ultrarare.spaceci.guix.moe is a small build farm I run that builds packages and serves substitutes (pre-built binary cache) for the Guix community. It’s the primary service under “Guix Moe” and provides infrastructure for other services.\nMainly focused on substitutes availability, it reuses upstream Guix substitutes. With a modified layout for cached substitutes (similiar to a proposed idea), this build farm also demonstrates a mirroring approach that is easy to set up and can be used right now.\n

I’m grateful to Nemin for writing about his experiences with Guix! I’ve been thinking about it for months at this stage, and have an aarch64 VM from the 1.5.0 release. It’s felt awkward and I haven’t known how to get started, particularly because of how slow things seem to be.
