In the navigation, a new section for "later folktales": folktales which are mostly prose but include some runosong lines. I added more to "kade" in glossary explaining how it's similar to the evil eye. In cosmology, added a page for "fate". In deities and heroes, added pages for Kihovauhkonen and Leävätär.
Added the page for Väinämöinen which was a lot of workkkkkk so I'm sure I'm missing something and will need to add later! Also added new images for Päivätär, Kuutar, and Vellamo and Ahti.
Added the page for Sämpsä Pellervoinen, as well as Mielikki and Tapio. I'm not sure if I'm satisfied with the latter and might expand on it later. Also added into on Tapionpöytä in the holy sites.
Big update here, I changed the link colours and everything so I'd be able to see something. Added a new section for locations and there, Pohjola, and added a page for Lemminkäinen. I also added a new section below that features a runosong incantation that should change every month if I got this javascript to work properly... I also added extra information on Päivätär's page.
Huge expansion on Maahiset page, added pages for Kivutar, Kaleva and Kullervo in deitties and heroes, and for Liekkiö in creatures. Additional resources linked in Links.
Divided runosongs into myths and ballads for now, and added translation for the ballad of Iivari Kojonen. Added a page for Joukahainen in deities and heroes, and for Rahkonen in creatures. Encountered some frustrating assumptions elsewhere so I made a FAQ section. Also added a photo of a Kallohonka to the holy sites page.
Added a Glossary which I should've probably started with, lol. Added information about Saari in Locations. Added information about Juoletar in Deities. Added myths of The Island at the Center of the World and Birth of Kaleva, the ballad of the Golden Wheel Oak, and incantations for Löyly and Shrove Tuesday. Added Tuuletar/Tuuliainen and Lempo to creatures. More links in Links! Had to create a FAQ because I encountered unbelievably dumb claims on Xitter and wanted to just kinda dodge them on here from the get-go. And also made a page for photos of tietäjät from the 20th century because someone tried to tell me all the stuff I'm talking about on this site "died a thousand years ago". Really testing my patience!
Added an additional glossary for traditional clothing (link in the glossary page). Added a page for the world pillar, Sammas, as well as tietäjä in cosmology. In deities, I added an additional essay of mine on the supposed "wife of Ukko". Oh, and also! The little info we have on Köndös is also in deities.
Woohoo, this website is now listed on powRSS! I also made a webgarden for it which you can find on the info page. And I also added more links there. In deities, I added a page for "Hiisi" as he appears as forest deity and giant (it's a bit of an unclear situation). In myths, I added the Ski Hunting of the Moose of Hiisi.
In my spirit of being slightly controversial, I combined the pages of forest god Hiisi and male Tapio. As requested, I made a page for Tursas/Turilas, but that led me to side tangents and I also added pages for Uros (mythic saviour from the sea) as well as Tiera. I also added some... anti-Nazi stuff on the front page. At first, I thought I wouldn't need to do that as Finnish pagan spaces are not filled with Nazis or such. I mean like actual pagan groups, associations, companies, what have you, they are not fascist nor do they flirt with that. However, that does seem to be a big problem with international and English-speaking circles, so I just wanted to make it clear on here that Finnish tradition does NOT fit into the mold that neo-Nazis think paganism is. Any fantasies about "glorious warriors" or whatever has no space here either, most of these traditions belong to farming peasants and not some Glorious Warrior People or whatever.
First of all, I added more to Louhi's page: a little bit of info on her in Tavastian (Häme, Pirkanmaa) runosongs. In deities, I made a page for Kuohutar/Kosketar. In myths, I translated runosongs of the Nine diseases, The Release of the Celestial Lights, Origin of Iron, and The Forging of Ilmarinen.
I got to meet some pagans irl, I'm pretty excited so I'm telling you *heart*. Anyways, first of all in deities, we now have a page for Hyytämöinen and Lievetyinen (winter and summer). Then, I translated plenty more myths: Runosong competition against Joukahainen, The Knee Wound of Väinämöinen, The Song of Vipunen, and The Awakening of Sämpsä. I also added more "subcategories" in the myths page so you can now see all myths listed, as well as Väinämöinen myths and Saari-related myths in their own lists.
I feel like my translation quality has been poor lately, but I kind of don't care. So now there are myths for the Death of Lemminkäinen, the Song of Lemminkäinen (+ Väinämöinen's journey to Pohjola), and the Drinking Party of Saariala, as well as the ballad Sing, My Wretched Tongue, and incantation for greeting the new Moon was added to incantations (it used to only be on the rituals page). I also added Hiiden malja to the rituals page.
Small edits: I've added maps to multiple pages on creatures, myths, and the glossary. I added images of the Northern maiden. I changed the navigation and it now has a section for "other information", in which there is a page for information about witch hunts in Finnish history. Added more resources in Finnish, English, and... Latin. I started writing about marriage in rituals, but that section is still WIP. I added Veteinen and Näkki" in creatures and Päivölä in locations. Added additional info about creation myths to the dualism page.
