Um broche que eu fiz da perna cabeluda do Agente Secreto. Eu não consigo superar o fato de que deram o Oscar pro elenco de Uma Batalha Após a Outra, elenco que que qualquer um poderia escalar, que palhaçada.

3 movies I decided to watch only and solely because of the poster (YES, we can judge a book by its cover and we can judge a movie by its poster and everyone who says the opposite is just completely and utterly wrong).

I’m not gonna say what the movies are about, ‘cause I knew nothing when I watched them and it was great and I wish the same experience to everyone else.

I'm not sure where I first saw these posters, but I'm really glad I did because this movie is amazing. The acting, the landscapes, the costume and set design, the make-up, the wigs, the weird shots and the cat POV, everything about this movie is on point. There is one very specific scene with oranges that really got to me. The film is pure aesthetic and pure melodrama, it’s a masterpiece and everyone should watch it. I mean it.

Okay... to be complete honest, it was not only and solely because of the poster, it was the combo poster + movie title. I mean, what to expect from a movie with that name and that poster? Only one of the most campy-over-the-top slasher movies ever made. If that’s your thing, this is a must see.

The movie starts immediately, there’s no subtlety whatsoever. it JUST STARTS and you’re instantly hooked. Actually, I just realized that the movie is also a bit melodramatic, I guess that’s what my Brazilian-soap-opera-addicted brain craves.

The film is also known by the title “Night Warning”, which doesn’t have the same appeal to me, so I’m happy that when I first found out about it, it was through the right poster and right title.

I didn't know what to expect from this, but I knew I would like it. This poster is the most perfect representation of what the movie is and of what it represents to me, which is the EXACTLY opposite of anything AI related. It's so simple and yet so meaningful.

The movie is actually a compilation of almost 80 episodes of this very unique animation and it’s avaible on youtube. It was how I was introduced to Albert Birney’s work, and I became an instant fan. In fact, it was one of his movies, The Beast Peagent (2010), that made me a true believer that DIY will save us from all this AI crap. It’s the kind of movie that makes you wanna DO stuff, I don’t know how to explain it, but I truly love that feeling.

So, that's it I guess. I highly recommend watching random movies without knowing anything about them because it's delightful, and it's definitely way better to judge a movie by its poster than by its trailer, so that’s why I won’t link any trailers.

Also, I want to include a TV series that I started to watch because of the poster and the director and who would have guessed that the poster was actually the only good thing about it? We can’t win them all. I'm still a fan of the poster tho

3 filmes que eu decidi assistir única e exclusivamente por causa do pôster - porque eu acredito que SIM, a gente pode julgar livros pela capa e filmes pelo pôster e qualquer pessoa que diz o contrario está erradíssima!

Mas também não vou dar muita informação sobre os filmes porque foi ótimo assistir sem saber nada e eu desejo a mesma experiência pra qualquer pessoa que eventualmente for assistir algum deles.

Eu nem lembro onde vi os pôsteres, mas que bom que eu vi, porque esse filme foi uma surpresa maravilhosa. As atuações, as paisagens, a cenografia, o figurino, as perucas e as maquiagens, as câmeras esquisitas e o ponto de vista do gato, tudo nesse filme é perfeito. Tem uma cena envolvendo laranjas que me pegou demais. O filme é pura estética e melodrama, é uma obra prima e todo mundo devia assistir.

Pra ser sincera esse não foi única e exclusivamente por causa do pôster, foi pelo combo pôster + título, porque né? O que esperar de um filme com esse nome e esse pôster? Um slasher super intenso, exageradíssimo e também meio melodramático porque aparentemente eu preciso alimentar a noveleira que existe dentro de mim. O filme começa imediatamente, sem introdução, sem um gancho, sem sutileza nenhuma, ele simplesmente começa e te prende no primeiro segundo, é muito bom.

Ele também é conhecido pelo título “Night Warning”, o que não é tão atrativo pra mim, então fico feliz de ter me deparado com o filme pelo pôster e pelo título corretos.

Eu não sabia bem o que esperar desse, mas sabia que ia gostar. Esse pôster é a representação perfeita do que o filme é, e também do que ele representa pra mim, que é o EXATO oposto de qualquer coisa relacionada à IA. Ele é muito simples mas ao mesmo tempo... sei lá, acho que perspicaz?

O filme na verdade é uma compilação de quase 80 episódios dessa animação esquisitinha e tá disponível no youtube. Foi como eu conheci o trabalho do Albert Birney e virei fã muito rápido. Foi outro filme dele, The Beast Peagent (2010), que me transformou numa pessoa muito convicta de que o feito a mão é o que vai nos salvar do inferno que é a IA. É o tipo de filme que vc acaba querendo FAZER coisas, sabe? Não sei explicar, mas é a sensação que fica, é mto bom.

É isso. Recomendo muito filmes sem saber nada sobre de vez em quando, porque é uma delícia, e tb é bem melhor julgar um filme pelo pôster do que pelo trailer, por isso não vou colocar link pra trailer nenhum.

Como nem tudo são flores, vou incluir também uma série que eu fui assistir pelo pôster e pelo diretor e mal sabia eu que a única coisa boa seria o pôster mesmo, uma pena. mantenho minha opinião sobre o pôster, é mto bom

Minha grande frustração na vida é não ser uma pessoa persuasiva o suficiente pra convencer as pessoas a assistir coisas, então se eu conseguir convencer uma pessoinha a assistir esse filme eu já ficarei feliz (mentira, eu queria fazer laranja-mecânica e forçar esse filme em todo mundo que eu conheço).

O filme no caso é Dança dos Pássaros, um documentário fofíssimo de 2019 sobre, tcharam, pássaros. Eu sei que não soa como a coisa mais divertida de se assistir, nem todo mundo gosta de documentários de natureza, mas esse é diferente. Ele É divertido. E fofíssimo.

O filme segue diferentes aves do paraíso e suas tentativas ousadas, extravagantes e às vezes mal sucedidas para atrair suas respectivas fêmeas. E elas são mesmo fofíssimas, majestosas, lindas e incrivelmente talentosas. Sério, é impressionante.

São pássaros e são drag queens. Dançarinos. Músicos, arquitetos, decoradores. Eles fazem loucuras pra seduzir uma passarinha que você jamais esperaria de um pássaro. E eu já disse que são fofíssimos?

Como se as aves já não fossem o suficiente, o filme tem uma narração muito bem humorada feita pelo Stephen Fry e uma trilha sonora que só deixa tudo mais divertido (e, sim, fofo, desculpa). A gente segue as aves quase como numa comédia romântica, e só nos resta torcer para encontrar alguém como o MacGregor('s Bowerbird) para chamar de nosso.

Eu juro que você vai se surpreender com o quanto você vai gostar de um documentário sobre pássaros.

E eu sei que eu provavelmente não fiz um bom trabalho e não convenci ninguém de assistir o filme, mas talvez esse gif convença. E quer saber? Se não te convencer, talvez você não mereça mesmo! (mas assiste mesmo assim, vai)

I’m really bad at persuading people to watch stuff but if I could get one person to watch this movie I’ll be happy enough (not really, I wish I could clockwork-orange this movie to everyone I know).

I’m talking about Dancing with the Birds, an adorable 2019 documentary about birds. I know it doesn’t sound like a super fun watch, not everyone likes nature documentaries, but this one is different. It IS fun. And adorable. It follows different birds of paradise and their bold (and sometimes failed) attempts to attract potential mates. And let me tell you, they are adorable, they are beautiful, they are majestic and, most of all, they are incredibly talented. Really.

They are drag queens. They are dancers. They are musicians. They are architects and interior designers. And they go above and beyond to seduce a lady. And did I mention adorable?

If the birds themselves weren’t enough, the documentary is very well and humorously narrated by Stephen Fry and it has a great soundtrack that only make things… well, even more adorable and fun (sorry)! We follow the birds almost like it’s a romcom, but cuter, and we can only hope to find a human version of MacGregor’s Bowerbird for ourselves.

I promise you’ll be surprise with how much you’ll love a documentary about birds.

And I know I probably didn’t do a good job convincing anyone with this, but maybe this gif will. and if not, maybe you just don't deserve it! (but please, do watch it anyways) (this is the superb bird-of-paradise - and it is, indeed, superb)
