People used to blame heavy metal for youth suicides in the 1980s, but it saved me.
IndieWeb Carnival is a blog carnival on topics related to the IndieWeb specifically.

The year was 2004 or 2005 and I had been reading about Ultima Online.

For this month’s IndieWeb Carnival, Riccardo invites us to write about multilingualism in web so I decided to ponder my relationship with language and why this site is almost completely in English.
How big tech made us forget the shared language of the internet.
In your darkest hour, what saved you? What helped you find the strength to carry on?
My contribution to the October 2024 IndieWeb Carnival, about how my online and offline lives are affected by multiple languages.
This post has been updated and now has both an English and an Italian version of it! Incredibly, it's already August today. I don't understand how 8 months …
AI models like large language models can make it seem easier to create notes and extract information about them. But notes don’t exist for the sake of creating them or outputs based on them. Notes are a tangible tool to assist thinking and using too much automation to skip that thinking will reduce the value of your notes.
I want to learn and explore new things based on recommendations by other people rather than machines design to maximise engagement.
This is my entry for February’s IndieWeb carnival. This month is hosted by yours truly and I’d love to have you as part of this initiative. Digital …
No, it was always irrelevant if you had your own domain and site. Everything else is optional.
I’m using this month’s topic for indieweb carnival as an excuse for full scale reminiscing. Reminiscing about the relationships I’ve had that have been largely or wholly digital and how technology affected my analogue relationships. The good old days Internet service availability started to become ubiquitous in this part of the world as I started secondary school in 1996. I think I started to use the internet daily in ‘97 or ‘98.

Let’s take a look at all the wonderful posts people wrote this month about their creative environments.

As July wraps up, I’m excited to be hosting next month’s IndieWeb Carnival! The topic will be rituals. It is purposely a very open theme and I can’t
My laptop and I have been through a lot together.
What I learned (re)building my website in Astro.
Firstly, I think it's important to distinguish between the indie web and the IndieWeb. The IndieWeb is, as far as I can tell, a community of people who advocate certain digital principles and support each other in working towards those. The most famous principle is Publish (on your) Own Site,…
Instructions, theme explanation and entries of IndieWeb Carnival for October 2024. This month’s entries will deal with the predominance of English despite the richness of human languages, the relations between online and offline-speak and so much more!

Longest Voyage is Jamie Crisman's home for notes, bad writing, and randomly updated blog: This is my IndieWeb Carnival post. The main focus of the carnival is to motivate people to write on their personal sites. Each month a different blogger hosts the carnival and they decide a theme. This month is hosted by Manu and if you haven’t guessed from the title the theme is “digital relationships”. – My real introduction to the internet was Neopets. We got non-dial up internet and you could just be online anytime! Neopets had this thing called guilds. And they would be themed around different things. I can’t quite remember all the different ones I joined, but I am sure it was either video game or anime related. And I would talk to people I met on there on MSN messenger. We would chat or play games together. I was like 12 or 13 at the time talking to people who were usually older than me by a few years1.
Io non sono mai soddisfatto. Resto convinto che si possa fare sempre meglio. A tal punto che spesso fatico a gioire dei momenti felici. Ad apprezzare quelle …

It’s my turn to host IndieWeb Carnival again and this year I’m inviting you to write a love letter to someone or something you appreciate and want to share with the world. Be unapologetically excited about what you’re passionate about and let it show.

Wait, what day is it?
This month’s IndieWeb Carnival is hosted by Riccardo with the theme multilingualism in a global web. I personally experience the web happens in two languages, Brazilian Portuguese my home tongue and English the language I’ve chosen for most of the writing and reading I do online. When I started this blog, over 20 years ago now, I was writing in Portuguese but later I decide to write in English and never looked back.
I'm hosting the third BlogBlog Party. The March theme is 'Perfect Days.' Come join us!

Ruby red is my main colour I use across my website, CVs, resumes, presentations. Over the years, I’ve grown to really like it and consider it mine.
Where does my creativity come from, and what creates those environments that open the floodgates of inspiration and fervour?
