A few notes I made for myself that you might useful!

– Django is a full feature framework. Instagram uses it for back-end. It’s originally a news-type framework. New York post uses it.
– Flask is simple enough.
– Lots more Django jobs than Flask.
– Flask is slightly faster than Django.
– Flask is not a web framework but is built on top of WSGI. Both use it.
– Both have mature community, say, on Stackoverflow.
– Netflix runs on Flask, so does Lyft, Rack space, AirBnb, and more.
– Flask is liked because we build restful APIs for the back-end and there is a front-end like React. Flask excels here.
– Flask should outnumber Django with time.
– Django is Larger but both are good.
– A lot goes into setting up Django, with a steeper learning curve.
– We use the Django ORM using its Data models. Flask doesn’t have those. Django ORM is built in.
– Flask adds on SQLAlchemy ORM, MongoEngine ODM or Peewee.
– Flask functionality is delegated to third party.
– Go ahead and .query or .filter with Flask SQLAlchemy.
– Flask allows flexibility. Mongo, Google app engine, etc. Django will usually assume Django ORM.
– Create a user profile model to add extra user info in Django.
– Flask-login also does magical standard stuff. It comes with @login_required decorator.
– Flask can opt out of Flask-login.
– Flask-admin extension also exists Vs Django-admin.
– Flask-security also exists.
– Flask has blueprints to help glue logic together.
– Django apps are more comprehensive but rather complex.
– For Django API, use Django REST framework.
– For flask, use marshmallow to serialize. Say, exclude password when passing the user model around.
– If okay with Django restrictions and templates, go ahead. It sets up a lot for you.
– If you want to do things differently, go Flask. Especially if your requirements defer from what Django offers.

The sky opens up, to embrace a lovely gaze
Beauty stares down at beautiful,
With a longing so pure, she smiles
Two deep gazes bloom intertwined
The heavens just met their match;
They met Rose, yes, indeed they did

Is the mirror the most blessed every morn?
Or is it the water dashed upon your face?
Do they smile like I do,
When I look upon your face?
Is my view of Rose, the envy of the skies?
If this is a dream; dare not wake me!

My heart has got eyes
And they see deeper, beyond,
Past the beckoning of your smile;
They look into your heart
And gaze upon true beauty
Does the Rose see the same beauty that I see?

The character of my Rose
Is so deeply embroidered with good,
With love, grace, and with Christ
This beauty is unbeatable; it lasts an eternity
And the beholder is my one and only;
Beautiful Rose, yes, she’s Beautiful

I’ve got this feeling in my heart,
And it makes me cloud my judgment
They that I think about the most,
Have me stashed away in some cage
I hate to note that it’s the truth
For it makes my mind wild out all the time
It has been this way, way too long!
And now it’s time to ride on, soar high!
I will not be belittled; not by little or mighty!
For I know exactly where I stand,
Though these feelings keep clouding my judgment;
A case of retrospect of happiness past

Might I ponder what kept me so happy then!
What blinded me; love or infatuation?
Or was it that my heart beat on intuitively;
For that seems to be the rule on feelings
My mind always saw the red flags
But heart, oh heart!
Why hast thou forsaken me?
Oh wait! I love the way my heart rolls!
Because I always pick up the pieces!

I know it all sounds pathetic; I hear it!
And pathetic is a cycle of rebounds and no lessons learnt
Perhaps I have always placed too much faith in people
Only to realize that we all are wired differently
Something that I notice each time,
And that’s my bad!

From now on, I’ll give my mind a chance
But not too much faith,
For my heart needs the bearings

Of the maternity ward;
An enclosure of unheard screams
Right next to the cancer ward;
A tale of the undying
Pieces of justice lay

Have we partly lost it
Or is it just less found
When society’s grand mosaic is beheld
With pieces of justice and injustice alike?
Lets block our ears to all this clatter
Lest we join hands to patch up the fabric
That clothes our present and toddler of future time
Are we yet comfortable with all the pieces alike?

Well, I’m a moving, living, breathing piece of work
And I know I only matter to myself
So, I seek to keep the world at bay
If too much is said,
I blurt out something to keep their mouths shut!

Who? So you say? I’m a rich dude working my grind
So I rock hot jeans with the coolest of hoodies
Don’t you know? Money moves the world for me!
If you doubt it, ask all my lovers;
I set the bar high!

Well, I’m a house guy, and I keep to myself
I don’t need anybody trying to make me happier
Truthfully, all I do is me
And the world spinning around me is what counts
So don’t try to classify my personality
I simply love me trapped up in me!

Hmm, who made the world? What now?
Na-ah! Mother nature dated evolution
They broke up; so now we’re ape-babies
The future got us bald-headed as aliens
I don’t believe in no God! I’m an atheist!
So when I die, throw my ashes in the ocean!

Resurrection? Don’t get me started!
Reincarnation? Y’all are a lost cause!
Religion? What a bunch of lunatics!
Meh! You worship wood and rocks?
You’ve got a loose screw up in there!

Well, I guess I’m different!
Just like the rest of y’all
Some dude told me, a dude died for me!
Like really!? 2000 years ago!
Meh! I’m tired of all this heresy!
You live your life; am gonna live mine!
I can die for me just fine already!

A mug of beer and a bowl of peanuts!
That’s all I need to make a god!
Lunatic Christians! Think they know it all?
Where was their God when death came a knocking?
I’ve lost a lot but then I found a bottle
Once I see it’s bottom, am on my cloud nine!

Jesus! Jesus! I call out the name; I’m told it saves!
Been caught up in this abyss! Stuck in a brothel!
Sex is a god, and he is generous!
Why would Jesus save me, when I’m this filthy?
They think it’s easy, but this sexy love
Has got me stuck in deep like quick sand
And boy am I drunk in love!
With plenty more to go around; you just have to try it!
Yet still I feel lost; like a drudged soul!

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.”
Well, am I booked for eternity, by simply believing?
I mean, I still sin and it’s a battle-zone!
My Pastor told me that I’d be set free,
If only I said the words!?

Everybody’s got an opinion; a certain point of view!
Like we all go searching for the truth; seeking the divine
The truth is found for some
Others are lost along the way, and hardly ever found!
We struggle, shooting flaming arrows
Into the enveloping darkness and sadly, never getting home!
But Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life!
And no one goes to the Father, God in heaven
Except that they believe in the Lord Jesus Christ!

Is Christ your identity?

Hello! Passionate techie here! A team worker, one happy with group achievement, driven individual and avid fast learner comfortable with working on my own as well as part of a team. I love a good challenge because that’s where the thinking begins and hope to positively impact the world at unprecedented levels while at it. I’ve been working professionally as a Software Developer since 2015 both on on-site and distributed agile teams. I hold a Bachelor of Information Technology and Computing Degree from Kyambogo University.

I have worked professionally in the Software Development field since October 2015; working on Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP software, SACCO and Financial Institution software, Hospital software, in-house tools and consumer software/apps.

My details can be viewed on LinkedIn or GitHub. For my software development set up, take a look at my uses post. I have worked on multiple projects in PHP and Laravel, JavaScript, Python and Flask, Android – Kotlin/Java, Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Java-Swing. However, I adapt to the technologies required on a project by project basis.

A few include:

  • EVO Authenticator, an Android app providing simple straightforward multi-factor authentication.
  • FASCIS and NUCAFE Android applications for profiling farmers. On-going work with Hamwe East Africa Limited.
  • Kawa Coaches (Android): A bus seat booking application for buses in Uganda.
  • Bleacher Report (Android): Sports social platform for highlights and highly engaging sports content designed for the Millennial and Generation Z. Product by Bleacher Report.
  • Pulse Mobile (Android): An Android app used by managers at Andela to rate Developers.
  • Converge Mobile (Android): a Meeting Room Management Android tablet app that makes booking rooms and utilizing room resources more efficient, and shows a countdown of the duration for which the rooms are booked.
  • Developers (Android): Nairobi Java developers listing based on a GitHub API.
  • WeConnect (Python/Flask/React): A full-stack web Business Review Platform.
  • Streamline (PHP/Laravel): A Hospital Management System by Innovation Stream Limited. It is widely used by Administrators, Medical personnel and Accountants at multiple Ugandan Hospitals. It comes with unique functionality defined for various users. Also, it enables clinicians to deliver health care efficiently by providing key patient safety prompts across the entire patient journey (triage to discharge).
  • Streamcredit (PHP): A Financial Institutions Management System by Innovation Stream Limited. It was adopted by at least five clients.
  • Custom feature development for Microsoft Dynamics NAV clients under HRP Solutions. Provided consultancy to clients both onsite and remotely.

Besides the paid-for works listed above, I worked on a number of projects/experiments/competitions both in past and present times:

More of my works/experiments can be found on my GitHub profile.

I love learning new and interesting things, and have an interest in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning for the near future. Beyond code, I am a Poet and play Chess!
