cabinet like it was stationery.
I said nothing. I acted like I saw nothing. But I could not stop thinking about it.
The owner had a son around my age. Through our work together we had become genuinely close.
I started dropping casual conversations about cash, black money, business struggles nothing suspicious, just building the ground.
I waited 15-20 days.
Then I asked him directly about what I saw.
What happened next genuinely surprised me.
He told me everything.
Not nervously not reluctantly. He looked at me like he trusted me completely and he just opened up.
That trust is exactly why I am not naming anyone in this post. Not the owner. Not the son. Not the officer
This post is about awareness.
Here is the system. Read this carefully.
The restaurant owner has a close relative who is a serving as IAS officer.
I have personally seen this officer. Sitting in that same restaurant eating laughing. Looking like any other family member visiting for lunch.
Here is how the money flows and this is where most people have no idea how sophisticated this actually is —
The IAS officer never touches bribe money directly. Not once. Not a single rupee goes into his hands in a way that can be traced.
Every single payment from every person who paid this officer gets routed to the restaurant owner first.
It enters the books as a legitimate business transaction. An investor funding a new venture. A partnership deal. A business loan.
The business then deliberately fails.
Money is cleaned. Paper trail is created. Everyone looks innocent.
But wait it gets worse.
The diary
The restaurant owner maintains a physical diary.
Every payment. Every amount. Every name. Written down across the full year.
I have seen this diary. I held it in my hands.
I have photographs of it.
I cannot post them yet because the diary has restaurant name on the pages which could identify the owner. I am currently removing those carefully. If this post gets enough traction I will post the sanitized proof.
But here is what I read with my own eyes you wont belive numbers
The numbers
Just from the pages I saw:
Land approvals — 4 separate payments totalling ₹4 crore rupees. One more payment still pending of ₹90 lakh.
Construction contract approvals — ₹2.5 crore combined
Licensing approvals — over ₹5 crore
Insider land tip-offs — telling buyers where land prices will rise before it happens, and taking a personal cut — another ₹5 crore+
Total from just the pages I read: over ₹12+ crore rupees
And I did not read every page.
There were many more entries I did not get to.
Based on what I saw and what the son explained about how this works across a full year — a well networked IAS officer operating in a fast developing area can make 40 to 50 crore rupees annually through this system alone.
That is not a guess. I can give a full category by category breakdown in a follow up post
Why am I posting this
Not for clout. Not for drama.
I am posting because I was one of those people who thought corruption meant one neta taking one envelope.
It is not that.
It is a business. It has structure, processes, risk management and even vendor payments — the Anti Corruption Bureau being the vendor.
Most people in this country are living completely unaware of how deep and how organized this actually runs.
The money is still there. The system is still running. The diary still exists.
I have seen it all with my own eyes and I can no longer pretend I have not.
If this post reaches enough people — I will come back with the diary photos, the category breakdown and more details the son shared with me that I have not even mentioned yet
had actually ordered noodles from Blinkit. But when the delivery arrived, it clearly wasn't my order. It was some random pack of noodles that brand but smaller pack like 1/5th
And yes the package had extra items like a sugar sachet and even a free wet tissue trial pack nothing like what I ordered.
When i opened it I saw it's not what i wanted raised a complaint under 5 minutes and got the refund and an apology
Next morning, i was at work
He came back to our house up to our floor and said he gave me the wrong order and the original customer has cancelled and now WE have to pay for it.
We refused, because this wasn't our mistake. I geneuinely felt bad for him wanted to help him out
Told the blinkit executive to not deduct his money because he probably got confused
Or the blinkit store packer did some mistake
I tried my best to help him
He came the next night took the packet of the wrong noodles we had opened the sugar packet
I would like to add that blinkit said i could keep both
the noodles and sugar packet
But i gave back the wet tissue trial pack and the pack of noodles
He took them
Said store manager said this is not enough
And is deducting his money
He came to our house thrice.
After that, the calls started. His friend or brother he claims this guy that called is a small manager in blinkit
And he began calling me repeatedly. He was using rude called me a thief, constantly pressuring me to pay. They have our number.of two of my family members. They know exactly where we live, they came thrice and not even once had to ask where we live they are well through with where we live now
I got so scared talked to blinkit they said block both these guys but again
How could I do that
They know so much
My parents already don't like the idea of this modern ordering stuff online thing and like this will create a whole issue i can't tell anyone
At that point it stopped feeling like a delivery issue and started feeling like harassment.
My parents already don't like the idea of this modern ordering stuff online thing and like this will create a whole issue i can't tell anyone
At that point it stopped feeling like a delivery issue and started feeling like harassment.
Out of fear and just wanting this to end, I gave him ₹500 from my own pocket.
And now I feel awful about it.
I'm scared he might come back again or keep calling. He already has access to my number and even another family member's number.
I want my ₹500 back because this was clearly not my fault-but I'm honestly scared to escalate this because he knows where we live.
This whole situation has made me feel unsafe in my own home over a WRONG delivery which was not even my fault.
⭐ Edit: I reported it to blinkit they fired the guy I'm so scared that he will do something wrong to me he knows the address by heart two numbers of the house he didn't even require help reaching the house I am so scared i can't contact authorities at all and I'm scared by the time i do
Are there any events, corporate events, concert volunteering opportunities in hyderabad. Looking to gain experience & socializing with people and maybe ( earning a little ). I've heard there are whatsapp communities that will help you with those. Would love to know if anyone has been volunteering or has an Idea about it.
Hi everyone, I'm looking to upgrade my Lenovo Laptop RAM. It currently has DDR4 3200MHz SODIMM 8GB Laptop RAM and one empty slot left. I want to add another 8GB to get 16GB total. I've seen some listings on Amazon for 7k and 5.7k, which seems way too high. Specs needed: DDR4, 3200MHz(Laptop).
Question: What is a fair price for 8GB in the current market??
Yes. I want a real, genuine non violence protest against this rubbish indian education system. Seeing the working of all these educational institutions made me feel disgusting. I want every teen who gave the neet and 12th to protest against the unfair things that are happening. Even if about 2000 ppl from every state come out and protest, it might actually have an impact. Not joking, not satire, not only rage but a true, heartbreaking emotion behind this message. I have made various social media accounts to spread this idea. I want the genz of india to protest against these long term lifestyles we have all accepted. If nepal can do it, we can too. Pls spread this message and leave ur thoughts on this. Another big thing i can now articulate is that we can actually make a mass social media protest happen. I have seen ppl commenting and spamming on videos for thier fav celebrity and if they see any mistreatment towards them. Why not speak up for genuine issues. I really need help now i want ppl who can handle big instagram Facebook youtube channels and make it anonymous. We all should make an account on this and all these commentors
follow that account and make impact.
Edit- okay for me i am stepping out by making and INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT and i need support of everyone from here. Lets make a # for it and together spam it every where. Lets start. Also i need other to also step out on duff social media like telegram and everything. Pls
Inflation is rising. Ruppee falls even in front of pak and Bangladesi currency . Bjp is ruining this country. Rapists are getting bail (not even getting convicted if they are member of their party). Hospitals, schools are looting . Govt ones are just non existent. While BJP is winning, is the country winning something too or we are just losing? Why are people silent even when they know media is lost, every organisation is being hijacked.
Excuse me for ignoring your feudal honorifics. Yesterday, we read your remarks, calling young people as cockroaches and parasites, and your vicious bile against journalists, RTI activists, and social media users. Perhaps, you have become used to running your motormouth and hurling threats and abuses, while sitting in a constitutional office. Still, it is no less shocking for any ordinary Indian citizen, whose rights you’re supposed to be protecting.
Only days ago, you vilified environmental activists, while sitting as a judge in the highest court. A few months ago, you made similar remarks against trade unions.
On several occasions, you made threats against the citizens of India. A year ago, in the Ali Mahmudabad case, you issued threats against students and professors for speaking up against the persecution of Professor Ali Mahmudabad, saying “if they dare to do anything, we will pass an order… we know how to deal with these people”.
In the India Got Latent case, you had made similar threats against people defending the constitutional right to expression, saying “we know some people writing articles in the name of freedom of speech, etc… we know how to handle them also”.
As the Chief Justice of India, instead of defending the rights of the citizens, you have repeatedly attacked, abused, and threatened the common people. “My Lord”, perhaps, you have developed the impression that this is still the feudal age and our rights are a grace from “Your Honour”.
You would do well to remember that it were the same people — the activists, the youths, and the unions — whom you’re threatening while sitting in your office, who fought and won these rights which you’re attacking and the Constitution you are supposed to serve. To serve, not to rule. You would also do well to keep in mind that these people will not let any thug, sitting in the constitutional office, threaten them or strip them off their hard-won rights.
Mr CJI, it is evident that you’re unfit for the office you’re holding and the duties towards the citizens you’re supposed to fulfil. I would still urge you, if you feel any shame, kindly do resign from your post. We are not intimidated by you.
where or what do you your housewife mothers do to socialise or go out for as an daily activity? my mom has been feeling a little depressed staying at home? what are your suggestions, she’s very introverty. tried sending her to parks, gym doesn’t work for a regularity.
My friend was pretty fed up of trains and had moved to drive to and from office in bkc from kandivali daily. Yesterday he was back in train. We asked what happened, he said everything has become very expensive but salary hasn't increased as much. Budget was going haywire so had to cut down whatever he could. So commute by car is now stopped, so has holidays (no travel last yr), and eating out. Things are really looking bleak.
Two 2-month old kittens up for adoption. They are litter-trained and are ready to be vaccinated as well. Found their mom before I knew she was pregnant.
DM me for details/address
Location of the Animal - Navi Mumbai
Age - 2months (exactly)
Medical History - None
Contact and other information of the current Caretaker/parent - Mum is healthy.
DM me for my contact details.
Reason for putting the animal up for Adoption - I adopted the mom but my home isn't big enough for 3 cats... hence the adoption.
TL;DR: A deeply disappointing and distressing experience — sharing this in the interest of women considering her as their OB-GYN, especially during pregnancy.
My name is Sneha, and this is my first-ever negative review for a healthcare provider, and I do not write this lightly.
I am currently 7 months pregnant and visited Dr. Anjali J Bapat (in Mahim) after my routine growth scan on May 15 showed that my AFI was “normal to low” (borderline). My regular gynecologist — a highly reputed senior doctor from Hinduja — was out of town and advised me to consult Dr. Anjali instead of waiting a week.
At no point was I panicking. I was simply following medical advice.
Before visiting, I had a brief phone conversation with Dr. Anjali and shared my report with her on WhatsApp. Despite the report not indicating an emergency, she insisted I come to her clinic that very evening instead of the next day.
I complied.
During the consultation, all my vitals were normal. As part of sharing my pregnancy history, I methodically showed her all my ultrasounds from the last 7 months — around 10 in total — including scans that were medically advised due to:
- a hematoma/bleeding episode, - reduced fetal movement, - and a fetal echo concern.
I also mentioned — very matter-of-factly — that my baby was measuring around the 10th percentile. This was shared purely as history, not from a place of anxiety or distress.
What followed was nearly 40 minutes of what felt less like a medical consultation and more like unsolicited psychological evaluation.
Dr. Anjali repeatedly interpreted my medical history as evidence of “panic” and “mental distress,” implying:
- that the number of ultrasounds reflected my anxiety, - and that mentioning my baby’s percentile reflected my “ignorance” about genetics.
I was stunned.
At no point did she ask for context behind the scans or attempt to understand why they had been medically recommended. Instead, she seemed to reduce valid medical history into a narrative about an “overanxious mother.”
She then shifted into giving extended commentary on maternal mental health and how a mother’s mindset affects the fetus. While that may generally be true, I found it deeply inappropriate that she casually arrived at conclusions about my mental state without basis, context, or qualification.
The most disturbing moment came when she asked whether I take protein powder regularly. I honestly replied that there are days I skip it because it causes nausea and constipation.
To this, she jokingly suggested to my husband that he should give me a “laafa” (slap) because I was “behaving like a child.”
I want to repeat this clearly: A practicing gynecologist — and someone who claims to counsel women emotionally — suggested physical violence, even if “as a joke,” during a pregnancy consultation.
It was not funny.
Pregnancy is already physically and emotionally demanding. Women constantly navigate fear, societal pressure, medical uncertainty, and vulnerability. The last thing a patient needs is to feel mocked, patronized, psychologically analysed without consent, or shamed for responsibly sharing medical history.
What saddened me most was not just the lack of empathy, but the normalization of such behaviour by another woman doctor.
Patients deserve:
- respect, - informed medical guidance, - emotional safety, - and the freedom to ask questions or share concerns without being trivialized.
A consultation should never leave a pregnant woman feeling humiliated, dismissed, or emotionally exhausted.
Dr. Anjali, if you are reading this: empathy is not optional in healthcare. And if mental health is something you wish to advise patients on, perhaps begin with understanding boundaries, sensitivity, and dignity.
Seriously, how is everyone surviving and managing everything alone here? Between long office hours, exhausting commutes, and high rents, how do you find the energy to manage three meals a day, keep your room clean, have a social life, and still save some money? Please share your daily routines, budget hacks, or how much you spend on maids/cooks. Sincerely, an exhausted fresher just trying to figure out life in this city.
Hello fellow Delhiites.... Writing this seeking your suggestions, guidance & support...
After a lot of ho jaega, nhi ho paega... and let's do it, dekha jaega.. I convinced myself and finally my mum to start a food venture out of her kitchen, 'Maa Sa Foods'. In the last 5 months, we tested, tasted, stabilised & scaled 4 recipes.
Condiments & Snacks that I grew up eating, and our friends & family repeatedly praised: - Sun-cooked gulkand, Seed + jaggery laddoos, Amla chutney & her world-famous Dahi masala, which actually doubles up as a beautiful marination.
In the past few months, we made a few industry experts, chefs and restaurant owners try these - and still amazed with the reviwes and feedback we got.
Currently, we are only catering to Delhi-NCr orders. ~ made to order | small batches | clean, self-sourced ingredients ~
Attached are the images of the initial packaging we worked on - PLS DO SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS - inspiration: old bhandani print mithai dabbas
DM for details & taster - all feedback, suggestions are welcome & important for us to create something meaningful
My pov is when biofuel can solve the fuel problem but create food crisis. Why can't we grow seaweed biofuel at a scale with automation. I know it's not carbon positive but it' s carbon neutral. It may destroy some of the ecosystem of sea but can save the whole world . There is no space availability issue like farm based biofuel .
This video give me the perspective to think about it. Share your thoughts on this
I post a summary of this video who don't want to go through it below using tools ;
(00:00–01:34) The speaker argues that fuels remain essential because they offer much higher energy density than batteries. Fuel systems only carry one part of the reaction while the atmosphere supplies the other, making them more suitable for high-power applications like ships, trucks, and airplanes.
(01:34–04:35) Three core requirements for practical fuels are emphasized:
Cheap — modern civilization depends on low-cost energy for food transport and industry.
Stable at standard temperature and pressure (STP) — fuels requiring extreme cooling or pressurization become expensive.
Easy to store and distribute — existing infrastructure matters greatly.
(04:35–10:16) The video strongly criticizes hydrogen as a mainstream transportation fuel. While hydrogen burns cleanly, the speaker says its volumetric energy density (MJ/L) is extremely poor compared to diesel or jet fuel. Hydrogen’s often-quoted high energy per kilogram is described as misleading because storage tanks are bulky, pressurized, and inefficient.
(10:16–15:35) Historical hydrogen projects from Russia, BMW, Audi, and military aviation are cited as evidence that hydrogen propulsion has already been tested extensively and found economically impractical. The speaker argues that modern jet engines are now efficient enough that hydrogen offers little advantage.
(15:35–18:32) Additional criticisms of hydrogen include:
Huge water requirements
Large renewable energy overproduction needs
Expensive transportation/storage infrastructure
Poor round-trip efficiency Metal hydride storage is mentioned as technically viable but too heavy for most transport uses.
(18:32–23:48) The proposed long-term solution is seaweed-based biofuel. The speaker claims seaweed can:
Grow rapidly in saltwater
Avoid competition with farmland
Produce far higher yields than crops like corn or sugarcane
Integrate into existing oil refineries and fuel infrastructure with minimal changes.
(21:57–24:41) Seaweed farming is also presented as environmentally beneficial because large marine farming zones could reduce overfishing and restore marine ecosystems. Existing algae and biofuel R&D in countries like India and China are cited as proof the technology is already mature enough to scale.
(24:41–27:58) The speaker proposes using excess seaweed biomass for carbon capture, converting atmospheric CO₂ into hydrocarbons and potentially storing carbon underground in depleted oil wells. This is framed as using “nature’s existing recycling system” rather than replacing hydrocarbons entirely.
(27:58–31:14) Electric drivetrains are still considered useful in a hybrid role. The speaker supports serial-hybrid vehicles where motors drive the wheels while biofuel-powered generators operate at peak efficiency, reducing emissions through regenerative braking and optimized engine RPM.
(31:14–32:39) The conclusion argues that policymakers often push unrealistic technologies like hydrogen without understanding engineering tradeoffs. The speaker advocates replacing only the “fossil” component of hydrocarbons with biologically derived fuels while preserving existing infrastructure and gradually improving efficiency.
Relevant Glasp insight: A related discussion on seaweed-based climate solutions highlights that seaweed farming can rapidly absorb atmospheric carbon and may help scale carbon drawdown while supporting marine ecosystems.
TL;DR: Stop trying to make hydrogen and batteries happen for heavy transport—the physics don't support it.
Was travelling around 9 PM today on the Khaitalapur Flyover near HITEC City, and almost all the streetlights were off. Even the main roads nearby had barely any lighting.
What’s the point of installing all these streetlights if they’re never switched on? Feels weird seeing entire flyovers and roads so dark in a major IT area.
I found this cat while waiting for my bus in front of Mekhri Circle KTM showroom. She has a collar and is friendly. Hence this is a post for someone to find their cat if lost.
Being completely honest because I think that's the only way to get genuine responses.
I'm 25, based in Mumbai. Passed 12th in 2017, didn't complete college due to COVID and personal circumstances.
Since then I've worked various jobs but my most relevant experience is about a year as a content writer and social media manager at a Hyderabad based edtech startup called Frontlines Media.
That role is where I genuinely felt at home understanding what content works, writing for an audience, managing social presence.
Right now I'm at a crossroads. I want to move into video editing and content creation seriously but I'm still in the early learning phase and don't have a laptop yet. I'm working and saving toward that.
What I'm looking for:
Content writing or social media work I can do right now
Any guidance from people who broke in without a degree
Mentorship or just honest advice on how to move forward
I'm not asking for charity, just a real conversation with people who've been here.
Today around 5:30 PM, while returning from Pune, I witnessed a major accident near the merge point of the Missing Link and the Expressway. Another truck had also crashed into the railing on the right side, resulting in the closure of all lanes. Eventually, authorities managed to clear a single lane between the trucks to restore partial traffic movement. Hoping everyone involved, especially the truck drivers, is safe.
Is it just me or do almost no auto drivers want to go by meter anymore?
Everywhere I go, they either refuse directly, quote random prices, or tell me to book through Uber/Rapido/Ola instead. And the funny part is online fares are usually way more expensive than normal meter rates, especially during peak hours or rain.
Half the time I spend more time finding an auto willing to go by meter than the actual ride itself.
What’s the point of meters anymore if nobody uses them?
Silk Board now has multi-level flyovers, looping ramps, and a massive metro station. Crores are spent on infrastructure everywhere.
But try crossing the road as a pedestrian.
People are still forced to run across traffic, climb over barricades, or take huge detours to get from one side to the other. For one of Bangalore’s biggest public transport hubs, pedestrian access feels like an afterthought.
We build infrastructure to move vehicles faster, but forget that every metro or bus commuter becomes a pedestrian eventually.
Need advice on helping a vulnerable woman possibly caught in the middle of a scam/extortion situation involving her husband.
A woman who works at my house is under severe stress because her husband recently got involved with a so-called “gigolo service company.” They charged him around ₹600 and issued a fake-looking “license” that honestly appears to be something made on Canva. The company only communicates through WhatsApp and mostly through prerecorded voice notes. No proper office, no formal onboarding, nothing verifiable.
What worries me is that this may not just be a scam for registration fees. My fear is that it could become an extortion trap. Once someone actually agrees to participate, the operators may collect compromising chats/photos/videos and then blackmail them for money. I’ve heard of similar patterns where vulnerable men are lured with promises of easy money and then threatened with exposure.
The husband apparently believes this is genuine work and refuses to listen. According to his wife, he is otherwise a decent and naive person trying to make quick money because of financial pressure. She says she cannot talk him out of it anymore.
The situation at home is also becoming serious: - it is leading to domestic violence and emotional abuse, - the wife is terrified, - there are two daughters under 10 in the house, - she feels trapped and unsafe.
I have: - the fake “license” image, - company phone number, - WhatsApp details/voice notes.
I want practical advice on: - whether this can be reported to the cyber cell or police before things escalate, - whether these “gigolo agencies” are known scam/extortion operations in India, - how to help the woman safely without increasing risk of violence at home, - whether there are NGOs/women’s helplines that handle situations like this.
Please keep replies practical and non-judgmental. I’m mainly concerned about fraud, blackmail risk, and the safety of the woman and children.
^chagpt was used to frame this write up, giving details of the situation
I lived on the metro. I’d get off at random stations, wander aimlessly for hours, and walk 15–16 km just exploring the city.
I meditated at the Yogananda satsang society and Ramakrishna Math. I even celebrated Dussehra with the monks at Ramakrishna Math once randomly hopped onto their bus and travelled with them- clicked lots of pictures and sent them.
Twice a month, I’d visit Mahila Haat just for books and just aise hi.
Every Sunday without fail, I went to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib or the gurudwaras around Chandni Chowk. I’d spend hours there. Sunday lunch meant langar. I even slept beside the Bangla Sahib sarovar for two nights.
I used to go often to Yamuna Haat taking boat rides, talking to boatmen, just listening to their stories.
Evenings at India Gate were different. The nights felt alive photographers, random conversations, people everywhere.
I kept track of every cultural function and show happening in Delhi. My favorite auditorium near India Gate hosted beautiful classical music concerts. I also attended Bhagavad Gita talks by Jaya Row there.
I’m not much of a mall person, but I loved watching movies in Rajouri Garden. I even watched Cricket World Cup matches in theatres there.
One thing I loved doing was travelling to the very last station of every metro line just to see what existed at the edge of the city.
Akshardham feels different without a mobile phone. Much more peaceful. I managed to stay inside throughout the day without a phone- every now and then my hands kept searching for ohone to click pictures-Faaaaahhhhhhhh!
Chandni Chowk is best experienced by simply walking around. Paranthe Wali Gali with a huge lassi is a must.
I once woke up at 3 AM just to witness the chaos and rush of Chor Bazaar near Jama Masjid.
And the food lanes around Jama Masjid? Absolutely worth exploring.
Almost every garden in Delhi deserves at least one visit.
Sometimes I’d just sit at Khan Market watching luxury cars pass by.
So I finally did something I've been putting off for ages. I filed an RTI. Took maybe 30 minutes and costs only ₹10.
The issue is the Devanahalli toll plaza on NH-44. If you've ever driven to the airport, you know the one. You're not going anywhere on the highway beyond the airport, you're just trying to catch a flight, and yet you're paying the same toll as someone driving all the way to Hyderabad. There's no alternate road, no service road, nothing. Just pay up or turn back.
Here's what most people don't know - there's actually a rule about this. Rule 9 of the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008 says that if a toll plaza is placed such that it affects local users or people who aren't actually using the full highway stretch, NHAI is supposed to either provide a free alternate route or service road bypassing the toll. The whole logic is that you can only be charged for the road you're actually using. If you're just going to the airport and getting off, you're not a highway user in the traditional sense. So you're essentially being taxed for using an access road to a public airport.
There is no such alternate route near Devanahalli. There never has been. So I asked NHAI directly to show me the concession agreement, tell me the legal basis for charging airport-only traffic, what measures have you taken under Rule 9 for local and airport users, how much revenue has been collected since 2011, what complaints have you received and what did you do about them. Basic stuff that any public authority should be able to answer.
I don't know what they'll say. Maybe they'll stonewall, maybe they'll transfer it to six different departments, maybe there'll actually be something useful. But that's not really the point.
The point is we've been given tools that most people in most countries don't have. The RTI Act is genuinely powerful if people use it. And very few people do. We'd rather post about problems on Reddit file an RTI from the freedom of your own home on your laptop.
And here's the thing. If the RTI response reveals something actually shady, that's PIL territory. A toll plaza with no Rule 9 compliance, no alternate route, charging lakhs of airport commuters daily with potentially zero legal backing? Courts have taken up less. But we're also running out of time on that front. There's been serious talk at the Supreme Court level about restricting or filtering PILs and there are real proposals being discussed to make it harder for ordinary citizens to approach courts on public interest matters. Once those gates close, they don't reopen easily.
So if you have any grievance with any central government authority just file the RTI, if it's with Banks or Insurance organizations - File an Ombudsman, any product or goods - consumer court. There's ways to hold everyone accountable. The worst case is they ignore you and you file an appeal. The best case is you get information that actually matters or get compensated for the issue you're facing.
This was taken outside a store and the vehicles probably belong to the employees. The building doesn't have a parking and the road is too small and congested to have parking space. So, can we even blame them?
My friend’s cycle was stolen early this morning (15 May ’26) around 4:30 AM from our apartment premises. It was a white Urban Terrain cycle.
What’s worrying is that this didn’t seem random- the thief looked like he had been observing the place for some time. He entered confidently through the main gate, which is usually left unlocked. Normally, our caretaker sleeps near the basement lift area, but today her son was there instead.
From the CCTV footage, the thief appears to have arrived on a Yulu bike (possibly a gig worker). He parked it outside the main gate, quietly entered from the side near the lift section, and used a plier/cutter to break the cycle lock before taking the cycle away. Around 20 minutes later, he returned to collect the Yulu bike and left in the same direction.
This incident is a reminder for all of us to stay alert, even in apartment buildings that aren’t large gated societies. It’s unsettling to realize how easily someone can walk in and execute something like this.
We have already filed a police complaint. Thankfully it’s not a massive financial loss, but we still hope the person is identified and caught.
Please be careful and secure your vehicles properly. Stay safe everyone.
shocking murder case has surfaced from Mumbai’s Mumbra area after a man’s body was allegedly found stuffed inside a green plastic drum and dumped into a drain in Vasai. The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Arbaaz Khan, who police say was allegedly murdered by his girlfriend with the help of her husband and brother. Officials said Arbaaz had been missing since April 3 before the shocking case came to light. Police said the accused tried to destroy evidence by stuffing Arbaaz’s body inside a green plastic drum before dumping it into a drain in Vasai. After an investigation, Mumbra Police cracked the case and arrested the girlfriend along with her brother, while further probe into the matter is underway.
He wasn't talking about the youngsters, but those who pay for his luxury.
The great taxpayers of India, this is what people in power thinks of you.
That's why tumhare ghar ke aage se gobar nahi uthta. That's why you live in filth.
It is not the just the people with "zero civic sense". It is them showing you how they get to live in clean lutyen world, it is a line they draw to differentiate them from us.
They get to live in a bungalow with porches, garden and a backyard. With breathable environment, birds of different kinds, a park that's not concretised, for FREE.
For you? A poorly made multistoried cell. Even if it is a "jad se makaan", how congested is it? Even South Extention had poorly planned housing. Better than the cockroaches, but just slightly.
If you say "he's talking about the unemployed bla bla bla..."
No he isn't he's talking about the ones who question those in power.
The ones who pay their share of taxes, the law abiding citizen.
I felt great btw, he finally said what they all think of us. (I've been saying it for a long time, it was great to hear him say that I was right.)
The best thing is there's nothing we can do about it, there's nothing we'll do about it.
Now, there will be a lot of delusional people. "Oh he didn't say it about us, you're reading it wrong"
I've been saying this because I see how they do what they do, observing how they treat us, how they condition us, how they manipulate us. Do you see it too?
I’ll be honest, I’m exhausted. When I moved to the UK, a huge part of me was relieved. I thought I was finally leaving behind the constant "Andhbhakt" echo chambers, the religious friction, and that suffocating wave of anti-feminist rhetoric that’s taken over my social feeds back home. I just wanted to live in a normal, functioning society where politics isn't someone's entire (and very angry) personality. I’ve met people here in London and Birmingham and Belfast, who are more radicalized than the people I left behind in Delhi. It’s the wildest cognitive dissonance I’ve ever seen. These guys enjoy every single perk of a Western liberal democracy—freedom of speech, secularism, social safety nets—yet they spend their weekends aggressively pushing the most extreme, right-wing ideologies from India. The worst part? They "sell" this filtered, hyper-nationalist version of India to their British colleagues like it’s a utopia, all while complaining about "Western values" destroying society. It feels like they’re stuck in a time capsule of hate, but with the added ego of earning in Pounds. I actually feel bad for the locals here. You guys are just trying to go about your day, and you’ve inherited a localized version of a culture war you didn't ask for. I moved 5,000 miles for a vibe shift, only to find the same toxicity, just in a colder climate. Has anyone else experienced this, or am I just hanging out in the wrong circles?
Me and My husband earns around 1.6 lakh rupees per month together with our salaries, our daughter is 10 years old and have studied till class 5th in KV sector 4.
My brother in law is a doctor in Luxembourg, he said he'd pay for her fees and any other coasts it'd require, but I was kind of hesitant since it'd still be difficult for her to manage it there socially, since her peers would be from completely different background than ours.
I researched a bit and found out they focus more on overall development and she'd get more facilities there, my husband didn't wanted to take his younger brother's help though since they don't go along that well.
We are more inclined towards letting her continue in the same school but just wanted opinions.
Edit: Thank you for all the comments, I've read alot of comments and discussing with my husband we've decided to go for a better but relatively cheaper school than The British school, something like DPS RkP which fits our budget
Maybe I am having a bad day, or maybe I am just PMSing. I am crying while writing this, and I am due to be on a work call in 10 minutes. But Mumbai broke me today. It's been 2 years since I've been in this city, and I love love the people, and the safety it provides, but house hunting and renting here have been a real pain. I managed to find a 1 bhk a week before and it cost me a good 45k. That hit me for a long time, but I thought once I settle in, it will all be good. But things are just getting worse and worse. The road in front of my home is dug up by BMC, so there is a huge problem with getting home deliveries and auto, so I am practically stuck in my new place. I am so homesick, and the money I have shelled out isn't helping either. I am trying to make the place home, but it's hard. There is also a water shortage. Plus, the people in the building aren't very helpful. I tried to get the number of some workers for cleaning from my neighbour, but they said they didn't remember. Also, I am a single girl who has moved in alone for the first time, so I am also a little anxious about everything. My friends did help me move in, but they cannot be here all the time. On top of that, the owner expects me to cover all the repair expenses. In short, I am homesick, and the whole area around me is dug up, dusty, and I feel like I made a mistake moving in alone. I know this rant sounds privileged, and a lot of you might be struggling with worse, but I am crying in my apartment, too embarrassed to call someone known. Is Mumbai really this hard?
Saw a new traffic police signboard today near Goraguntepalya Junction while coming to office. It says vehicles going towards outer ring Road should keep right, and the left side traffic should move differently than before. Not sure if this is a new traffic management change or temporary diversion. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it actually helping reduce congestion there?
Hi, I am looking for a fully furnished 1 BHK, single occupancy in Madhapur or Banjara Hills for rent. Move in Date- 1st June. Rent- 17-24K (including maintenance).
A 6-7 yrs old boy maintaining this shop completely without any help. His father is a Rapido Driver and mother works at another store. After watching this I don't feel I have even faced any struggle in my life ...
To preface: this is a public road with housing on one side and a garden on the other. It’s sufficiently wide and the garden side was being used by homeowners for parking.
Got into it with an old uncle today. I parked my car alongside the park - there were no “no parking” signs, not even the ones that are basically an advertisement with a small “no parking” written at the bottom.
He comes out of his house, shouting at me. This is the stuff he said:
Uncle: “You can’t park here”
Me: “Why”
U: “It’s not allowed”
M: “Yeah but why”
This went on for a while, then he said it’s Illegal because he bought the house and has the right to park there.
???
What if instead of the garden there was another house on the other side of the road, would he still have the right to park there?
Then his approach shifted - he’s like “kids play here, don’t blame me if when you come back your window is broken”
Sounded like a threat lol, I just replied with “I’ll manage” because I was pretty much done with this conversation and had people waiting on me.
He then pointed to the plants kept, and stated that the homeowners have “reserved” this space - and that this was a decision made by their “homeowners association of xyz layout” - which is basically a group of 9-10 houses around this park. This is where I walked away.
TLDR: Am I in the wrong for parking next to a garden with no “no parking” signs? There are no designated parking spaces here - I would genuinely use one if it existed. I don’t even mind walking like upto a kilometre after parking in a “proper” space.
Petrol has increased by ₹3 again, which means it’s now around ₹106 in Mumbai — and this is already with 20% ethanol blending. So who is actually answerable for this?
We keep hearing about ethanol blending, future benefits, reducing imports, and all that, but the common person is still paying insanely high fuel prices. At some point, people are obviously going to ask: where is the actual benefit for us?
Nitin Gadkari pushed ethanol blending saying it would help reduce dependence on imported oil and eventually benefit consumers. But if prices keep increasing anyway, people naturally start questioning the policy.
The bigger problem is that fuel price hikes slowly become “normal.” Today it’s ₹106, tomorrow it could be ₹120, and everyone will just adjust because we’ve become used to constant increases instead of demanding accountability.
And whenever someone complains, the automatic response is: “Use public transport.” But look at the condition of public transportation in many places. It’s overcrowded, inconsistent, and simply not practical for everyone.
From the ministry’s side, everything may look fine on paper, but what are ordinary people supposed to do in reality? Fuel prices keep rising, vehicle costs are increasing, taxes are high, and reliable public transport still isn’t available everywhere.
In the end, it feels like common citizens are the ones carrying the burden from every side.
Okay so this is going to sound like one of those Delhi bad Bengaluru good posts. It's not. Bear with me.
I'm from Rohini. Born and raised. The kind of guy who'd get into stupid arguments at college with south indian kids about which city was real India. My whole thing was that Delhi has soul, yaar.
I meant it. Genuinely.
Then work happened. Three months in Bengaluru, March to June. I packed rajma chawal masala in my bag like I was going to a war zone. Told everyone I'd be back counting days.
The window thing (Week 2)
I was in a PG in Koramangala. Nothing special. One morning I woke up and realized the window had been open all night. Just open. I hadn't thought about it once.
That sounds like nothing. But if you're from Delhi you know. You don't leave windows open. Not in winter, not when the AQI is doing what it does. It's just not a thing you do.
And then I noticed something else. I hadn't cleared my throat that morning. Or the morning before. In Delhi that's just it's part of waking up, you know? Your body's way of saying okay we made it through another night in this city.
I checked AQI out of curiosity 70. I actually laughed out loud 194 in Delhi.
The 11pm thing (Week 5)
Colleague asked if I wanted to grab dinner. 11:15 at night. Walk, he said, it's close.
I said how far, already calculating whether Rapido made more sense.
He just looked at me. "Ten minutes bhai, relax."
We walked. Footpath was lit properly. Restaurants still open. A couple sitting on a bench. Some uncle walking his dog. Normal stuff.
And somewhere halfway there I realized I hadn't checked. I hadn't clocked who was standing where, which side had more streetlights, whether I should have my phone in my pocket or my hand. In my own Rohini colony after 10pm I do all of that automatically. I didn't even know I was doing it until I wasn't doing it.
Not saying Bengaluru is safe utopia. I know it has its own issues. But that particular thing that low level background hum of alertness I didn't need it there. And putting it down felt weird. Like taking off a backpack you'd forgotten you were wearing.
Coming back
Landed at IGI on a Sunday. June heat, the kind that hits you like a wall the second you step out.
By the Rohini flyover I could already see it that brownish-yellow tint on the horizon that Delhi people have just accepted as sky. An auto guy tried to charge me ₹200 extra. When I said no he got personal about it. Some guy cut across three lanes on the highway and not a single person reacted because obviously, why would they.
I was home. And I felt genuinely warmth. Like actual love for the place. This city made me. Everything fast and loud and a little aggressive about me, that's Delhi. I know how to argue, I know how to negotiate, I can read a room at 2am in a way that I genuinely don't think Bengaluru-raised people can.
But I also noticed, for the first time in 28 years of living here that I was holding my breath a little. Not stress, not anxiety. Just. Physically. My chest doing a thing it apparently always does here and I'd never noticed.
I'm not moving. Family is here, whole life is here. And I'm not writing this to dunk on Delhi honestly there are enough posts doing that.
I'm writing this because something shifted and I don't totally know what to do with it.
I think for a long time I defended this city because I loved it. I still do. But somewhere along the way I stopped being able to tell the difference between *loving a place* and just being *loyal to its problems*. Like they'd fused together into the same feeling and I'd never examined it.
The chaos used to feel like energy. Sometimes it still does.
But some mornings I open my window, feel that little catch in my throat, and think, yaar, we've normalized so much. We've normalized it so completely that we rebranded it as personality.
Anyway. Didn't know where else to put this.
TL;DR: Rohini guy. Three months in Bengaluru for work. Didn't miss the pollution or the post 10pm streetscanning or the morning throat situation. Came back and felt love for Delhi and also saw it clearly for the first time. Both things at once. It's a weird feeling.
This post is was inspired by my recent visit to an area where I grew up, spent 12 years in, did most of my schooling in, essentially became a person I am today in.
It was heartbreaking to see the once empty, child friendly, third space-esque streets, riddled with extra cars and bikes that were not accommodated for when apartments were built, taking up most of the road.
EVERY residential gully in Hyderabad looks like this or usually WORSE in my current area. Initially I thought it was just my current gully, but was really disheartened to see this, no where to play, not many kids around even.
The failure of the state to build public transport, walkable streets, cycling paths etc. and the failure of its people to encourage them, to ask for more led to this.
In a society where owning more cars is success, living a 50 min drive away from work is normal, we deprive children of a childhood we hold dearly. Leading to a more parasitic, parasocial life infront of screens.
The American Suburb-ification and car dependency of the outskirts, the Gated Community syndrome, the mostly American NRI money fuelling it was bad enough, but now that disease has seeped into what was once good mid density living, urban living, CITY living.
I encourage you to go look at your childhood street via google maps, or even reflect on the changes it went through if you’re still there.
Street-parking is more than a nuisance, it’s aesthetic suicide.
A country is rich not when the poor travel in cars, but when the rich travel in buses.
I feel like everyone has a crazy story attached to this place before deciding to NEVER go there again 😂😂 Mee story enti??
EDIT : Sare because everyone wants to knw my story first, here goes...
Adhi oka Saturday night, I went to club rogue with my girlfriends. Got approached by a girl of our age. We thought she was alone when she randomly joined our group. Alone unnava ani adigithe, "anna valla tho unna" ani cheppindhi. Kani vallu antha uncles 🙏🏻 So apparently the strategy is they lure girls into their group using this girl as bait, they act all nice and protective, then they invite the girls out (after clubbing). The girls being drunk and unaware say yes. Akkada vellaka scene maaripothadhi ani vinnanu. We were also approached by these uncles kani devudi daya valla thappinchukunnam.
Asala those uncles were damn creepy, I can still remember they way the were looking at us🤮 Asala daridram enti ante all the people that regularly go to this club knw about this batch and their strategy, that's how I got to knw the story (weeks after the incident happened to us)
If there's any girls reading this, please avoid this club and any random ass strangers who approach you and try to take u to a second location. You can never be too careful.
Andromeda was just getting used to her new home and big, loving family in Kerala. But a young child in the house has severe dander allergy, which means Andro has to leave.
Let's find her a home nearby! Please share with any and every contact you may have in Karnataka / Kerala.
Today I got scammed near Chhatarpur Phase 2, Delhi. Posting this so others stay alert.
I had just taken an auto from Qutub Minar metro and got down near phase 2 gate, walking home. Barely 20 steps in, two guys on a scooty stopped beside me.
They spoke very politely:
“Bhaiya ek chhota sa help kar do please.”
One guy was driving and had a visible head injury/bandage. The other guy sitting behind had a cigarette in hand and looked emotional/almost crying.
They told me their mother was in the hospital, their card was blocked, and they urgently needed cash. I asked how much. They said:
“2100 chahiye, but jo aap de do.”
I normally avoid these things, but the situation looked genuine. They asked for my QR code and showed me a PhonePe-like app. The guy even said:
“Bhaiya aapko extra bhej dete hain 50-100, aap help kar rahe ho.”
I told him:
“Nahi, bas 2000 hi kar do.”
But I noticed I hadn’t received any SMS or confirmation yet. The moment I mentioned that, the guy panicked a bit and said “Aa jayega bhaiya, dekho transaction ID mere me, history me bhi dikha raha hai kat gaya.”
He kept insisting and saying he lived nearby in C Block and was getting late.
By then my hand had already gone towards him with the cash. He grabbed it and both disappeared on the scooty at crazy speed. That speed instantly made me realise. I HAD BEEN SCAMMMMED!!
The fake payment app looked very convincing at the moment. Please don’t hand over cash unless money is actually credited to your account and verified properly.
Just sharing this so nobody else falls for the same thing around
now I have so much questions to myself. UPI is acceptable everywhere why would one need cash in hospital and what not, but for that fragments of time I just didn't get any if/but/why in head 🫠
Request you to please read first and then react. Just a bit of context in the beginning.
So I did not know about my caste till 2nd standard in school. One day I was playing with some of my friends after school till a guardian came to pick us up. So one of my classmate's mom came over and saw him playing with me. She had a very strong reaction, almost kinda repulsed and fuming upon seeing him play with me. She scolded him loudly not to play with me anymore but did not mention any reason when he asked about it. Later from then on , after I'm guessing she taught him about the caste system, he did not talk to me then onwards. Then I went to my home and told my mom about it but she knowingly brushed it off as to not hurt my feelings i guess. I later came to know about it through one of my sister's friends. Many such incidents followed and i convinced myself something was wrong with me. Later on when I got better marks than one of my neighborhood's general caste friends then her mother said it's due to reservation, mind you this was normal highschool result. So I read all about this and decided to not bring up my caste unless totally necessary.
I recently saw a short explanatory video , where a SC man can never become a general caste as per Indian laws. So lately I have been wondering whether it would be better for me to abandon my birth and assigned religion to enable my future generation to live a life without stigma?
Any advice is welcome.
Edit: Guys , I'm at a stable phase in my life . So don't worry about my job/career and financials. This discussion is solely intended for the religion/caste based aspect of my life.
How to Spot the High-Ticket MLM Scam before you lose your savings
I recently encountered a high-pressure business opportunity pitch that almost cost me over 4 Lakhs. It started with a friend and ended with a realization that I was being lured into a sophisticated money-circulation scheme. I am sharing the Playbook so you do not fall for it.
THE SETUP: THE PROFESSIONAL BAIT
They specifically target educated people—software engineers, MBAs, and even Chartered Accountants (CAs)—to lend an air of legitimacy to the scam.
SOCIAL PROOF: They introduce you to a Senior who is a high-ranking professional (like a CA) who supposedly left their career because this business made them more money.
TRUST MASKING: You are less likely to question the math if a CA or a successful professional is the one telling you it is a good investment.
CREDIBILITY CHAIN: By recruiting one educated person, they gain access to that persons network of other successful, high-income individuals.
THE BUZZWORDS: ONE-LINE EXAMPLES OF MANIPULATION
Recruiters use these phrases to shut down your logic and isolate you from help.
FINANCIAL FREEDOM: Quit your 9-to-5 by age 30 with just 2 hours of work a day.
NO NEGATIVITY: If your family questions this, they just have a poor mans mindset and want to hold you back.
GLOBAL BUSINESS OWNER: You are not a salesman; you are a CEO of your own e-commerce empire.
EXCLUSIVITY: We only pick one leader from each city, and you are the lucky candidate for this slot.
NOT A PYRAMID: It is a binary system based on e-commerce, so it is 100 percent legal.
ONE-TIME INVESTMENT: You are not spending money; you are buying an asset that generates generational wealth.
LEGACY BUSINESS: This license is an asset you can pass down to your children like a house.
THE PRODUCT PROFIT FALLACY
The biggest lie is that you will make money by selling products like Air Purifiers, Jewelry, or Luxury Watches.
THE MARKET VALUE GAP: They sell you an air purifier for 1.2 Lakh that has a retail value of roughly 20,000.
THE IMPOSSIBLE SALE: To make a profit, you would have to find a customer willing to pay 1.3 Lakh for a 20,000 product. No sane person outside the scheme will ever buy it.
THE TRUE REVENUE: Because you cannot sell the overpriced products to the general public, your only actual way to make money is to recruit the next person to pay 4.2 Lakh for their own overpriced starter kit.
THE MATH OF RECOVERY: HOW LONG WILL YOU SUFFER?
If you invest 4.2 Lakh, your first goal is recovery. Here is the reality of the binary commission structure.
THE BREAK-EVEN POINT: You typically earn a commission of roughly 21,000 for every step (6 new recruits).
THE 120-PERSON TRAP: To get your own 4.2 Lakh back, you need to complete 20 steps. That means you need a network of 120 people all paying 4.2 Lakh each.
THE SOCIAL COST: To recruit 120 people, you must typically pitch to over 1,000 people. You will burn through your reputation with family and friends just to reach zero.
THE HYDERABAD REALITY CHECK (MAY 2026)
While recruiters tell you to have faith, the law is cracking down hard.
In March and April 2026, the Hyderabad City Police arrested 32 individuals—including 11 women and several software employees—for running an illegal money-circulation racket.
Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar confirmed the accused targeted software employees and businessmen in Hitec City hotels, promising returns of up to 4 crore.
Authorities explicitly flagged these binary enrollment models as illegal under the Prize Chits and Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act, 1978.
THE BOTTOM LINE
Money is a byproduct of value, not recruitment cycles. If you cannot explain the cash flow without selling a non-existent dream to your friends, it is a scam.
Do not let Social Proof from a CA or any other professional override your common sense. If it costs 4.2 Lakh to buy a job where you have to reel in others to get paid, you are not an entrepreneur; you are the product. Stay safe, stay logical.
I'm a guy btw and was standing by the wall in the most rearward coach. Right in front of me was this dude, looked like a college student or person in mid 20's. Had his hand right on my crotch. I ignored it cz the metro was packed and no place to stand. I started feeling that he's caressing his hands down my bawls and felt really uncomfortable. Kashmere gate comes by and most crowd leaves, including him. But somehow sir came back in, idky. The metro is quite empty now for people who are standing. I'm at the same spot, he comes and stands in front of me. I started looking into the depths of metro tunnel and ik this guy is staring at me. Constantly giving looks, standing in a gayish manner as well. I looked at him and he looks away, he again came close. Had his hand near my crotch again. I clicked a photo discretely and moved away, still noticing that he's looking at me. Tf?
I'm 6'1+ in height and could smack the shit out of him but I didn't cz i don't really support violence but man, this was some bs experience. Don't have problem if someone is gay but straight up trying to caress someone's boopsie is just straight up harassment. These kinda acts will get you punched and then you'll blame that society hates gay men. If you want someone just approach? I was wearing a pajama and an oversized half sleeve hoodie, what's the excuse now?
The matter came to light when the police received intelligence about a cross-border arms smuggling gang and the possibility of the smugglers coming to the capital’s Rohini area to deliver arms.
[OC]Does he even have any shame, saying that his upbringing of his son was not questionable, cuz he raised him to be the best and he can never cheat ppl? Wish there were actual vigilantes in our country not just cow vigilantes 🙂
This is honestly a little difficult and embarrassing for me to post, but I thought I’d still try.
I’m in college right now. Lately things have been a bit hard financially, and over time I’ve realized I’ve stopped buying things for myself completely. I’ve been managing with the same few clothes for a long time now, borrowing outfits whenever there’s an occasion, and stretching my skincare products until they’re completely over.
I know these things might sound small, but sometimes it does affect your confidence, especially in college when you’re around people every day.
So if anyone has clothes they no longer wear, extra skincare/makeup, bags, accessories, or anything they were already planning to declutter or give away, I would genuinely be extremely grateful. I’m not looking for anything expensive or brand new at all, even small things would mean a lot to me right now.
My little sister Vishakha is 6 years old and she was diagnosed with Thalassemia Major on 2nd May 2026 at CMC Vellore.
I am her elder sister. I am 16. I just completed my 10th standard. Our family lives in Vellore and is not financially strong — my father's income barely covers our household and our school fees. There is no way we can raise ₹16 lakhs on our own.
I have been posting wherever I can, asking for help, because I have nowhere else to go and I refuse to give up on her.
Thalassemia Major is not something that can be ignored. Without treatment, she will need blood transfusions for the rest of her life. A bone marrow transplant gives her a real chance — but it requires money we simply do not have.
If you are in a position to help — a donation, a share, a contact at a relevant NGO — please do. If you know someone who might care about this, please forward this post to them. If you work in healthcare or social work and know of any scheme or support system we may have missed, please comment below.
Hospital documents from CMC Vellore are available for verification. I will respond to every message.
I started my first job about a month ago after months of unemployment. Up and down I end up covering roughly 42km. My lower back and neck hurts a lot. I travel on my jupiter. How are u guys tackling this? For reference, I travel from north bangalore (think manyata tech park) to BTM.
What can I do to improve my commute? Pay isn't great, so I cant get a separate room closer to the office either.
Would getting a gear bike(like pulsar or an old fz or Gixxer) help? Cause the posture isn't upright, so maybe that makes a difference? My scooter throws me around so much, probably cause of my weight(56kg) so the suspension doesn't work at all.
Also, I have flexible working hours. The office opens after 9, and is open until after 8pm too.
Don't wanna have back problems as I'm only 22. Would appreciate any advice...thanks
As a girl in delhi I've felt the most uncomfortable when there's a group of small kids like teenagers maybe. 90% of the time I've experienced catcalling or unnecessary commentry is from these boys who lack basic decency. (9% from tharki buddhe uncles and 1% from my age group).
Whenever I cross any area where there is a slum ending or other areas near saket I just get a chill down my spine whenever I see a teenage group of boys sitting around.
Is there any way that we can teach them manners or something? Inke ma baap inhe thapedti kyu nhi ya koi bade log inki akal thikane nhi lga skte?
Im 23M, im a digital marketer. I used to run ads for realestate flats in hyd, i gen leads for our company. Im doing well with it, but the thing which is concerning is, why ppl are eager to buy 2cr, 3cr 1.5cr flats in a gated community, what exactly are looking for which im unable to see, i geniunely feel this are very costly as compared to outskirts. But still, the outskirts also started playing the same, costly costly. Why ppl are eager to buy a piece of apartment at such an higher price? Is this a builder kinda thing, or they are seeing which im not able to see?
I just dont get clarity on these, not to hurt anyones feeling. I need to know more about the people plan to buy that much costly things with loans and stuff, living a tough life, at this rate the hyderabad will become next mumbai or pune.
Was in my car and suddenly a guy in Scooty hit my car and tried to run away but couldn’t. I blocked his path and took the bike key. Asked him to take the bike to the side. And then I realised he was fully drunk.
Car got a scratch on the driver side. I didn’t expect any money. He Started saying sorry saying it was mistake but i couldn’t let him go as he was drunk all Asked him was to give his family’s number so they can take him he refused. Didn’t wanna call the cops but after 30 mins of back and forth called them. Some traffic cop saw all this and she came and called other traffic guy. I give them keys and said to take care of him.
If he was sober i would have just let him go. But he was drunk was danger to himself and others. Traffic police and others were thanking me for letting him go. It sucks now I have to spend 2k on car but what can we do. I felt bad for him. He started crying. Now I feel like a bad guy.
Last year in May, I had my semester exam scheduled on the last day of the month. I prepared for it for days and went to the exam centre. I checked the last four digits of my roll number, found my room, and sat down. Then a girl came into the class and sat at the desk beside me. I thought she would sit there only for a few minutes because boys were sitting in front and behind me, but she stayed for about 10 minutes.
Ten minutes before the exam started, the invigilator came in along with some more students, but all the faces were new to me. I asked the girl, then checked the desk again, and saw that the college staff had also written the last four digits there. At first, I thought I might be in the wrong classroom because the question papers in the invigilator’s hands were not for my subject. So before the exam began, I quickly ran to the seating plan area to check, but it showed I was in the right room.
Then I went to the room where I had submitted my bag, collected it, and was shocked when I looked at the date sheet. The exam was actually on 31 May, but that day was 30 May. I had assumed the exam was on the last day of May and thought 30 May was the last day of the month. I left the exam centre and laughed at myself for not noticing earlier , but at least I got one extra day to prepare!
This is a nightmare. We aren’t asked for any office parking fees in our tech park, so then why do they have to impose something like this. So infuriating that this is even being talked about
I agree that the traffic in ORR is horrible but do we have to pay for it out of our pockets? Is this normal in European countries or anywhere? Just trying to have an idea. I tbh don’t think this is normal by any means.
I was stuck in a massive jam today on my scooty. This guy on a bike behind me kept bumping his front tire into me—not just once, but 2-3 times. Every time he did it, he’d yell "chal na" (as if I had anywhere to go in a deadlocked jam) and then started calling me a "jhatu" and other nonsense. I just sat there, took it, and eventually moved on when the traffic cleared. I made sure to memorize his plate number, but in the moment, I did absolutely nothing. I didn't yell back, I didn't get off the scooty, nothing. Now I’m home and I’m spiraling. I feel like a complete pussy with low testosterone. I feel like I let some random loser walk all over me. The only reason I stayed quiet was because I knew if I got into a fight or if the police got involved, my parents would 100% take away my scooty and I’d lose my freedom. I’m also in the middle of some really important exams/prep, and I can’t afford a legal mess or an injury right now.
We are terrible as a city: The text in this news report highlighted in yellow, which appeared in The Times of India's 10th May edition, states that Hyderabad leads in accidents caused by driving under the influence and alcohol.
As it is, this city is 2nd only to Bengaluru in terms of accidents caused due to speeding.
At this rate, it looks as though Hyderabadis will never be civilized drivers.
In March, I went to Goa with friends. At the end of the trip, we returned our cab and headed home. Somewhere between returning the cab and reaching the airport, I realised my camera was missing. It was still in the cab. By the time I figured this out, the cab had already been picked up by another customer.
I spent two days trying to trace it. Called the cab owner. Asked if he could reach the next customer. Tried every angle. Nothing. I came back to Hyderabad and accepted that the camera was gone.
A week later, I got a DM on Instagram from a woman I had never met in my life.
She was the next customer who had taken that cab. Her mother, while packing up at the end of their trip, had unknowingly picked up the camera along with their things. This woman found it in their bag, went through the videos on it, noticed I mentioned my organisation in one of the videos, used Google Lens to identify the company, found their LinkedIn page, found me listed under People, came to Instagram, searched my name, and sent me a message.
Let that sit for a second. She had no tracking number. No booking. No address. No obligation whatsoever. She found the owner of a camera she didn't even know she had — using nothing except the internet and genuine effort. I still don't fully have the words for how that felt.
I arranged for a friend in Gurgaon to collect the camera from her. We booked DTDC for a home pickup on 28th March 2026. Destination: my home in Hyderabad. Expected delivery: 7th April.
Here is what happened next.
The package was picked up from Gurgaon on 28th March. It reached Medchal — which is literally on the outskirts of Hyderabad — on 2nd April. Five days later, on 7th April, the expected delivery date, I got a tracking update: "Attempted but Undelivered."
No call was made to me. No SMS. No notice of any kind.
And on the same day — same day — at 11:28 AM, another update appeared: "RTO Approved." The package was being sent back to Gurgaon. It had reached Hyderabad. It had been returned. I found out via a tracking notification.
That was 44 days ago. I have been trying to locate this package ever since.
The support calls.
I have called DTDC customer support more than 20 times since 7th April. I have kept a log. Here is what those calls have produced:
Every single call ends with one of two sentences: "You will receive information within 24 hours" or "You will receive information within 48 hours." Neither has ever been true.
Around call 8, I was told the package had been handed to India Post for last-mile delivery. This was the first time anyone had mentioned India Post. I was not informed of this at the time of booking or at any point during transit. When I contacted India Post, they had no record of receiving the package.
Around call 15, I was told: "You did not book through our official customer care channel. You booked through a local store or DTDC centre. We don't have visibility into that booking. Please go to the centre in Gurgaon and ask them directly." The booking was a home pickup. A DTDC agent came to the sender's address and collected the package. There was no store. There was no walk-in.
When I asked for the address or phone number of whichever DTDC centre in Gurgaon had processed the pickup, the response was: "We don't have that information." There are more than six DTDC centres near the pickup pin code. They could not tell me which one.
Call 16: "Your package has been written back to Gurgaon. It is at the origin centre. Please collect it from there."
Call 17, one hour later, different agent: "Your package has not been returned to Gurgaon. It is still in Hyderabad."
Same package. Same tracking number. Same day. One hour apart.
Every call — every single one — ended with: "Our senior team will call you back within 24 hours." I have not received a single callback across 20+ calls spanning 44 days.
The tracking page currently shows "At Destination." The destination field is blank.
Where things stand.
I have filed a complaint on the National Consumer Helpline (Ingram portal)
I have replied to DTDC's supprt with the full documented case.
I have also built a website documenting everything — the full timeline, tracking screenshots, the 20+ call patterns, the contradictory locations, and a submission form for anyone who has had a similar experience with DTDC.
I want to be clear about something. I am not posting this out of anger, though I understand if it reads that way. I am posting this because I have genuinely run out of official channels. The support system has failed completely — not through one bad call or one missed delivery, but systematically, repeatedly, and without a single moment of real accountability across 44 days.
A stranger moved heaven and earth to return this camera. I just needed a courier to drive it 500km.
If anyone in this community has:
A direct contact at DTDC with actual authority to locate a shipment
Experience getting resolution after an RTO was filed without notice
Advice on next steps beyond the Ingram filing
A similar experience with DTDC you want to add to the record
Being from Assam, I had never even heard of Saleem Pheku until yesterday. A friend from Hyderabad showed me this, and now I can’t stop talking in the accent. I love how small funny details are integrated into it, like the “Hyderabadi biryani” background score and the green brick they carry around. Saleem bhai is never “not funny” in any of the scenes. After a long time, I instantly became a genuine fan of a character, and there’s something really satisfying about discovering a gem from another culture. Gonna flex this discovery among my friends.
Before anyone labels this “anti-national” or “doomer posting” — no, I don’t hate this country.
What hurts is that I genuinely wanted to believe things would improve.
But the older I get, the more I observe the system from close range, the more it feels like India isn’t broken accidentally — it is designed this way.
And the worst part?
Most people still think the problem is just “one bad politician” or “one corrupt department.”
No.
The rot is systemic.
Everything eventually connects to power, money, influence, networks, and protection.
And once you start seeing the pattern, you can’t unsee it anymore.
I work inside the government ecosystem (not in a high-authority role), and I regularly observe files, processes, approvals, internal behavior, and the way decisions actually move behind closed doors.
What the public sees and what actually happens are two completely different realities.
People think governments run on ideology.
Most of the time, they run on:
maintaining power
protecting networks
controlling narratives
managing public emotions
rewarding loyalty
crushing threats early
That’s it.
2014 was sold as a turning point:
anti-corruption
black money recovery
accountability
“ache din”
nationalism
development
But somewhere along the way, politics became branding.
Media became management.
Criticism became “anti-national.”
And citizens became emotionally manipulated spectators fighting each other while powerful groups quietly strengthened themselves.
The funniest part?
Politicians with corruption allegations magically become “clean” after joining the ruling side.
So corruption isn’t actually corruption anymore.
It’s just about who currently holds power.
And before people say “change the PM and everything improves” — no.
The deeper issue is the ecosystem itself.
Bureaucracy. Political networks. Business lobbies. Influence circles. Internal protection systems.
A new face at the top doesn’t remove a deeply rooted culture.
The machine simply adapts.
One thing I’ve personally noticed:
Powerful people protect powerful people.
Always.
Whether it’s politicians, bureaucrats, senior officers, businessmen, lawyers, media figures, contractors, or local influencers — networks exist everywhere.
Regular citizens massively underestimate how important networking is among elites.
Private parties, closed gatherings, favors, silent understandings, unofficial alliances — these things shape outcomes more than laws do.
And once someone becomes “valuable” to the ecosystem, accountability starts disappearing.
You’ve probably seen examples already:
rich kids escaping consequences
influential people getting softer treatment
ordinary people getting crushed for smaller mistakes
media narratives changing overnight
investigations slowing down mysteriously
None of this is random.
Another uncomfortable truth:
Many idealistic young officers genuinely enter the system wanting to change things.
But systems shape people faster than people shape systems.
Slowly they learn:
don’t challenge seniors too much
don’t disrupt the chain
don’t expose internal issues
protect the image
survive first
And eventually most adapt.
Because fighting the entire machine alone destroys careers, mental health, social standing, sometimes even personal safety.
This is why accountability rarely reaches the top.
The system knows how to absorb resistance.
Even casteism, favoritism, and privilege still quietly influence opportunities everywhere despite all the modern slogans.
People pretend meritocracy fully exists.
Reality is far more complicated.
And honestly, I now understand why so many skilled Indians leave the country.
It’s not always about “hating India.”
Sometimes people are simply exhausted.
Exhausted by bureaucracy.
Exhausted by corruption.
Exhausted by instability.
Exhausted by social politics.
Exhausted by watching honesty become a disadvantage.
The scary thing is:
I don’t even think most citizens realize how psychologically normalized dysfunction has become here.
People joke about corruption now.
That’s how deep it has entered society.
Anyway, this became much longer than I intended.
I originally wanted to ask:
At what point did YOU realize something was deeply wrong with the system here?
What experience, observation, or moment changed your perspective?
Is it only me that i always stand at this particular spot in metro and enjoy the way it moves, feels so good 🙂↔️🫡 and even when it's crowded this area mostly stays empty
I used to be dog lover like most of the people. But recnelty a personal tragedy stuck us, and now i am starting to the see the horrifying reality.
I am gonna get alot of heat for saying this, but this side needs to be told too.
My dad was bitten by a dog - second time within gap of 1 n half months.
My dad suffers from a disease, that makes his facial nerves twitch and eventually rendering his sight for some seconds.
We donot usually let him to go out of house unaccompanied. But once in a while he goes to the temple in early morning (within our area only). Since everyone knows us within the area, so we let him be.
For the first time, we he got bitten, we thought -- it might be my dad might have mistakenly stepped over the dog or something.
So we didnt do anything about it.
We took him to doctor for his rabies shot. They gave him the vaccination over 5 times.
The last vaccination happened on 21 april.
But today -- the same dog, the same spot.
I mean what the hell.
So I was very angry with the dog and its habits. We tried complaining to Municipality about this dog.
Do you know what is the reality?
Earlier, they would simply take away the dogs who were terrorizing the area. They would leave it within a shelter or drop it outside the city.
Now -- because of the INSTA ARMY of these dog lovers, no councilor or mayor is ready to take any action.
They are scared. Nobody wants to be featured on an insta story.
They say internet has empowered us. No. The system is still the same.
Today I had a frustrating experience during my passport verification process.
For the last 7 days, my passport application status was stuck at “Pending for physical police verification.” Since there was no update, I decided to visit the local police station to understand what was causing the delay.
I met the passport verification officer, and he asked me to return with all my documents. I went back with everything required and submitted the documents.
Instead of clearly telling me whether anything was missing, he said, “You are educated, right? Don’t you know how government work gets done?”
It was obvious what he was implying.
I asked him directly if any document was missing, but he kept repeating the same thing. Realizing he was expecting a bribe, I offered to pay via UPI because I wasn’t carrying cash. He refused and said he doesn’t use UPI.
I had to go to an ATM, withdraw cash, and eventually paid him ₹1,000.
Immediately after receiving the money, he said the verification was complete and that he would not even need to visit my home for address verification.
This is the unfortunate reality of corruption that ordinary citizens still face in India. Even for something as routine as passport verification, people are often forced to pay extra just to get their legitimate work done.
Has anyone else faced a similar experience during passport police verification?
So when I came out of metro they told me that market is closed, so I entered and saw that all the shops are closed but flea market is open, patris are open, mall is open, babu market even shops and all are also open, don't know about hidden agenda behind it. But got t shirts and shirts soo damn cheap, bought the same quality shirt but different print a week ago for 350, got that for 150 today with barely any bargaining. So ended up buying 7 shirts and 3 tshirts.

Keeping the writing and how much disgusting the boys show could be aside. The boys could never be made in India just look at the meta jokes they tell in show and how they have made fun of the religion and govt in the show
In India they could try this like mera yashu yashu, parchi wale baba, fukne wala Maulana etc so many parodies can be made the boys actually made parody of Jesus Christ which is of course not possible in our country but these parodies can be possible
Two men allegedly gangraped a 30-year-old woman for two hours inside a bus in Delhi. The woman, who was returning from a factory, reportedly approached the two men and asked time in Rani Bagh. The accused pulled her into bus and assaulted her before abandoning her near Nangloi. Delhi Police have arrested both the individuals and have seized the bus.
Option a - bail in 2 days
Option b - give him tailor machine
Option c - send him to some powerful politician to protect them
Note: tomorrow one of our own people will be on the news like this if we do not speak up today .
🚨Bank Harrasamnet: Bajaj Finance Recovery Agent Caught In Heated Confrontation In Residential Society - Viral video
This recovery agent entered the society and things got heated. When questioned about proper id and authorisation, the situation turned aggressive from both sides.
A woman from the neighbourhood was involved in the loan recovery visit. The interaction became unsafe inside the society area.
Professional conduct and proper identification should always be followed during recovery visits. Resident safety matters
Many politicians constantly speak about Hinduism, culture, morality and nationalism. But people are now asking a simple question: if leaders truly follow the values they preach, then where are honesty, responsibility and accountability?
Lord Rama is remembered by many Hindus as a symbol of dharma, justice and righteous leadership. Those values are supposed to mean protecting citizens, respecting people and governing fairly — not allowing corruption allegations and financial irregularities to keep appearing while ordinary citizens suffer.
Power should come with responsibility, not arrogance.
Today common people struggle with GST, fuel prices, inflation and taxes while politicians keep telling citizens to “follow rules” and “sacrifice for the nation.” But when audit findings raise questions over ₹54,282 crore, suddenly nobody wants to give direct answers.
The same central government that constantly points fingers at states like Tamil Nadu over corruption is now facing massive questions itself. If states are called corrupt for smaller issues, then what should people call this?
Many citizens are beginning to feel that public money is being handled without proper accountability while ordinary people are expected to obey every rule perfectly.
Citizens are frustrated because it feels like money is always available for political campaigns, advertisements and speeches, but when states ask for funds or people ask for welfare support, governments suddenly say there is “no budget.”
And the biggest anger comes from this: ordinary citizens are punished immediately for small mistakes, but powerful people rarely seem to face the same pressure when major financial irregularities are reported.
A country becomes weaker when citizens start believing that rules only apply to the public while the powerful remain protected.
Taxpayer money belongs to the people of India — not to any political party.
I've always heard about people in the west who comment about how mattress stores and laundromats are sometimes a front for the mob because of how they remain open with virtually zero business and wondered whether there's something in Bangalore that makes you feel the same way.
Last week at Bangalore airport, I unexpectedly met my former manager from my first job back in 2010. I had joined that MNC as a fresh electrical engineering graduate in 2008 and worked there for two years, performing well but eventually getting tired of the monotonous work, constant remote-site travel, and office favoritism. During the recession period, I resigned after getting selected for a central government scientific job. HR even discussed my resignation personally, and I honestly mentioned the issues I faced in my exit interview. They agreed to relieve me early instead of the standard 3-month notice period, but my manager never issued my relieving letter despite promising to arrange it on my last day. After weeks of follow-ups and avoidance from him, I moved on and focused on my new career. Fast forward 16 years later — at the airport he warmly greeted me and even appreciated my career growth, but the moment I casually reminded him about the missing relieving letter, his expression changed completely. He abruptly stood up and walked away without another word. I was genuinely shocked that someone so senior and close to retirement could react so emotionally to a simple factual reminder from the past.
A woman was allegedly gang-raped inside a stationary sleeper bus in Delhi on Monday. The two accused - the driver and conductor - have been arrested in the case today.
According to the complaint, the woman alleged that two men raped her inside the bus. The incident took place on Monday night in Delhi's Rani Bagh area. The survivor, a resident of a slum cluster in Pitampura, is employed at a factory in Mangolpuri.
18M, just tryna meet chill people in Hyderabad to hang out with 😭 Down for literally anything fun — cafes, gaming, movies, badminton, trying random food spots, exploring the city, etc. Most of my friends are busy these days so thought I’d try reddit lmao
I’m into music, gym sometimes, tech stuff, and just vibing honestly. If you’re around my age and wanna make new friends or form a group, hmu 👍
Kal se doodh ₹2 mehenga. Thode din baad petrol bhi badhega. Aur ye bhai kya h government ka pass time tha bc to prepare themselves achank aake “gold mat lo”, “WFH karo”, “petrol kam use karo”. Bhai common aadmi exactly kare kya? Seriously puch raha hu.
Sabko bas sacrifices chahiye middle class se. Har cheez ka burden aam aadmi pe daaldo aur bol do “global situation hai”, “economic pressure hai”, “adjust karo”. Salary wahi ki wahi padi hai, jobs already scarce hain, rent alag badh raha hai, groceries alag, aur ab basic cheezein bhi luxury lagne lagi hain.
Aur jo unemployed ya job seekers hain unka toh aur bhi depressing haal hai. Chota sa example deta hu bhyi mtlb companies openly time aur dignity ki maa chod rahi hain candidates ki. Kal Wipro ka walk-in tha. Mail me clearly mentioned tha interview process 12:30 tak start ho jayega. Log subah se ready hokar, travel karke, line me khade hue the. Process start hua around 3 PM. Teen ghante log bas wait karte rahe like cattle. Fir andar jaake kya hua? CV leke bol diya: “We’ll call you later.” Bas. Khatam. Insta pe viral hona shuru hogya h ye wala
Matlab seriously? Itna disrespect? Agar shortlist hi baad me karna tha toh walk-in bulaya kyun? Logo ka time free hai kya? Travel cost free hai kya? Energy free hai kya? Bohot log dusre cities se bhi aate hain hope lekar ki shayad aaj kuch ho jaye. Aur end me milta kya hai? Generic HR smile aur “we’ll get back to you.”
Fir social media pe aake bolenge “India is growing”, “youth is the future”, “record employment opportunities”. Ground reality dekhni ho toh kisi bhi walk-in drive ke bahar jaake dekh lo. Hundreds of desperate faces carrying folders like survival tickets. Degree haath me hai, skills bhi hain, but system ko farak hi nahi padta.
Aur honestly sabse zyada frustration iss baat ka hai ki problems gradually build hoti rehti hain but solutions hamesha last moment pe ya aadhe adhure aate hain. Government aur corporations dono ko pata hota hai situations kis direction me jaa rahi hain, but preparation zero. Fir suddenly public pe restrictions aur advice barsa do. Kher kahi kahi jaha sahi development hoti bhi ha waha kuch bewakuf log chize kharab karte h 0 civics sense wale.
Petrol mehenga hoga toh bolenge “public transport use karo”. Bhai har city me decent public transport hai kya? WFH bolo — har job remote possible hai kya? Gold mat lo — toh savings kaha park kare middle class? EMI, bills, groceries aur uncertainty ke beech aadmi mentally exhaust ho chuka hai.
Dollar toh bhai kya bolna! 96-98 ruppe kuch hogya hai apna indian rupee
Aur sabse dangerous cheez pata hai kya hai? Log normalize kar chuke hain ye sab. Inflation normalize. Exploitation normalize. Bas meme banao aur move on.
Kabhi kabhi genuinely lagta hai iss country me patience ko maturity nahi, majboori samjha jata hai.
Saw this at Srinidhi Veg HRBR Layout. Is this a peak bengauluru moment? I guess they are tired of people sipping a by two filter coffee for two hours while discussing seed round pitch or running a standup meeting :)
Everyday, 6PM to 8PM, daily jam for no reason. Autos and bikes fill up the wrong side, preventing incoming vehicle to pass, hence creating a daily gridlock. Average 20-45 minutes to cross 500m.
In May 2019, India was forced to stop buying oil from Iran after Trump disallowed a waiver. Trump’s former national security advisor, John Bolton, wrote in his book, The Room Where It Happened, that Trump dismissed Modi’s concerns, telling his team that ‘he’ll be okay’, with the decision.
What this meant was a denial to India of oil that had come with concessions such as free transport and insurance and 60 days of credit. India tried to explain that many of its refineries had been calibrated to process Irani crude and couldn’t suddenly shift, and also that the stopping of supply from Iran would affect prices and inflation. However, this went unheeded and Trump bent Modi to his will, possibly with the promise of a visit or joint press conference.
I'm unemployed right now and I need 200 Rs instantly. I can do deliveries for you or any online work or if you want to do some research work, I can go help you with it. You only pay after I finish the task. I'm good at math as well. I can do python programming and data analysis as well.
Do people themselves have no expectations out of their elected leaders?
You work 8 hours a day diligently and pay all your taxes honestly, but your colony does not even have a proper footpath for you to walk. Not only that, basic civic infrastructure is in complete ruins. You can quite possibly die today because you walked into some manhole on the road.
Inflation has been increasing since the past decade, while wages have remained completely stagnant.
The value of rupee is crashing. Your life savings and assets in INR are slowly losing their value, while the Government preaches you to cut out international travel and stop buying gold.
Government exam delays and cancellations are becoming a norm.
The courses taught by Government universities are outdated - a large number of graduates barely even have the skills that employers demand.
Your investments in the stock market have taken a toll, not to forget that any kind of gain is also taxed heavily.
Alternative investments like VDAs and Gold is also now taxed heavily.
The environment has degraded completely - you have to deal with extreme temperatures the entire year, and when you finally get some respite in winters, the pollution ends up killing you. Any kind of development that is undertaken, is so unplanned, that it ends up accelerating whatever respite the remaining greenery gave us.
Your PM loves having a special address for his "Women Empowerment" political speech. But couldn't give a fuck or two when there had to be proper communication about the economic crisis that the economy is facing - is it justified to use campaign speeches to send out important messages - why isn't there an official channel of communication.
You are sermonized to "WFH" - while the government doesn't even bother to come out with an official advisory regarding the same. Not to forget that once the fuel prices increase - it will the honest tax paying citizen that will have to bear the brunt of the extra cost that comes with traveling to the office daily.
Law enforcement and justice are also slowly losing their grip. Today, you could be killed by some Thar driver that has political connections, but you will never get justice for the same, while that driver with political connections will just have to write a small essay and will be let scot free.
Buying a house for yourself is an impossible dream, while your local sarkari babu eats your honest tax money, and invests the same in real estate, jacking up prices to the sky.
Your country is out of the AI game. All the big players have already cemented their position, while we remain subservient technology service exporters.
How many more years will it take for people in this country to wake up and demand accountability?
This isn't about BJP or Congress, rather just basic accountability from your elected leaders.
Apparently this is a public road where these so called political/influential people have blocked the road for god knows what purpose. There wasn’t any function either. Located in 15th main Sector 3 HSR layout. This isn’t even a dead end road although even blocking a dead end is illegal. For folks wondering this is the house of Kannada movie producer Umapathi.
I went to buy milk from a bakery today. Usually get my groceries from Smart Bazaar or dmart. I took an ordinary Nandini milk packet (the blue one), pay the amount written on the packet (Rs 24) via Google Pay. I turn to leave the shop. He calls me and says it is Rs 25. I show him the packet. He says it is still 25. I asked whether he knows what MRP stands for? He says he doesn't care. I tell him that something called consumer court exists and I don't mind taking him for a ride. There were 10 other people who had milk packets in their hand
Note. This is a Kannadiga, talking in Kannada to a Kannadiga.
Does this happen in every shop or is it just a local thing I saw?
PS. I know, it is one rupee. But it is within my rights to pay nothing more than the printed MRP.
Sadly, no one has adopted these kittens yet, and I urgently need loving homes for 3 male kittens who are now 12 weeks old.
I was taking care of a mother cat, and she unexpectedly gave birth in my flat. Since then, I’ve been caring for the kittens, but due to limited space and personal constraints, I’m unable to take care of all of them long term. Their mother cat will also be getting spayed soon.
The kittens are healthy, playful, active, and eating properly. They deserve safe, caring, permanent homes where they can get the attention and space they need.
I just want responsible adopters who will genuinely care for them.
This has become urgent, so if you or someone you know may be interested, please reach out or share this post.
Even I'm a Software engineer. I observe this shit everyday. One or the other IT employee will be waiting on the wrong side so that they can pass everyone first. Literally some cab drivers and auto drivers will wait in the traffic queue. I understand that they might be getting late to the office. But this is not the way I think so. The educated are not following traffic rules and talking shit about development in this country like responsible citizens. What do you guys think about this.
You tried crypto. They slapped a 30% flat tax on gains, allowed no set-off of losses, and added 1% TDS on transfers.
You tried equities. Budget 2024 raised STCG from 15% to 20%, raised LTCG from 10% to 12.5%, increased STT on F&O, and also killed indexation for most other long-term capital gains.
You thought fine, I’ll diversify some savings abroad through LRS. They put 20% TCS on remittances above 10 lakhs for investments abroad.
You tried Sovereign Gold Bonds, because surely a government-issued, government-backed gold hedge would be the one clean instrument they would not mess with. Then Budget 2026 came along and removed the capital gains exemption for secondary market buyers.
And now the final insult.
The Prime Minister has publicly asked you to avoid buying physical gold for a year in the “national interest,” because gold imports use foreign exchange.
So let me get this straight. A middle class wagie earning in depreciating rupees, watching FD rates hover around 6.5% while real life inflation keeps eating his purchasing power, has now been told:
Crypto is taxed like a vice.
Equities are more expensive to hold and exit.
Foreign diversification gets hit with TCS.
SGBs are being wound down and tax-narrowed.
Buying physical gold is now unpatriotic.
Basically, every single exit from rupee depreciation has been systematically curtailed. You are expected to hold your savings in instruments the government controls, at returns the government sets, for a currency the government is rapidly inflating away.
Lawmakers vehicles violating the very laws enforced by them!
Party flag is not there but the MLA (आमदार) sticker is present with invalid car registration number plate which was spotted by my cousin this Sunday evening at Colaba.
India has one of the highest rates of kidney stones in the world. The "kidney stone belt" stretches across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, UP, and Bihar. Peak season for stone attacks in these states is April to July. This is not a coincidence.
Why summer specifically triggers kidney stones:
The mechanism is straightforward. In 45 degree heat, you can lose 2 liters of water just sitting in a poorly ventilated room, and far more if you are outdoors or working manually. If you are not replacing this through water intake, your urine becomes highly concentrated. When urine is concentrated, the mineral content crosses the solubility threshold and crystals begin to form. This is the starting point of a kidney stone.
Who is most at risk in Indian summer:
- Outdoor workers: farmers, construction workers, delivery people, traffic police
- Anyone living without consistent air conditioning
- People who rely on sugary drinks, lemon soda (nimbu pani with sugar and salt), or packaged juices to hydrate (these are not adequate substitutes for water)
- Those who fast during Navratri or other religious observances without increasing water intake
- Anyone who has had a stone before. Recurrence risk is 50% within 10 years even with stone treatment
The most dangerous misconception in Indian households:
Many families believe that drinking cold water in summer can cause illness, so they restrict water intake or boil and cool it to room temperature before drinking. The temperature of the water does not matter for stone prevention. What matters is the volume. You need to be drinking enough that your urine is pale yellow or clear, not dark or orange.
What to drink:
- Plain water is best. Aim for 3 to 3.5 liters per day in peak summer, more if you are outdoors.
- Nimbu pani (fresh lemon in water) is genuinely protective. The citric acid from lemon converts to potassium citrate in the body, which is a proven stone inhibitor. Just use minimal sugar and salt.
- Coconut water is acceptable and beneficial due to its potassium content.
- Avoid colas and packaged drinks: phosphoric acid in colas directly promotes stone formation, and the sodium and sugar in most packaged drinks worsen your urinary chemistry.
When to see a urologist urgently:
- Severe pain in the back or side (flank), especially if it comes in waves
- Pain radiating to the groin or inner thigh
- Blood in the urine (can be visible as pink/red or detected on a dipstick test)
- Fever above 38 degrees with any of the above (this is a medical emergency - infected obstructed kidney can become life-threatening within hours)
For those in NCR (Gurgaon/Delhi), I see patients at a urology practice here. But honestly, the most important thing is that you know when to go to any urologist and what to ask for. If you have recurrent stones, ask specifically for a 24-hour urine metabolic test. Most urologists in India do not routinely order this test. It will show exactly which imbalance in your urine chemistry is causing your stones.
There was a time you stood in the sun asking auto walas to take you somewhere and they wouldn’t even give you a verbal rejection 😭 just look at you and drive away like you don’t exist.
These apps brought some dignity to transport. You book, you go, no begging.
And bike taxi apps especially help people who genuinely can’t afford autos everyday. Students, office workers, people trying to save money and reach places faster.
Regulate them properly for safety, sure. But shutting them down completely feels stupid.
Let people travel peacefully and reach where they want safely. ❤️
Hello guys, this is Bebo 🐶 She just turned 1 year old.
I took her in during heavy rains when she was born, and since then she’s been with us. I already have a male dog, and because I currently live in Bangalore, it’s become difficult for my family to manage two dogs at home.
We originally tried multiple times to leave her with her mother, but she would always run back to our house. Over time, she became part of the family, which is why this decision is really hard. But I also feel it’s unfair for both her and my family if we can’t give her the attention and space she truly deserves.
Since she was 4 months old, i’ve been trying to find a home for her. its just sad no one wants a female indie.
Bebo is extremely sweet ( i swear, she’s the sweetest, i wish i could keep her forever) loving, playful, and full of personality. She doesn’t bite at all and absolutely loves food 😭❤️ She can be a little scared around new people at first, so she may take some time to warm up, but once she does, she’s the most affectionate and joyful dog ever.
I’m only looking for a genuinely loving home where she can truly belong and be cared for the way she deserves.
Her vaccinations are fully up to date, and I can also get her sterilised if needed.
Please reach out if you or someone you know can give Bebo a safe and loving home 🫶
A few months ago, I shared my work here on this community, not knowing what to expect. What happened next honestly overwhelmed me, the response was incredible. So many of you reached out, encouraged me, and gave me more confidence in my work than I had before. One of those connections led to something truly special. A wonderful doctor duo, a husband and wife reached out to me and trusted me with their dental clinic. The clinic turned out beautifully, and I am truly grateful for their generosity and belief in my work. To everyone who commented, upvoted, and DM’d me after my last post, you pushed me more than you know. And to [r/hyderabad](r/hyderabad), thank you for being the kind of community where real connections are made. You are the reason this happened.
I copied a meme from this sub and wanted to see how much it would work in gujrat sub , it worked pretty well and people were supporting it shows how they have endured and learnt it the hard way
Bandstand is a public promenade. It belongs to all Mumbaikars.
A recent report says that the Bandra Bandstand Residents' Trust had put up signs like "No Pets" and warned people not to feed stray animals.
The bigger question is simple: should a private group like the Bandra Bandstand Residents' Trust be allowed to make its own rules in a public place?
Keeping the area clean is important, but public spaces should remain open and accessible to everyone.
Why should a private trust have the authority to decide what people can or cannot do in a public place like Bandstand, and could this create similar restrictions in other areas as well?
Got rolled out today - to raise complaints on issues related to potholes, garbage, streetlights, dangerous trees, stray dogs, mosquito control, park maintenance, or any other civic problems within the GBA limit. There are respective City Corporation Control Room too for registering complaints.
23 lakh students. Each one of them spent 2-3 years of their life, their parents spent ₹3-5 lakh on coaching, and someone sitting in a room somewhere sold the paper for probably ₹10,000.
And the response? CBI probe. Re-exam "soon." Same words copy pasted from June 2024.
Here's what actually bothers me. This isn't a leak problem. India runs elections for 900 million voters without this level of dysfunction. We launched a moon mission. We built UPI from scratch. But we cannot conduct one exam for 23 lakh students without it getting sold in a WhatsApp group before breakfast.
That tells you this isn't incompetence. Incompetence is random. This is structural. Someone always knows. Someone always benefits. And someone always gets a probe that quietly dies in 18 months.
The kids who didn't cheat are waiting for a date that hasn't been announced, for an exam they already gave, for a seat they already earned. The people who sold the paper are probably already destroying evidence.
Two years in a row is not a joke same agency and same result , even the press release sounds similar
At what point do we stop calling it a leak and start calling it what it is.
A couple of weeks ago, a kind redditor made a post offering to help people beat the heat by gifting coolers. I said my coworkers could use it and OP selected me!
3 of my coworkers who live in a single room have received and using it !
Like all of you, I’m currently roasting in this Delhi heat. While sitting on my balcony, I realized how much of a "Heat Island" we create. My AC keeps me cool inside, but it’s basically a flamethrower for anyone standing outside or for my neighbor's balcony.
Since my exams end on June 13th, I’ve decided to build a prototype to fix this. Here’s the "jugaad" plan I’m working on:
I'm designing a Hexagonal Clay Grill (think of a terracotta honeycomb) to be placed about 1–1.5 feet in front of the outdoor unit.
You may ask how it works:
Evaporative Cooling: we could redirect the AC condensation pipe (the waste water) so it drips onto the clay grill, keeping it constantly wet.
The Physics: As the 50°C exhaust air blasts through the wet clay, the water evaporates, stripping the heat from the air.
The Venturi Effect: I’m planning to use tapered hexagonal holes (wider at the back, narrower at the front) to speed up the airflow and shoot the air further away from the building.
Why I think this is viable for Delhi:
It uses the "waste" water the AC is already throwing out.
The 1.5-foot gap ensures there’s no "backpressure" so the compressor won't overheat or blow a fuse.
It's basically a modern version of the Jaalis and Phool-pats used in old Mughal architecture, but powered by AC exhaust.
If we could turn that 50°C "blast of fire" into even a 35-40°C breeze.
If this works, I’ll post the temperature readings and a DIY guide so more people can do it.
I’d love to hear from any engineers or DIY enthusiasts here:
-> Will terracotta hold up to the constant vibration?
-> Should I go for a specific hexagonal size for better airflow?
-> Any tips to keep it dust proof without human intervention.
Let’s try to make our streets a little less like an oven!
My girl gave her exam on 3rd May after spending months preparing for it like her life depended on it. She literally cut herself off from everything. No birthdays, no marriages, no family functions, no outings, nothing. While everyone else was living normally, she was sitting with books, notes, mock tests, stress, and anxiety every single day just to give this exam properly. She sacrificed her social life, sleep, and mental peace for it. Then today, on 12th May, they suddenly announce cancellation. Just like that. One statement and months of someone’s hard work, discipline, and emotional investment gets thrown into uncertainty.
And honestly, what the fuck is wrong with these agencies? How does an organization like NTA repeatedly fail at conducting basic examinations properly? Every year there’s some chaos — leaks, cancellations, technical nonsense, mismanagement and students are the ones paying the price for it mentally. Nobody talks enough about how badly this screws people up psychologically. You prepare yourself mentally for months, finally finish the exam, start calming down, and then suddenly you’re dragged back into stress because some incompetent system failed again. At this point, every time I see this happening, I genuinely feel like we’re living in a dysfunctional system where accountability does not exist. Then people act surprised when young people desperately want to leave this country the first chance they get.
This might not appear to be anything special for someone who lives in Delhi but to me, I was just mesmerized by the scale and importance of the city.
I had a couple of off days in Delhi before my flight to Chennai.Did very touristy things and yet I will be amazed for life.
Firstly, to see so many ministries and embassies just so casually was so surprising. It is not daily that you see that. The India Gate and the War Memorial were just "wow" too. You understand that Delhi for real is the "power centre"
Then the architecture. Be it Red Fort, Humayun's Tomb, Jama Masjid aur Qutub Minar, each monument had a charm of its own.
Needless to say, the food was special. A friend of mine took me to this place called "Sita Ram Diwan Chand" and boy, the long walk was worth it.
And what do I even say about the Delhi Metro....Wowo wow wow....To have such crazy connectivity in an air conditioned environment at such a reasonable price is incredible
Of course there is plenty of scope for improvement in many areas, but my first visit will be memorable
To start off, my phone hasn’t even captured 10% of how LOUD this was. It started at 1:20 and went on till 2am
I made a huge mistake shifting into a MHADA building 1rk because I didn’t wanna share flats with anyone but this area is just full of morons doing this shit everyday. And the funny thing is that a police station is right across the building from where this is happening but no one does anything. Apart from this, every other day there is some asshole on my door asking for money for some event and if you refuse they’ll get upset.
I guess it is my fault for thinking i could get an affordable place with some privacy but everything is always priced in, here this inconvenience is the extra cost that i probably overlooked
For anyone wondering, this is pratiksha nagar in Sion
I know the situation due to war has been quite bad but the problem is that the govt and people were just not ready to accept it. I am not saying that govt has failed or anything because even a superpower country like usa is facing consequences of the war even though they were not dependent on the hormuz so ofcourse we will have to too face too
I asked the uncle selling birdseed if this was his full-time gig. He said yes. But when I asked about his permit or land ownership, he lost his temper, told me to do my worst, and threw some पवित्र शब्द on my face🤦🏻♂️
Premson's Shopping Centre, Caves Rd, near Station, Jogeshwari East (Jogeshwari), Bandrekar Wadi, Jogeshwari East, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400060
Everyone else comes 15 mins early to get in line and get a seat , these guys are truly one of the biggest pieces of shit . Is there anything that can be done ....
These buildings are just so old and worn down. That particular area could be renovated and turned into something much better. Also, the value of that land is surely huge. Why is nothing being done? It’s such a shame that such a large space is just left like that. But I’m not gonna lie, it does give a really pretty aesthetic. From an economic point of view, though, it’s kinda stupid for whoever owns that land and building to just let it rot like that with barely any purpose whatsoever
I’m saying this as someone who is atheist and honestly trying to understand things from a human perspective rather than a religious one.
Why does every discussion nowadays somehow become Hindu vs Muslim? Whether it’s politics, social media, news, or even random comment sections, people immediately start attacking entire communities like millions of people can all be the same.
I genuinely don’t understand the obsession with hating each other over religion. Most ordinary people are just trying to study, work, survive, take care of family, and live peacefully. Yet online it feels like everyone is constantly being pushed into “us vs them.”
And before anyone misunderstands me this is not about defending extremists from any side. Extremism, violence, and hatred should be criticized no matter who does it. But blaming entire communities for the actions of some people just creates more division.
Maybe this sounds naive, but I always felt that before being Hindu, Muslim, atheist, or anything else, we are human beings first. Why is that idea becoming controversial now?
I’d genuinely like to hear respectful opinions from people across different backgrounds without this turning into another hate thread.
Mehrauli road - returning from Gurugram in the evening. My car got rear ended and these terse looking guys got down. I feared they might be angry and this might escalate. But they simply came up and started saying 'teri maatcha denge', yahin par denge, bahar nikal etc etc. Anyway I politely countered the offer saying nahi nahi mai aap sab ki maatcha lunga.
Anyway, pleasantly surprised by the growing mannerisms and cosmopolitan outlook in my beloved city.
My cousin works in another state and mostly lives there alone because his wife and daughter stay in Delhi. He was here for a few days and suggested we all meet before he left. Initially some of us said let’s just meet at his place and chill, but he insisted we go out somewhere nice, so we all agreed.
It was him, his wife, his SIL, their 6-year-old daughter, another cousin with his wife, and me. Total 6 adults and 1 kid.
The bill came to around 10k and one person paid upfront. Later when we started splitting, the cousin who had suggested the outing said we should divide it into 3 shares. I got confused and asked why 3 and not by person. According to that split, I’d basically be paying the same as a whole family of 3-4 people.
It honestly wasn’t even about the extra money. I would’ve paid without saying anything if it made sense. But I just didn’t understand why I should pay equal to an entire family when I was alone and didn’t even suggest going out in the first place.
The moment I questioned it, he got offended and started saying I was being cheap, that I should’ve counted his daughter too, and sarcastically said next time we should all pay dish-wise.
Now I genuinely want to know if I’m the odd one here. How do people usually split bills in situations like this? Per person or per family/couple?
iCars located in madhapur are known scammers. They solicit you into buying a broken car. They have tie ups with mechanic too! Please, if you have been scammed by them. Let us come forward and take legal action against them!
You can read their google reviews, unpaid fastag fines, no Rc transfer call, fake mechanics, they got it all.
When I tried the second suicide attempt, I woke up in the hospital. The nurses and doctors were so mean. They treated me harshly and pulled and prodded at the tubes in my nose without mercy. Because “I was lucky but ungrateful”. I remember I told them the reason was I don’t have a job and been unemployed for a while. But the real reason was my mom beat me. Because she suspected I was taking nudes in the bathroom since I took my phone in and she also found out I had taken a lot of sleeping pills and was high because my pupils were dilated. So in that high state, I took all the pills at once. The pharmacist was fired from his job. My mom had to pay so much money. The doctors made us wait for 3 whole days promising us psychiatric support but eventually nobody came through. When I said I was unemployed a doctor told me to go work in the petrol bunk. Another doctor rubbed his fingers against my left nipple when they were using the stethoscope “on my breast”. Even dying I can’t have peace.
Why are people becoming so incompassionate? Why is our system not rewarding decency? I love my country but I’m sick of being failed by systems that are meant to support us. They beat us in school, they assault in hospitals, they abuse at home, I’m so fucking sick of everything.
And in the middle of all this I learnt that I had been sexually assaulted as a child. Because I was reenacting sick fucking stuff as a child. And now I can’t bring to look at myself and it’s fucking agony. People abused me and I feel disgust on who? ME? Even to me I’m a doormat.
I am 17f and was travelling with my family (mother and sisters) from pune to Surat by train. Ok so I have to explain few things which will be required
On the train we got seats in one compartment but not 2 berths one seat was at side lower berth so I took that one. My front seat was shared by 2 guys because they didn't have confirmed tickets. But that's not the problem or the case.
At one station a group of rowdy men barged into the train and took up all the walking space and started singing the Hindu Bhajans with instruments. For 10 mins they sung different mantras with loud vocals accompanied by instruments on a running train. I couldn't see my mother or sisters as they took all the walking space and was completely uncomfortably surrounded by two uncles who were singing as well as looking at me. One of them had his belly poking my shoulder entire time.
The two guys who were sitting in front of me were Hindus and uncomfortable but didn't said anything. Then after 10 mins the Bhajan or mantra came to end by some religious enchanting and "Gau Mata ki hatya" "band ho" 3 times in very harsh tone looking at my mother and sister who were wearing hijab (i couldn't see my family entire time but i could see the directions where these guys turned their heads)
And at the next station they left the train!
I have never ever experienced this in my life, have great Hindu friends who never made me feel such way for existing.
I started the whole process about 3 months ago (feb 2026), it wouldn’t have taken so long but I didn’t know the exact process so I had to overcome some obstacles.
So here’s how it went:
I first applied for my learner’s license after turning 18 (yes, you can only apply after 18, I’m 100% sure). It involves filling out some forms on the sarathi parivahan website, which is easy enough (costs about 250 rupees). The first challenge I faced was with the software I had to download after filling in the forms, where the test for learner’s takes place. The software has facial recognition or something and it took forever to finish the test. You have to blink clearly in front of the camera and no background sound is tolerated either. The amount of times I had to do and redo the test because it didn’t detect the blinks or movement is genuinely crazy, I’m never getting back those hours I wasted. I tried the test on three different laptops btw (has to be windows) and on one attempt it didn’t ask for camera and mic permissions and that seemed to work - so if you’re having the same problem just don’t give cam and mic permissions.
Anyways, after finishing the test it took about a week to receive the LL (you have to check the website). After that, I had to wait for one month to apply for the DL. Again, a pretty straightforward process, you have to pay a fee of about 750 rupees in total including processing fees and track fees and some other things. Then you book a slot based on convenience, and this is where things start to take a turn. I had initially booked a slot for 9 AM, thinking I can get there early and finish the task quick. Didn’t happen.
I reached at about 8:20 (people from the KA01 RTO have to go to the Huskur track in electronic city) and got my “biometrics” done - a picture of your face and signature. I had to stand in line for more than two hours in the heat without a fan or ventilation in the office for the inspector’s signature (he came at 10:50), but after he came the line moved very quick. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a PUC certificate for my car, so didn’t get the signature, so I had to rebook the slot (the inspector left by the time I came back with the certificate).
I rebooked the slot, this time for 11 AM and the process was considerably smoother. They already had my photo so I didn’t need to take another. I had to present all my documents at another window (which I wasn’t aware of the first time) and the lady checked that everything was in order and stapled the required documents together. After that, I got the inspector’s signature and then received a NFC card. I had to do a quick test before the practical exam, just 4 theory questions.
Then, I got my car from outside (you can’t bring it inside until the documents are verified and you get another document saying you have a track appointment from the people at the track. No one other than the applicant is allowed into the track either) and parked near the track. The attendant sitting next to the track will show you what you’re supposed to do. Before each task, there is a scanner where you show your NFC card and face, wait till the light turns green and proceed to the task.
The track has a total of 5 tasks - first, you have to stop on a slope and align your rear tires with a line. Then you have to proceed up the slope without rolling back (there is about 6 inches of leeway though). After that, you have to parallel park and then drive in a figure of 8. Then you have to do a three point turn and reverse out of the track in an s shape. That’s the extent of practical testing. After you’re done, you park and go to a booth in the middle of the track where you present your documents and they tell you your result. I got my DL on digilocker a few hours later, they send you a message with the DL number which you have to enter in digilocker.
And yeah, that was my experience from start to finish. I have a few bits of advice and general info though:
If you have access to a basement or car parking with tight turns, practice manoeuvring your car through the parking so that you get used to the dimensions of your car. The entire test was in first gear.
Do try and get some practice on normal roads with your parent/someone who can teach you. Even though it’s not required for the test, you will gain confidence with the car and its controls.
Make sure all your documents and the cars documents are in order before going for the test. This includes your LL, your test slot date and time, an acknowledgement form, all available on the sarathi parivahan website. Your car documents include the registration certificate, proof of insurance, and the pollution under control certificate. They returned the car documents, but just take a copy just in case.
Since I had my own car, I didn’t have to wait in line with the driving school applicants who were sharing a car.
Here is a question bank with answers that I found for all the road signs and behaviour required: Question bank. They can ask you anything from this for the learner’s license test so just go through it once.
Went to a colleagues wedding fully decked. Post the event booked a Rapido at 1.00 AM, driver came, pick up point was given yet didnt understand and stood 700 meters ahead, asked him to come back , he said he cant. Why? We dont know. Mind you it was 1.00 AM so no traffic no horns, signals, people, yet he couldnt come. Walked to his location dressed in heavy attire and heels. The cab was an AC cab, he didnt switch on the AC, told him to do so, he shrugged and continued driving. I got bugged and told the customer care after my trip and this is the response customer care is giving. After booking an Economy cab ( which has AC ). his reply his why dont you book a premier? What the hell am i suppose to say to that?
Right now it is the most consequential place on earth for India's economy. And it has been effectively closed for 72 days.
Why India is more exposed than almost any other country
India doesn't produce enough oil. We never have.
85% of what we burn in cars, trucks, factories, power plants is imported. And the single biggest source of that oil is the Persian Gulf.
Saudi Arabia. UAE. Iraq. Kuwait. Qatar. All of it reaches India through one narrow passage the Strait of Hormuz. 34 kilometres wide at its tightest point.
When that strait is open, India gets cheap Gulf oil and a stable economy.
When it closes, India gets fuel inflation, a weakening rupee, and a current account deficit that bleeds foreign reserves.
It closed from March 4, 2026.
How it happened
February 28, the US and Israel launched coordinated strikes on Iran. They killed Supreme Leader Khamenei.
Iran's response: close the strait.
The IRGC broadcast on radio to every vessel in the area — "No ship is allowed to pass the Strait of Hormuz."
Commercial traffic dropped over 90% overnight. Ships reversed course. Insurance companies pulled war risk coverage entirely.
Iran threatened to set fire to any ship that tried to pass. They weren't bluffing , gunboats attacked tankers, drones hit vessels, the IRGC claimed they destroyed 10 commercial ships in a single day.
India got hit immediately and directly
Indian-flagged vessels were among the first caught in this.
Iran's gunboats fired on a tanker in the strait with no radio warning. India's Foreign Secretary summoned the Iranian ambassador to Delhi and conveyed "deep concern" about the safety of Indian ships and sailors. CNN
Ships bound for Indian ports carrying crude oil and LNG were stranded in the Gulf unable to move. Vessels like the Al Ghashamiya carrying LNG and the Sti Elysees carrying crude reversed course mid-journey rather than risk Iranian fire.
India was forced to urgently reroute supply chains sourcing more expensive oil from further away, paying more in shipping costs, absorbing every rupee of that difference in inflation.
The numbers hitting Indian households right now
Brent crude: $104 a barrel. Up nearly $20 since the war started.
Every $10 rise in crude costs India approximately ₹1 lakh crore annually in additional import costs.
That flows directly into:
Petrol and diesel prices
Cooking gas cylinders
Transport costs
Everything transported by truck , which is almost everything
The government has been raiding the strategic petroleum reserve and cutting fuel taxes just to keep pump prices from spiralling. Those are short-term patches. They don't fix a closed strait.
India's impossible position
Here is where it gets complicated for us specifically.
India has historically maintained close ties with both Iran and the US. "Strategic autonomy" we buy Russian oil, we trade with Iran, we partner with America. We don't pick sides.
But this war has forced exactly that.
The US imposed sanctions on countries buying Iranian crude. India, which had been quietly importing discounted Iranian oil for years, had to reduce those purchases under American pressure.
At the same time, India needs the strait open. And only America has the military power to force it open.
So India is caught we can't fully back the US military campaign without alienating Iran and Russia, but we desperately need the outcome that only American military pressure can deliver.
We sent our Foreign Secretary to summon the Iranian ambassador. We signed international statements calling for freedom of navigation. But we haven't taken sides publicly.
Meanwhile our oil import bill keeps climbing.
What's happening today right now
This morning Iran sent its peace counter-proposal through Pakistani mediators.
Inside it: Iran demands international recognition of sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz as a condition of peace.
Read that again. Iran wants the world to legally accept that it owns and permanently controls the water through which India's oil supply flows.
Trump called it "totally unacceptable."
Oil jumped 3% within hours of that statement. Brent is at $104.50 as of this morning.
Trump flies to Beijing this week to meet Xi. China is Iran's biggest oil customer and has been quietly profiting from the crisis. America wants China to pressure Iran into a deal.
Whatever happens in that Beijing summit directly affects how long this strait stays closed.
Which directly affects what you pay at the petrol pump next month.
The part nobody is saying out loud in India
We are 72 days into the world's biggest oil supply disruption since the 1970s.
Our foreign reserves are absorbing the shock. Our subsidy bill is expanding. Our inflation is being managed for now.
But there is no end date to this crisis. Peace talks collapsed this morning. A hardline faction inside Iran is actively trying to sabotage any deal. The US and Iran fired on each other's vessels just 4 days ago.
India has no leverage here. We are not a party to this war. We cannot open the strait. We cannot force a ceasefire.
We can only watch, pay more, and hope the two parties with nuclear weapons find a way to stop shooting at each other before our import bill becomes a crisis we can no longer absorb quietly.
The Strait of Hormuz is 3,500 kilometres from Delhi.
It determines your grocery bill, your fuel price, and the value of the rupee in your pocket.

Yesterday was a total eye-opener. I was heading to Bandra to meet up with this new guy, and honestly, the thought of arriving all sweaty and mess was not the vibe. I had chosen my fit carefully, looking sharp and confident definitely not the kind of look you want to ruin with humidity.
So I decided to take the AC local instead of the regular second class.
Honestly? It should be the norm by now.
The moment those doors slide shut, the world just... quiets down. You go from the chaotic, sweaty madness of the platform into this chilled, silent bubble. No wind hitting your face,no dust ruining your hair, just pure, consistent cooling. I spent the whole ride actually relaxed, checking my watch and feeling in control rather than fighting for a spot under the fan.
While everyone else was probably battling the crowds and the heat, I was just chilling (literally) in my own bubble. No sweat, no mess, just pure peace. I actually reached the station looking exactly like I did when I left home sharp, confident, smelling good and ready for whatever the afternoon had in store.
CBI caught Delhi police hiding evidence. But it failed to identify at least seven Delhi policemen caught on video beating Faizan to death during the Delhi violence in 2020. It charged only two constables, with offences less than murder.
Why ask for ₹50, ₹60, ₹70, or ₹80 extra when you can just ask for ₹15, ₹20, or ₹30 more? I swear, Rapido is causing this whole auto inflation mess. The normal fare by meter is around ₹170 for a 6 km ride and I’m already being generous here. I’m already paying a ₹30 premium on top of that, and then they still want another ₹50 extra? That makes the whole trip ₹250. How is this even fair?
The kind of cash grabbing scam these Rapido auto drivers are running is absolutely disgusting. There will come a time when people wouldn’t go by meter CAUSE NO FCKING AUTO WALA WILL GO BY METER EVERYONE WILL GO VIA RAPIDO. And we will be overpaying them by 60–70% of the base fare. THESE FCKING ROBBERS.
And I AM FCKING LATE FOR OFFICE SO I HAVE TO PAY THE EXTRA ₹50 NOW. FCKING THIS.
