Happy National Eraser Day!

Typographic gold in this collection of thirty 1950s Milwaukee bus tickets. The print textures & surprisingly wild palettes did not get unnoticed either.
These have been kindly sent by Transit Tickets, a growing Instagram archive of transport tickets from around the world. A must follow.

500 cardboard portraits is a series of faces which are cut or torn into corrugated board, but these are pencil drawings - not photos. Amazing work, also available as a book, by Russell Herron.
Sometimes cute, sometimes frightening but they all capture an emotion and mood.

For more from our trip there are two story highlights on our Instagram. We hope it is useful if you are travelling there soon.

From the 1960s these French blotters promoted an encyclopaedia company. We have scanned them here for the multitude of illustrations, and if you would like one to frame our stock (which shifts often) is here.

Scans from an old peg/mosaic game we found years ago. These are the guide sheets for children to match coloured pieces and build the image.

There are several good Walkman/personal stereo archives online (eg Walkman Archive, Walkman Central) but Walkman Land is definitely the slickest.

Scanned today from an old label company catalogue & posted on our Instagram.
Our Bloomsbury shop is at 12 Bury Place WC1A 2JL, close to the British Museum and next door to a tremendous bookshop.
Monday to Saturday from 11 – 6pm.
Shop History.
We started in 2005 with an occasional market stall off Brick Lane. Here we sold handmade stationery and products found on trips during a previous job.
In 2009 we launched our first e-commerce site, before opening our shop in 2012 in EC1 (Clerkenwell).
The premise of the shop has always been the same, new and original vintage office supplies and ephemera from around the world. Things we love, alongside things we make.
In 2023, after a few years of saving, we were lucky enough to move & have an upgrade to a larger location. This is the store shown below.
Thanks for your ongoing support!
All photos here are by Nick at Building Narratives. And the store fit out is by Architecture for London and P&C.

Fifty early 20th Century, pre-war tourist attraction maps from Japan. We found these last year whilst rummaging around Tokyo, have photographed and translated them & present them in our new book 'Paper Trails'. Only available from P&C.

We took these photos of wrapped lemon trees, protected from the frost, at Villa Medici in Rome. All from our Instagram grid.

Scanned by us from an old Ricatype catalogue.

During the bus ride home today we found this auction catalog of 210 old vending & gumball machines. Enjoy!

From 1940 a sample brochure of label designs which are a great source of type & shape. These sheets are currently residing in our bricks & mortar, head to the ephemera drawers.

Found in Berlin at the weekend, this book comes with pages of perforated gummed shapes - which can be popped out of the page to create these suggestions. Simply charming.
The book will be in our bricks & mortar, we have only one copy.

David Walker has been collecting paper clips from around the world for much of his life. He recently moved into a new home & his daughter has been sorting through his belongings. His clip collection couldn't make the move but was kindly donated to us. It was such a lovely thing to receive in the post, and document. You know we love a clip!
The annotation is beautiful, the locations of discovery and the overall aesthetic of the collation on cards and scraps of paper make us very happy indeed. They will be treasured.

Found a very long time ago in Berlin, a GDR Maths book which is part of a series. Volumes 1 & 2 are the best of the bunch. All scans from us.
