A new online seminar starts today (Tuesday 12th): The Long Run—Topics in Ergodic Theory (link: https://math.pku.edu.cn/teachers/lizq/seminars/ergodic_theory/index.html). It will be happening on the second Tuesday each month 10am-12pm US Eastern Time / 4-6pm CEST time / 10pm-12am China time. Today it will feature talks by Mark Pollicott and Oliver Jenkinson.

Mathieu Helfter lets me know that the « Second ISTA Summer School in Dynamical Systems », will be held 28 – 30 septembre 2026 in Strobl (Austria).
There will be three mini-courses given by Kostiantyn Drach, Anna Florio et Alfonso Sorrentino. There will also be a small number of talks and some posters. More information can be found on this website. Young selected participants will receive funding for their living expenses as well as up to around 300€ for travel expenses.

Pour la troisième fois, et la deuxième consécutive notre projet (porteurs: Françoise Pène et Sylvain Crovisier) a été rejeté par l’Agence Nationale de la Recherche. Nous attendons le rapport expliquant ce refus (petite élégance en plus, quand un projet est rejeté, vous ne l’apprenez qu’en constatant que vous n’êtes pas sur la liste).
Mais nous voyons bien que le rôle de cette agence est de transformer “y’ a plus” en “t’es pas assez bon”, bref le cache-misère de la recherche française.

This joint paper with Sylvain Crovisier and Yuri Lima has just been published online in Advances. Here is the nearly identical arxiv version. For any , we build a suspension over a Markov shift coding the hyperbolic dynamics of a smooth 3-dimensional flow. We manage to code all -hyperbolic measures, thus strengthening a previous construction of Lima and Sarig. We also localize the coding: given any hyperbolic periodic orbit, we exhibit an irreducible component coding for all -hyperbolic measures which are homoclinically related to the chosen periodic orbit.
