I have a pile of things to write about so . . . I’m going to tinker with my blog instead. There are just a lot of little things that have been bugging me for awhile, so let’s see what I can take care rather than write what I really want to write about.
At 160k words, this is by no means a small blog. When years of annoyances with Jekyll boiled over, I decided to migrate the Jekyll blog over to Hugo. The results were amazing and will hopefully lower the barrier needed for me to continue writing unencumbered.
By no stretch of imagination am I a frontend person. Graphic design is not my passion. I even got the colour blindness perk. I do like this little website I’ve written over the years and I kind of want it to look nice. And while the design I had created a few years ago still works, it’s also dependent on an outdated version of Jekyll, and it has a few technical issues. So please, follow a long, as a DevOps engineer tries to explain how to make a nice-looking website.
